I was referred to CDR Overhead Storage by my mom who had a rack installed in her house a few months ago. When I called, Tim answered the phone while driving and pulled over to take all of my information and to schedule a date and time for him to come out to my house. The appointment was 2 weeks out, so you know he is busy! On the day of the install, Tim was running about an hour behind, but he called well in advance to let me know he would be late. When he got here, he measured the spot I thought the rack would be best in (we really only had 1 spot that it would work) and Tim got right to work. He told me it would be a 4x6 rack that was 30 inches down from the ceiling. He told me he would be done in about an hour. He was spot on, about an hour later, the rack was installed. We just bought a place. We had garage racks like these in the last place we were renting and we loved them. I called Tim at CDR to see if he could come give me his thoughts on where/how to hang racks in my new garage. We had a coupon for CDR Overhead Storage so we called them up to make an appointment. They can come out to install on the same day as your consultation since they keep all of the materials in their truck, so they can set up anything you decide on. Our appointment was about a week out and although we didn't receive any confirmation calls or emails, they did give us a heads up when they were on the way from the previous appointment. The whole process took less than an hour. They gave us all of the sizing options and locations that would work in our garage with our particular cars and we decided on a 4x8 1000 lb capacity rack. It has a nice clean look to it and I liked that it was white and matched our garage walls too. They don't seem super strict about any COVID protocol, as he wasn't wearing a mask even after seeing us with ours on, so just a heads up on that. They take cash, check, or also credit card with an extra processing fee. Would recommend this company for the ease of installation and transaction, and the clean looks of the racks. When he arrived I inquired about a rack I could purchase from him directly. Luckily he had everything on his truck. When you see a company like this that has nothing but five-star reviews, it's normal to be a little skeptical and wonder if they're legitimate. Well, I'm here to tell you there's no reason to wonder about the legitimacy of these reviews. They are definitely real and well-deserved. When I moved into my house a few years ago, garage storage was definitely a major problem. I called around to other companies and got some quotes, and they were pretty pricey. I even considered putting in some storage units myself, but it would cost me about the same or even more than hiring these professionals at CDR garage doors. From the moment I called the company, the owner was very responsive and patient about answering questions. He came out and offered a fair and reasonable quote for installing two garage storage units, measuring 4 ft x 8 ft for each one. The installation was set up within an almost immediate time frame and it was done professionally, courteously, and well. I think the entire installation took just under 2 hours and I was amazed at how well it was done. having overhead storage racks makes a huge difference when you don't have much storage space in your house. I can't tell you how much I was able to declutter the inside of my house thanks to the storage racks. There's so much space to store stuff up there and everything fits neatly and securely. The storage racks are bolted to studs on all sides so they are very stable and I have no worries about them coming down during an earthquake. They are so strong that you could practically hang from them, although I wouldn't try doing that because I'm not a lightweight. I wish I could install a few more of these in my garage, but unfortunately I don't have the room on my ceiling for anymore. My husband LOVES Christmas and decorating for Christmas. So as a result, we have TONS of boxes of Christmas decor that's crowding our storage room, as well as our garage. We've always thought about how great it'd be to get some garage storage racks built. But we were clueless as to where to go. Do we go to Costco and get the Saferacks? That seemed pretty popular. But then the idea of having my husband try to figure out how to install those seemed a bit time-consuming and not necessarily the safest option. So we kind of put the idea of these racks in the back of our mind, since we thought it'd be a bit too pricey for our wallets. Storage racks seem pretty heavy duty, so we figured they would cost a pretty penny. This past weekend, we decided to walk around the Cal Expo Home and Landscape Show. While there, we stopped at a company that was showing their storage rack designs. It was pretty interesting, so we thought, hm, maybe we can consider this company. However, the prices that they had advertised on their signs did NOT include installation and taxes. A few minutes later, we encountered ANOTHER storage rack company who had an impressive set up too, but told us about how his racks were better than the first guy's, and how the first guy was telling us dishonest information, etc etc. It was a bit overwhelming to take in so much information and try to figure out which company to go with. If only they had some Yelp reviews.... Unfortunately both of those companies did NOT have any Yelp reviews or even a PAGE on Yelp (what?!). While searching for those two companies, I happened to see CDR's Yelp page and was impressed by all the positive reviews. And to make things even better, the prices were about $200-300 LESS than the prices we were quoted at the expo. Better products and better prices? Sign us up! So I called CDR's number and got to talk to Tim directly. I was able to set up an appointment for about a week later. On the day of the install, Matt showed up promptly at the scheduled time and did excellent work. Our garage now looks ready for some organization. I can't wait to get more room in our storage closet too! We learned from Matt that the owner, Tim, has been doing this for over 11 years. They also have partnering companies with locations in Southern California and the Bay Area as well, under differing names. (They share similar photos and videos) They install a rack called Topp Rax, which looks to be the best out there. If you type in "Topp Rax" into YouTube, you can see some of their partner's videos, as well as some on CDR's website. We are so happy to have these racks in our garage and at such a great price. I've wanted shelving like this for a long time now. Finally I have it! The stationary rack was in stock and available for installation on the next available appointment date. We, however, wanted one of the hoist/elevator (manual) racks. This option is more expensive, and apparently CDR doesn't keep them in stock. Our installation date was pushed out twice because of ordering and shipping delays. And communication wasn't very timely. It would be nice to have a little more notice if appointments have to be postponed. Furthermore, we wound up with a different colour hoist/elevator rack, at a higher price, that they were able to obtain from a different vendor than they normally use. Overall, we are happy with the products. Our installer was GREAT! He was on time and worked very efficiently. We may consider another stationary rack; if we do, we will call CDR again. read more
