So happy this place is finally open! My friends and I love Whipped and we were so excited to hear that they were expanding. The new place is gorgeous with plenty of seating. I was craving a crepe and found this place on Yelp. I got the Classic which is banana Nutella and strawberries but I opted for no banana. The staff was really nice, the service was good and the decor was cute but I was really disappointed by my crepe! It completely fell apart and was not flavorful. I don't know how it was possible to make something with Nutella and powdered sugar lack in flavor, but it just wasn't very tasty. Stopped in for lunch based on reviews & it's not far from Riverview. Not impressed. They served us WARM tap water NO ice. Guessing that's there way of charging .25 cents for ice. I received that up charge with my daughters $6.25 iced macchiato. The tomato soup was delicious, short rib grilled cheese lacked flavor & the side salad was a bit wilted & not very appetizing. We stopped by for an early Monday morning breakfast and we're not disappointed. Creative menu with a French twist. Started with giant cups of cafe latte. Tried the croque Madame and the potato bacon cheese pancakes. I normally do not eat pancakes at all but theses were the perfect balance of savory and sweet. The new store, as it was originally named "Whipped" and located down the street, is gorgeous inside. I am giving it a four star for two reasons. The first is small, I asked for no whipped cream and I had some on my plate, and it was melted by the time it got to me. Secondly, I am not sure about the new style. We had a waitress, which was not there at the old location. All she did was take our order, but I felt as though it was mandatory to tip. I normally do tip a dollar or two in the tip cup, but I felt as though it was now mandatory to tip, and it was converted into a restaurant style from the previous "seating optional" feel it had. We went on a Saturday around 11:30 AM and it was pretty busy but we got seated right away. I ordered the Mocha Caffe and my friend ordered the Caramel Macchiato (medium). They were both very delicious and I like the fact that our waitress brought them in "to go" cups because I never finish my coffee by the time I'm done eating breakfast. I ordered the breakfast crêpe with eggs bacon and cheddar cheese and my friend ordered the fiesta crêpe. Both delicious. They came with a small side of fruit. The only thing we didn't like was the side of hashbrowns. They were very bland and didn't have much taste. It seems like Erica clearly has a problem with people who don't share her taste buds and only cares about 5 star reviews on Yelp, as evidenced by the 10% discount offered on 5 star reviews (I mean, isn't this just like paying for false reviews?). The food came out pretty fast we started with the French onion soup piping hot tasteful and the bread in it was toasted and was great, but the hickory smoked thick bacon strips were absolutely sinful and tasted so good that one couldn't stop eating them. Even though it was a late lunch we forgot and made early dinner because the appetizers were so good my better half went with the skirt steak done medium and it came out perfect great quality beff tender and great flavor, very large cut so she didn't mind that I kept asking to taste it. My seafood crepe was very tasty as well with a very generous amount of very fresh tasting shrimp,crab meat and scallops. Great experience and to top it all prices are reasonable. In all honesty for me, this place is 3.5/5 stars. It's a cute but tiny little shop. There are a variety of sweet and savory crepe choices not to mention that they also have ice cream and milkshakes available. We got a classic sweet Nutella strawberry banana crepe and the savory sausage egg and cheese breakfast crepe. Both were good but nothing above and beyond amazing. Good place to check out if your in Red Bank and people want both sweet and savory. The only thing that really BUGGED me about this place was that the YELP stars may be skewed in the restaurant's favor because the place offers 10% off to anyone who gives them a 5 STAR review... like come on?!
