I have not had a negative experience at this CD One Price Cleaners- Morton Grove location. First off, their hours are very convenient and they have ample parking space for customers as well. I have taken several coats, jackets and dresses over the past months. Every time I came in, I have been immediately attended to. There were a couple of times when a couple of the staff members were taking care of other customers, another staff would stop what he/she were doing in order to attend to new incoming customers. I would like to acknowledge one of the younger staff members, who offered to bring one of the older customer her cleaned garments to her car. He knew that the bags were quite heavy so he willingly told the woman that he could help her carry them. I really thought this was a nice gesture of going above and beyond their service. As for the quality of garment care, I have been satisfied with the cleaning of my garments and they were all for $3.89 each (as of Nov. '21). For dropping off, it's the usual checking and counting how many items you would want to be cleaned, you pay, and then you leave. When I've dropped off after 6 pm, my garments were usually ready after 3 pm the next day. For pick up, they will ask for your phone number, get your garments, and off you go. There is always plenty of parking, hours are good and the staff is always very friendly. I pick up his dry cleaning when I'm able to and the staff always offers to help me take his 52,736 items to my car, whether I ask for assistance carrying it or not, which is very sweet. I have been going to CD one cleaners for years now and visit at least 1x a week to drop off clothes. I always spoke with John and the lady with the glasses and they were always so pleasant to interact with, John even interacted with my dog when I would come in with him. I haven't had an issue with anything being turned away for dry cleaning until today. They have some new girl Hispanic girl with big glasses ( I didn't catch her name) working and she is EXTREMELY rude and has an attitude problem for no reason. Doesn't even say hello or thank you. I have interacted with her 3 times and she is just nasty. I brought in 3 pieces of clothing for dry cleaning, which I have brought in before and she refused to to dry clean the one shirt. When I asked her why she waved her hand and said "he said no", I had no clue who the "he" was because no one was at the counter. Turns out it was "the manager" a short Hispanic guy (don't know his name either) who said they can't clean my shirt. I explained to him that I have previously brought this in here and it has been cleaned with no issues and that the label says "dry clean only" so that doesn't make sense. I took the shirt and left and I was extremely angry because I wanted to wear the shirt for Christmas, so now I have to find another dry cleaner. After I left I realized I have a similar shirt to the one I brought in today (white with feather cuffs) that was previously cleaned and when I came to pick it up noticed there was a pink stain on the shirt that wasn't there before. They ended up having to clean it 3 times to get it out and they told me that it's possible it could have touched another shirt while being wet. Why in the world would you put a white shirt next to colored shirts when they are wet??! Since they fixed the issue before I continued to go there. I realized that I had dealt with 'the manager" and he probably thought it was the same shirt and didn't want to deal with cleaning it again. Safe to say I am done with going there and they have lost not only 2 customers but my parents also will not be going back either. John, you're great but your employees suck. Update: came in to pick up my husband's 2 shirts I left here and they can't find them. Best thing is Miss Personality is still here and is the one to help. They have been waiting over 20 minutes. After over 4 years of being a customer here, I will no longer go back. Prior to our wedding, my husband took in his Marine Corps formal dress blues coat in to get it dry cleaned and pressed. This is a practice he's done for over 12 years at various every day dry cleaners without any issue or hiccup. When we went to pick up the coat, the collar, which should be crisp and circular (fitted around the neck), was EXTREMELY distorted, wrinkly, and wavy! Totally unacceptable! When the employee was told about the mess up, he said that was how it turned out, without any sympathy or suggestion for any other solution. A wrinkled collar is NOT what any military coat or shirt or jacket or otherwise should look like! It was clearly the dry cleaning and pressing process that janked up the collar too bc a brand new collar insert was placed inside the coat before wearing it. After some more discussion, the employee said they would try to repress it... but to no avail. It was still wrinkly upon pick up. And keep in mind this was for a wedding. Read: extremely important occasion. After the wedding, husband gave CD One another chance (how forgiving, right?) at dry cleaning the coat, specifically explaining to the manager lady what had happened last time and NOT to press the collar bc it could get even more wrinkly and wavier. What happened when the coat was picked up? It came out janked up again, and there was actually a NOTE tied around the hanger that read "Press well!" As in the OPPOSITE of what was directed to the dry cleaners. How does this happen??!!! A refund was received for that debacle, but that in no way compensates for the incompetence of the 2 separate employees and all of the excuses offered up for their mistake. Good riddance. read more

So after these people ruined my zipper, accused/blamed me for it, then seeing their tags on my jacket and honestly I have no reason to lie, what a joke these people are, what should've been a simple fix was a nightmare. They replaced my nice zipper with a piece of crap! Big plastic and cheap, the jacket was ruined and on top of that they put it on all wrong. The picture says it all. For the heck of it, I checked to see if I could buy a replacement, they didn't have my exact style but they had the pullover in stock so I decided to get it. I am so glad that they brought a CD One Price Cleaners in the area - getting in is kind of tough, as there is no left-turn lane to get into the actual parking lot - you'd have to do a U-turn or go into the Panera plaza to come back out as there is a median and the traffic on Dempster is pretty busy. The service is friendly, and they offer the same bargain price for all articles of clothings - they do not do servicing for leathers, down, alterations, wedding gown preservations, or household goods, but they do clean jackets, shirts, pants, blouses, etc. It's a fixed price, and they are done in a day if you bring it before a certain time in the morning; otherwise, it's ready for you the following day after 5PM. I dropped off 9 Tommy Bahama shirts I plan to ship to Florida. When I left them and paid I asked they be folded in a box I was told no problem. I picked up the shirts today and they were on hangers. I spoke to the manager and he indicated they do not fold shirts. I know this is not true as I have had shirts folded instead of hung there in the past. I asked him why I was told the shirts would be folded and he told me he does not know. Upon arriving home I checked them out and found stains I had never had before and a couple small ones that were still there . It almost appears they pressed my shirts without cleaning them. At this point they beat me out of $36. I'll go to another cleaner and have them re cleaned and folded. This place in my opinion is very bad news with no concern for their customers or their reputation. One price cleaners get bit!! There are are too many honest cleaners out there to ever deal with you again. read more

Quick and easy. Dry cleaning is not one of my favorite errands to run so having a place that lessens the hassle for me is much appreciated. I was able to drop off some nice shirts the other day and be on my way within only a few minutes despite not having had an account with them prior. I picked them up a few days later than promised and was pleasantly surprised to see how great my shirts looked. I forgot my receipt but they were able to look me up with ease making the whole ordeal as painless as possible. The prices were reasonable too. The only downsides were the interior and their antiquated credit card system. Once inside, you will know what I mean. It looks pretty run down inside and I noticed that they try to keep the front door open to probably vent. I saw a coffee machine inside but I wouldn't expect it to function or spew anything other than brown water. They only accept certain credit card types. But what's worst is that debit cards can't be run any other way. I prefer to always select the credit option on my debit purchases to accrue benefits and take advantage of fraud protection but that wasn't really possible here. If you can look past those gripes, this is a fine place to cross off dry cleaning off your to-do list. read more

A little disappointed with my customer service experience today. I recently got a satin skirt back and they destroyed it with safety pins. I now have several holes at the top of the garment. We are regular customers at this location spending about 60 dollars a month on dry cleaning. I called to talk about the issue and was honestly pushed aside. I was put on hold and then told I would need to wait for a call back because they were too busy. At no point did they apologize for the issue. I understand a business being busy on a weekend but not immediately apologizing is a red flag. They are fine for shirts I guess but can't handle anything more delicate than that! read more

The owner, John, has a temper and is racist. Better not ask him questions (to try to educate yourself), or try to have your garments redone if a service promised (by a different employee) isn't done. I apparently called a different, franchised location, and spoke to a Hispanic-accented woman (who was very polite and friendly), John stated with pride in his tone that he doesn't have any Hispanics working at his location. He threatened to call the police on me for not leaving when I was just trying to obtain answers to my questions about cleaning my $500 custom made wedding tuxedo jacket that a cat-in-heat sprayed (he also laughed and said "you're getting married in that...). He tried to call me rude, but he was insulting, interrupted me numerous times, and didn't like when I said "are you going to let me finish a sentence"? He didn't like being spoken to in a dialogue. he wanted to tell you how it is; power trip monologue and all. Then he said he was too busy to help me. THEN he tried to say my wife said it's "fine" when we originally came in, but she told me after we left that she did not want to waste her time or breath on this person for misinterpretation of her words (she meant it's fine because she already tried washing it). I tried asking for a manager and he said he's the owner. They do not offer coupons and don't have a rewards customer loyalty program. Stay far away from this place if you value your expensive pieces of clothing. There are plenty of other dry cleaners out there. After relocating back to Chicago I found CD One Price Cleaners in Morton a few months ago and frequent this location twice a week for cleaning service. The service has always been decent in particular a nice older lady with glasses who is very pleasant. Today I picked up my cleaning and received horrible service. The girl took my cleaning swiped my credit card and immediately walked away after leaving my receipt on the counter. Her co-worker noticed what happened and immediately handed me the receipt and stated that the items will be available for pick up tomorrow. She thanked me for coming and really went out of her way to recover from the rude behavior of the other employee. The rude girl behind the counter is a younger Hispanic that wears way too much makeup and pants extremely tight to point of being offensive. Not sure if she was concerned about her immigration status or simply just being rude to a customer for no apparent reason. read more

I am a contractor and had 21 moving blankets in desperate need of cleaning and two days in between jobs to get them cleaned.
