My favorite grab and go lunch spot. I sometimes come right when they open to eat. The line is always huge but it's worth it. The venue is basically a Mediterranean style Chipotle. You start off with picking your choice of lettuce, rice, hummus then meats (falafel is a vegetarian option) and then you top it with Israeli salad or pickled onions. I love love this place kinda similar like Naya express in midtown but with much healthier options. I frequently visit this place for lunch and it never disappoints. For Proteins i have tried their falafel and mix veggies and I have to say their mix veggies are way way better than the falafel. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is their falafel are not that great and their line is pretty huge during lunch hours. Also they have many options for dressing and you can ask for extra dressing on the side. I am a regular here until I get bored of this place! read more

Favorite lunch/dinner spot. I usually take the green and grain bowl with super greens and lentils or brown basmati rice. Falafel and chicken half and half protein, harrisa, egg plant and hummus dips and all the veggies and definitely their pita chips. Not a great first experience. I walked in at 3:15pm. No line, which was great because everyone says the line is usually long. All guys behind the counter talking and enjoying life which is great! I just feel when a customer walks up it's show time! One guy said hello...not the one serving and I clearly look lost since I never been inside any Cava. So after a minute of the guys looking at me and me at them I start my bowl. I don't know how many spreads I can pick or sides. I guess they are use to people kinda knowing the routine. I mean the lunch rush is over. As I move down the line the food is just thrown in. No love. I felt like I was at a frat house with the yelling and cursing. So I pay and for $19 bucks I'm like ahhhhhh. I got braised lamb. Tasty meat and the peach green tea was good. At Skewer, which is not far on 23rd. I was greeted. Talked to by each person in each station instead of getting stared at and the plates that are used made for each item to be seen and eaten instead of being dumped on top of each other in a bowl. Was excited to try Cava for the first time tonight. Went to location on Park and 24th around 6:30pm and waited on a long line. Was choosing toppings when the server abruptly stopped and walked away. I felt the message was I was requesting too many toppings, though the sign said unlimited. I asked someone else for cucumber, which he barely threw-in before my bowl was moved forward toward the "dressing" person (who was also unpleasant). When the server returned I asked "you just walk away?" He grinned. I see my experience of poor service is not unusual here. Was offered a free drink or side in response to my complaint. read more

Healthy Mediterranean fast food within reasonable price range. We went in as a group of 4 and there was a long line but the line gave us time to think of what we wanted. The menu guide is pretty straightforward and I definitely recommend getting falafel as the protein option to make your money worth because the chicken tastes just like any other chicken, nothing too spectacular. The harissa dip is spicy but it gave my salad a good kick of spice and flavor. Probably this Cava just opened up but we got a small pita bread on the side for free. They also offered online ordering app if you do not wish to wait on line. Every time I go to this location, the employees are rude AF. If you go during the rush (which I understand is hard on the employees), they yell at customers down the line to give their orders before they arrive at the counter. You often are required to order ingredients sight-unseen because of how poorly they manage the line. Every time, I've had an employee behind the counter yell in my ear at people behind me to get their attention to start placing their order before they even get near the counter. If you don't play at their speed, you get a nasty look and attitude. The food is haphazardly tossed around as it goes from station-to-station. I don't like going here because of this experience. The food is always tasty and plentiful. I'd pay an extra dollar if it meant they could pay their employees more and invest in something better to manage the line without the yelling and the pushy attitudes. If someone told me that their employees are paid well, then I'd say that it doesn't show one bit in the customer experience. If you're going to get food from this place, I recommend ordering for pick-up so you can place your order in peace, skip the sh*tshow line, and skip the rude employees. read more

REALLY HIT THE SPOT!! Was looking for a healthy dinner that's flavorful and would be able to fill me up. This fit the bill exactly. All for less than $11 total! There was a line but it moved very quickly. It is just like the Chipotle of Mediterranean food. It was my first time and I didn't want to hold the line up so I had to make choices fast even though I wasn't sure what to get, but in the end I'm very happy with my picks and would totally order the same thing again. I chose the supergreens mix with a tiny bit of brown rice, chicken, 3 dips (harissa, tzatziki, eggplant), unlimited toppings (tomato salad, extra sweet peppers, feta cheese, crispy crumbled pita), and topped with spicy Greek yogurt sauce. Came here for a quick Monday lunch with some coworkers. Cava is basically a Mediterranean Chipotle as you pick your base, sides, toppings, and dressings and combine them into a bowl. For today, I got their Spinach Greens (base), Brown Rice, Spicy and Yogurt Sauce, Grilled Meatballs, Salsa, Sliced Tomatoes and Red Onions, and Sriarcha Yogurt Sauce. The taste was ok (though I personally would've preferred it without the yogurt sauce) but I thought it was quite overpriced for how much food I got ($10.75). I pretty much only got 3 meatballs for my dish, which I was a bit annoyed by given how much I'm paying for my bowl. Out of all these sudden assembly line salad chains Cava has just trumped Chopt to be my top favorite along the lines of the others Sweetgreen, Minigrow, Fresh & Co., Just Salad, PAX, etc... It's because of their ingredients. And I don't believe it's in what I chose. The highlight of my salad comes from the very flavorful pickled red onions and pickled green banana peppers. The cucumber & tomotoes made a good touch. The black lentils were very filling. Solid, firm, perfect ly soft to give me that I'm downing loads of fiber feel. The protein being the grilled chicken taste like real chicken not processed meat. Though, I don't know. Fresh romaine. Add Greek Vinaigrette and it add a little sweet tartness to my salad. This is what I get from the Green Harissa: a cilantro, tart, herb then a heated kick like from a hot pepper in the grind. The hummus tasted a little better than I believe I have had at most placed, thicker. Of course last but not least the Tzatziki sauce was very good. Had this place bookmarked for a while and finally decided to pay this place a visit today. Came extremely early so the place was relatively empty. Food was fresh and prepared in front of you as you move down the line Chipotle-style. Portion size was humongous. For its price ($11), its definitely worth it for the amount of food you're getting. Chicken bowl was amazing. Had mine over a bed of rice, one of every topping and crisps to add an extra crunch to my meal. You can also do half chicken/falafel if you'd like, for the same price. Also a big fan of the Maine Root blueberry soda offered over at the soda fountain. They also offered infused teas. Watermelon mint isn't bad either. Staff were friendly and helpful. I'm so happy they have been opening more locations all over the city! I work near flatiron and used to walk to the union square location for lunch. Now that they have the park avenue location - it's been significantly more convenient. The line is typically out the door but moves very quickly. I've been pre-ordering for pick up on their website these days though, which saves time! If you are pre-ordering, be sure to place the order earlier as the available pick up times around lunchtime gets slimmer. For protein, I've tried their braised lamb, falafel, grilled chicken and spicy lamb meatballs - chicken is my go to (sometimes I'll do half chicken half falafel to mix things up) The best part about Cava though is their dips & spreads! If you like spice, try the Harissa! You can get up to 3 scoops of dips and I typically double up on the Harissa. For the sauce - I recommend the yogurt dill or green harissa. Am I obsessed with Harissa much? If you're looking for a change to your lunch menu, this place is worth a try. read more

As I see a group of staffs just hangout by the bathroom There's two staff behind the counter helping customers, the male staff was very helpful then comes the lady who's next to him who looks like she doesn't wanna be there and giving me the i don't give a f$&@ attitude..... Aside from her attitude when I asked for the dressing on the side as last step before I pay and she simply ignored me somehow and went to help the person behind me??!! When I asked her why I'm being skipped she answered because I wanted my dressing on the side so I needed to wait?!!! Like I can see the plastic cup and the dressing is only right in front of her!! Anyway the food is good and fresh but the management need to work on the attitude for some of the staffs there. read more

Wow delicious and so worth the price It gets super busy during lunch time so I would recommend going at off peak hours! (Though the staff are good and the line moves fairly quickly) If it's you're first time I recommend the pitas!! You can get two separate small pitas too!! The bread is just so good! I think they make it themselves or toast it on the soft but it's soft chewy and melts! The salads and rice bowls are better if you don't want to make a mess (which happened with me and my pita lol) You get a choice of protein with additional calories prices for certain ones and basically almost as many sides and sauces you want in the mix!! read more

WOW! What a find! After I ranted to all my friends about my love for Sweetgreen, they recommended this place and said that I might enjoy it. Boy were they right -- I LOVE this place. The interior is super clean just like the inside of a Sweetgreen and the set up is similar where you create a Mediterranean bowl, or a salad. I personally loved all the options and they were pretty generous with the portions especially when you consider the price point to be pretty fair (a bit cheaper than the salads you get at Sg, but quality ingredients). I ordered a grain salad bowl and it was delicious. This is going to be my new regular spot... I absolutely love it and implore all foodies to try this place. read more
