Where can I even start with this particular review!!!! So much to say about the EXCELLENT SERVICE we have experienced now over 3.5 years from Mr. Harold and his entire staff! Before moving into one of their apartments at La Place, our daughter had lived on campus which was a nightmare for WHAT we were being charged, then we opted to try out University Gateway and that WAS even more frustrating for what we paid - filthy, garbage area filthy and overflowing, ACs not functioning as they should, apartment not ready for our move-in with broken microwave, filthy apartment, the list goes on. So, as we opted to sign up with CDI, after meeting in person Mr. Harold, we did so with a 2 year option with the possibility of adding a 3rd. Why? Simple, Mr. Harold DID give us complete confidence that our daughter's living needs if needed, would be taken care of by him and his devoted staff! Add on to the fact that we have access to a parking space for our daughter's car, so there was no need to stress about finding parking ever! Their parking rates are also VERY reasonable compared to USC campus AND University Gateway. Furthermore, the apartment itself, when we moved in was CLEAN, freshly painted; they even had the decency to call us a few weeks prior to moving in, if we wanted carpet in the bedroom or laminate floors! I was so appreciative and thrilled because our daughter's severe allergies would have been that much more worse with a carpeted bedroom. The list goes on of positive experiences we have had over 3.5 years now with CDI! They are always ready and willing to help out! They were and continue to be the FAMILY our daughter needed because we live out-of-State especially if there were emergencies! Mr. Harold even helped our daughter at one point in regards to her car! (She did not have all the tools as we do here in our home) Right? In such a big city to find such personable, friendly and outright caring individuals especially for their renters, NOW THAT IS PRICELESS! Like I wrote in the beginning, there is SO MUCH to say about CDI Management - and ALL very very positive. ANY parent looking to find a "home" away from home for their student attending college in that area, DO TAKE the time to visit Jessica, Rachel and Mr. Harold! They maintain their apartments with great care, and they LISTEN to their tenants, and when it comes to repairing something in the apartment, my goodness, their response time is none other than OUTSTANDING! Their maintenance staff are just as friendly and professional! Finally, their email or verbal communications with our daughter or us from afar is just as efficient! They never take more than 24 hours in responding to our questions, concerns, etc. SO PARENTS or STUDENTS out there if you want a safe, clean well maintained from HOME away from home and a "family" to count on, away from your very own that you can trust to be there if you need them, CDI Management is one home management company and family I WOULD highly recommend! read more

If you're a student or just looking for safe housing near USC, avoid CDI Management. I've only been here two months and already had my locked scooter stolen from inside the gated area of the property. When I reported it, the front desk was dismissive and unhelpful. I had to email the company president multiple times just to get a reply, and when he finally responded, he blamed me and said the camera footage was "blurry." He refused to help any further and even threatened me when I said I would escalate the issue. I didn't ask him for compensation once I understood he was not liable in that sense, all I wanted was help reviewing footage and improving security. The lack of accountability and complete disregard for resident safety is alarming. Gated does not mean secure, and once something happens, they won't help you. read more

Affordable and very good management. I stayed at the Tower, and even though it't not one of those fancy apts, it is very well-maintained and clean. Nothing to complain about besides the noise from the upper apts ( prob didn't have a very good noise cancellation system). Manager is right next to my apt and maintenance request is done within the same day. Highly recommend to stay here. Pretty safe area too. read more

I found The Mirage apartment while driving around looking for an apartment for my son that was close to the Village. I called CDI Management and luckily they had a one bedroom available for the coming Fall semester. Harold the owner and all of the management I dealt with were always friendly and of great assistance. The apartment had all new hardwood flooring installed, everything seemed freshly painted and clean at move in. My son and his roommates were very happy living in The Mirage. I have been living here at The Spots since Fall 2016 and not once have I issued a complaint regarding general or rare issues. I think I have been very fortunate to stumble on the services of CDI management. They are the best when it comes to immediate help regarding anything. You name it: household problems, problems regarding rent payment, neighbourhood problems, they give their 100 percent to cover it all. The people who live here appreciate the provisions given by CDI and are all buddies. From the space they provide to the location they have their units on, you cannot ask for more. Most of the people who live here are USC students and, let me express the humour, it just takes two songs to reach the campus, or any other place of routine work. It feels just great to live here. Jessica, who controls everything from the management to the units, is just so amiable. I love to correspond with her and she is so good with accomodations asked for. I stayed at "The Pointe" location for one year and can tell you that CDI Management was the greatest decision I could have made for my last year at USC. Each member at the management office was extremely helpful whenever an issue arose (which was rare). One phone call to the office and the issue was resolved in a matter of hours. We've been living in Trojandale for about a year and a half now and we are so pleased with every aspect of living here. The apartments are clean and spacious. Any time we've had a minor issue (like a burnt out kitchen light- we haven't had any big issues), we submit a quick form online and it's handled immediately by kind and competent maintenance men. The grounds are meticulously cared for. The fountain in the courtyard is so peaceful. The parking is secure. You can send your packages to the office to be kept safe until you're ready to get them. The laundry room is always clean and the machines are always working. The thermostat actually works. And the owner is a genuinely kind and considerate man. I would live here forever, if I could! 10/10 would recommend. read more

Thank God I found this company! I had the best leasing experience of my life with them. Jessica is so friendly and helpful, and even helped me to find someone to sublease my apartment for the last two months of my lease. I lived in a one-bedroom at their property on Shrine Place, called "The Place," and I honestly couldn't have been happier. I felt completely safe in the area (which is in the USC patrol zone and also very close to campus). Upon moving in, the apartment was spotless, complete with new carpet. I opted to get it furnished, and the CORT furniture was better quality than I've ever received through a furniture lease in the past. If you have any packages, you can get them delivered to the CDI leasing office, so that you can always be sure your package arrives safely. On their company website, they also allow you to put in maintenance requests easily. When one of my blinds broke, CDI sent someone within a half an hour and fixed it for me. Seriously, I couldn't recommend this company any more! There are a lot of companies in the area who try to take advantage of college students, and CDI is definitely NOT one of them. They treat you like family. I tell all my friends how amazing they are. Lease with them! read more

My son lived in Trojandale for the 20114-15 academic year. The one bedroom apartment was spacious and the property well maintained. He kept the apartment clean and was very careful in not damaging anything. He paid the full year's rent but moved out almost one month early. We received our deposit back in the mail today. There was a total of $370 in deductions from our $1000 deposit. These deductions included $60 for touch up paint, $35 for repairing of blinds, $125 for carpet cleaning and $150 for general cleaning. The blinds were in the same condition as when he moved in. I was in the apartment when he moved out and it was essentially in the same condition as when he moved in. Normal wear and tear should be the apartment owners responsibility. Be prepared to have a portion of your deposit unfairly taken. read more

After living with a couple other housing companies at USC and being totally appalled with their customer service and sleazy leasing agents that tell you whatever you want to hear to get you to sign a lease.. I am so glad I found CDI during my last year at SC. Compared to the companies I've lived with and the stories I've heard from my friends, CDI stands as a beacon of hope for students who want high quality housing AND great customer service. They take pride in their properties, and their maintenance team is constantly working to keep the grounds clean and safe. It seems like almost every day I leave for class there is either someone trimming the hedges, mowing the lawn, or adding something to the property. It seems like overkill sometimes. When stuff breaks, they are at your door to fix it within 45 minutes. Even on a weekend, they'll send someone to help you out. I live at Trojandale and my neighbor was having trouble with the BBQ on a Sunday afternoon. He called the office and they literally had one of the maintenance guys drive down to help him out. No joke. And lastly, the customer service is top-notch. Mike at the front office is super friendly and is always willing to help you out. It's a family-run business and it definitely shows. The last two places I lived at, they were super nice until I signed the lease but once it was inked they fell off the face of the earth and were a pain in the a** to deal with. I lived in CDI Management apartments for 3 fabulous years while I was a student at USC. They are by far the most professional and attentive company in the area. I lived in the Tower for one year and then moved to Trojandale for my Junior and Senior years to get a little farther away from the action. However, the convenient location of the Tower can't be beat. When I moved into both properties, my apartment was immaculate and had just been given a fresh paint job and new carpeting. As another reviewer mentioned, the very friendly maintenance team is constantly hard at work keeping the properties neat and tidy.On the rare occasion that I had an issue with the apartment, CDI sent someone over within an hour and the problem was fixed. If they ever needed to enter my apartment, they called and emailed me many days in advance to make sure it was OK. Another great feature is that you can get any precious packages (e.g. Coachella tickets, medication, laptops) delivered to the management office and they will sign for them and keep them safe until you can pick them up. On one occasion, they hand delivered a very important package to my place because I was stuck in traffic and wasn't going to make it back in time before they closed for the weekend. It's this attention to detail that sets CDI apart. Though CDI's properties can be a bit more expensive, you definitely get what you pay for. CDI was always courteous, polite, and honest and in reach when I needed help. This is in stark contrast to other companies in the area. Many of my friends had to worry about their bike tires getting deflated or their security deposits being seized for arbitrary reasons. Not me! I always felt safe and taken care of and I was sad to leave such a great company. read more

I live in a four-bedroom apartment in The Spot and could not ask for a better living situation. The apartment is in amazing condition and has a large living room, two bathrooms, and a full kitchen with island seating. The complex has great amenities including laundry machines, outdoor seating, and barbecues. Most importantly, the best advantage of living in a CDI property is the customer service they provide - they are always available to help and willing to accommodate any needs. The Spot is already one of the nicest apartment complexes at USC, and the customer services CDI provides makes it that much more appealing. read more

I highly recommend CDI management for a housing option near USC. I lived in the Tower for one year, the last year of my school years. Location: 5 stars The Tower located at a perfect location. It's right near one of the brightest street- Hoover St about 4 mins walk to USC village and 8 mins walk to the USC main campus. Management & Maintenance: 5 stars They really care about the tenants. Our manager Rachel and Jessica are very nice. The team is excellent. They keep our packages. So when we left for a short holiday, we won't lose them. We have some ants in our apt one time, and one of my roommates told the manager. Their team member put some bait, and it never happens again. Cleaning team cleans floors and stairs almost every day. (I always saw them during the morning) Facilities： 4.5 stars in-door Facilities: 5 stars Every unit has a full kitchen (microwave, refrigerator, wood cabinet, stoves...), many dome lights, numerous electrical plug & socket (these are super convenient for study!!!) The 0.5 star deducting is the outdoor facilities compared to other apartments near USC. It doesn't have a gym or pool but since it's very close to the USC village and where I could use the school resources, so it's not a big deal to me. Overall, CDI management is perfect for me. If they have properties in other cities in the future, especially where I work, I will definitely choose them again! read more

My experience with CDI has been absolutely fantastic. Though their places are generally pricier than many options around USC, it's worth every penny. I live in the Mirage and every time I go over to somebody else's place in the area, I'm reminded of how fortunate I am to live in such a well maintained building. The management at CDI is particularly noteworthy. I've mostly dealt with Zack in the front office, and he's a really fantastic manager. I stayed in Trojandale from August 2015 - May 2016. I have only good things to say about this place. The management was incredibly nice and helpful throughout my stay, from signing the lease to helping find a sub-letter for my last 2 months. The property itself is in phenomenal condition, the courtyard area is always clean and well maintained. I stayed in a 1 BR/BA apartment and there were no issues and my apartment neighbors were all quite considering we're all college students. CDI management is downright the best housing option near USC. They are very responsive and genuinely care for their tenants. Their Maintainance team: George and Pablo are the nicest people you can find. Once I did something stupid and clogged my toilet. They tried to fix it and spent more than an hour. They could have simply asked me to call a plumber and bear the expense of more than 100 dollars as it was my fault, but they cared enough to fix it for free. If you find any apartment available then lease it without any second thought (all their apartments gets leased very fast). Overall I am very happy with my apartment and the management. Small tip to the management: Provide a small guide to use the heater, dishwasher, and food disposer system. Though we all know to use them, a small do's and don't's list will be helpful for tenants and the apartment in general. read more

Management is very responsive. We had a roach problem for a bit, but management took great measures to eliminate the problem.

This place really cares about the people in them. All packages can get delivered to their main office (so you always know they're safe) and central to all buildings and literally next to USC. You can get them at your convenience and some candy while your there! The apartment buildings are very clean and if there is ever an issue, they respond within a few hours (at most) to schedule someone to come that day or the next. Pretty much every time we had even the smallest apartment issue (little things like the shower not draining properly), they were there to fix it within an hour. I am writing to update my review of The Spot. This management company was VERY responsive to getting the washer and dryers fixed. They purchased all NEW washers and dryers. Yay! I have to say, from Jessica in the office who is terrific to work with, to the President of CDI, they truly care about this property. I received multiple emails and calls regarding the problem and where they were in the resolution process. Honestly, I couldn't wait to write this review for CDI Management. They have been the best landlords I've ever ever had. I lived at The Pointe in a studio apartment during my 2 years of grad school at USC and CDI has made my experience a wonderful one. When I arrive to my apartment, it was SPOTLESS. Any and every maintenance request I've put in has been responded to and fixed within usually 12 hours or less of me submitting it. They also are very friendly people from the owner, to the front desk woman, or the maintenance workers. One story that really highlights my time with CDI is recently my bike was stolen from outside the apartment (I didn't lock it up), and I asked CDI if they could look at the security camera, and they showed up then next day with a bike for me to use!!! SO thoughtful and saved me a lot of money. They go above and beyond and are a well-oiled machine that you can trust. I wish I could stay in my little CDI management oasis longer. 100% recommend renting from them. read more

This is my second term of lease at Trojandale. People complain that it is expensive, but to be honest their pricing is quite fair. I have got maintenance done quite a number of times and it is prompt and hassle free. The apartments are spacious and have great amenities. They do provide furnishing with additional cost. I love the courtyard where you can sit quietly (yes quiet!) /or have a group sit for any sort of leisure activities. I dealt with Zach initially and currently Jessica and Mike are at the desk. I lived at The Pointe for 2 years underneath CDI. They were very professional and made my last two years at USC quite pleasant. Mike and Jessica who work there are the nicest people you'll ever meet. I will say the building I lived in was a bit old, and I had to deal with small things constantly breaking or sometimes roach issues. However, CDI always came through the next day to take care of it right away. Moreover, I noticed some reviews mentioning a huge deduction in their respective deposits, however I only had a general cleaning fee on mine and got most of my whole deposit back. Overall, I really enjoyed living at The Pointe and would definitely recommend CDI to future USC students looking for housing! read more

If I could give 100 stars I would! I called at night urgently trying to find an apartment for my son who had horrific roommate problems needed to get out asap! The owner not only answered my call, he did not have avaialbility (I understand why because of the superior care this man gives and the incredible reviews) he spent an hour on phone giving me places to call, explaining the security, distance to usc. He then said, if no one can help me, call him he will personally look around make calls help me find a place for my son?! WHO DOES THIS!!!! CDI Management is superior! An owner who was a parent to a USC kid, understands our frustration and concerns for safety and quality care for our kids when we can't be there. This man Harold actually truly cares! read more

I haven't lived in a CDI property yet, but my boyfriend and I signed a lease today. Everyone there, especially Mike, the leasing manager, was ridiculously nice and helpful. As financially independent young adults, it can be hard to find an affordable apartment. (We also signed a lease at one of the nicest properties around). However, CDI was so willing to work and negotiate with us until we were happy. We signed to move in earlier than the lease, switching apartments in fall, and they offered to have their guys move us for free, with a pro-rated rent, for the inconvenience. They also expected first month's rent and $1000 security deposit, but after negotiation let us sign the lease on just first month's rent. They also ran credit checks on us rather than require co-signers, which is practically unheard of from housing companies in this area. Everything was finalized in 3 days, and was so incredibly easy. Better yet, Mike and the staff were easy to talk to - I never felt like he was trying to sell me more, screw me over, or rush me into making a decision. Best, easiest, and fastest housing situation I've ever been in! read more
