I hadn't been here in many years, but suddenly started craving a salad. I was promptly greeted when I went in. Placing my order only took a minute, and there was a little discount for paying with cash instead of a card. The place appeared pretty clean and tidy (though I did come in right after opening). The pizza was delicious! The crust is thin and crispy with the right amount of sauce and cheese. The meat sauce on the mastacchioli was amazing. And their garlic bread was so good. My kids (2 boys ages 11 and 14) loved it too. Between the 4 of us, we had a deluxe pizza, a cheese pizza, a mastacchioli pasta, and 2 orders garlic bread. I highly recommend it. We were seated quickly and helped quickly. The food came out quickly. I would say the ambiance is a little retro with 80s music playing. read more

Wow! I just ordered a medium cheese pizza for carry out. It was to be ready in 20 to 30 minutes. I arrived in about 15 minutes and when the pizza was handed to me, I could tell it was barely warm. Got home in less than 10 minutes and could tell this pizza had been a leftover or something. Cheese was so dried and pizza crust was tough. It will be a long time before I go back. read more

Awful! After receiving a piece of plastic in my last pizza, I figured I could give them another shot after I heard they were under new ownership, and new management. I called to order a pizza, and the guy on the phone was extremely rude. Heard tons of cussing in the background, and he gave me my total and hung up. The total seemed extremely high, so I called back up there to cancel the order, and he asked tons of questions about why I was canceling, and finally told me to never call back again.. fine by me buddy, I got 2 xl pizzas from stl pizza and wings, for cheaper than one medium and one large from Cecil's.. this place is on borrowed time.. If St. Louis Style Pizza is your thing, than Cecil's is another home town favorite to go. On my most recent visit, I tool advantage of their 2 XL deal and chose to get Bacon and Italian Sausage. I ordered ahead for carry out and when I arrived the pizzas were hot and ready. When I got out to my car the aroma of fresh pizza permeated my car. If I didn't have to drive I would have dove head first into the boxes but I showed complete restraint. When we returned to our room however, I had to have a few pieces before the pizzas were put away, because they we going to make the long journey back home with me to Florida. We have dined in many times and have tried many of the other items on the menu, toasted raviolis being one of my favorites, but the pizza for me is always the star. Wow very overpriced and Fazoli's has better pasta. Spent 46 to feed 2 people - 2 pathetic small pastas , crappy salads, no bread, and underdone zucchini sticks. I really wish I could give a better score... I've been here a few times to eat inside, and another time or two for pick-up. One time there was maybe 3-4 other tables occupied and one evening I recall we were the only ones there. Not the best sign of a place that is doing well if you know what I mean. This most recent night we ordered 2 pizzas. Let me first say that I really wanted to like this pizza, and I have had Cecil's at other locations that were really good, but it had been a long time since I've been to this location or any CWP for that matter. As for this location however... I don't really know how to put it. It wasn't terrible, but the pizza just lacked flavor and the toppings were extremely scarce. Not only that but WOW was it thin! With the sauce cheese and toppings 3/8th of an inch is a generous guesstimate of how thick this pizza was. Now I realize that is of course St louis style THIN crust, but I really feel like for the amount of food you get and the price you pay it just doesn't make it worth it. For example an extra large pizza costs between $17 and $27 depending on topping count. The trouble is that an extra large pizza just about anywhere else is going to be 3-4 times as much food and usually cost less than $20. Our server was extremely nice however and I could tell he was doing his best to stay on top of things despite there seemingly only being at most 3 people working there. Pizza came out fast so again, service was stellar as far as I'm concerned, but it just was an overall bland experience. I hope for the best out of this location and I would really like to see them succeed. Its always nice to have more "fast" food options to choose from, especially pizza nearby, but I'm afraid its going to take some pretty big changes to make a name for themselves at this location. read more

This spots pizza was SUPER greasy and the cheese was practically falling off. It seemed like the cheese was the type you dip chips in ( queso, fondue, REALLY CREAMY CHEESE, etc.) The restaurant was super dirty and we could barely find a table that was clean to sit at. VALLEY PARK CECILS -i guess a take out order doesnt get the same food or attention as an eat in order !! The roast beef sandwich with au jus and a side salad was ordered. i got 2 dry pieces of leather on a dry hard crusty bun. the side stuff, lettuce onion tomato pickle was wrapped up in a wadded foil ball and looked like some ones left overs. was very little there and the yellow lettuce piece to put on the sandwich was an inch by inch square... the salad was yellowing lettuce with nothing on it and a side of dressing. NO au jus came with it . i asked what came eith the sandwich and was told nothing...but was given BURNT to a dry hollowing french fries. We will never eat there again. I returned minutes after opening the food and asked for a refund was met with someone who thought it was funny and refused to let me speak to a manager or return my food. When i called later to speak to a manager he said he left a message with the manager to NEVER hear from them. I placed a carry out order around 6:55pm on 4/8/2022. I sat there for almost an hour!! I understand it's Friday and they might be busy that didn't bother me what did was my food was 100% WRONG. We noticed the food was wrong after we got home and got our animals taken care of. We went to sit down and have dinner when I noticed my chicken sandwich was missing everything!!! It was just bread cheese and chicken. There should have been lettuce mayo and pickles plus French fries according to the website!!! My hot wings didn't even come with ranch when we asked for it!!!! This restaurant has really struggled of late. They only recently re-opened their dining room after it was closed for (assumed) difficulty hiring staff. I ordered take out and there appeared to be two employees working. I nearly hopped behind the counter to start helping the poor gal. Our food was not great - the pizza was very dry and appeared to have no sauce. The wings were ok but also no extra sauce and no way to request them "wet" online. Came in after a wedding for the reception, sampled pretty much everything. Lots of the pizzas where what I would say is "Saint Louis style" the cheese definitely. The crust I felt was lacking something, some of the flavors seemed a bit off like the pizzas with green peppers on them. I wasn't a fan of the fried ravioli. The service was great, but the food wasn't outstanding. The pizza wasn't horrible or anything, just not amazing. I'm sure it compares to a few local restaurants where I'm from. I enjoy going to the Creve Coeur location. Food and service are always consistently good. Servers have nice personalities and go a little extra to please customers. Holy mother is this place slow. Consistently. Almost like they are putting an effort into not delivering food. When you place an order and already have an hour wait time it's bad but understandable. When it turns into an hour and a half ... TWO HOURS... not a phone call or anything from them...then your food shows up the temp of something that was cooked an hour and a half ago. I don't know how they stay in business at this location because every other place in the area beats them bad. And online they force you to tip before your food even arrives. We order every week, usually on Friday nights, but ordered last night 10/28/21 and ordered the same as usual - 2 large 2 topping 11.99 specials at about 630 ish. I ALWAYS order mine with EXTRA sauce and it might as well had none on it, it was a dry disgusting pizza and a waste of money! We had actually stopped ordering the past 2 or 3 weeks because I cannot seem to get what I want, I do not want a dry ass pizza - hence why I always order extra sauce from wherever I order a pizza from. I typically spend 100.00 + a month in your establishment and would love to be able to get something so simple as extra sauce on my pizza! Not enough staff to handle a full dining room on Friday night. Their pizza is great when hot, but it came out warm at best. One daughter ordered pasta with white sauce instead of marinara or meat sauce, it came out mixed sauce and their "marinara " was actually meat sauce...she's a vegetarian. My other daughter ordered spaghetti with marinara instead of meat sauce, but the undertrained and overworked waitress thought their meat sauce could be categorized as marinara. We finally asked for a to go box for the girls since our pizza was long gone, and they were too busy to do that. Heard plenty of other tables complaining as well...just not staffed properly and this was a big fail on our dining experience. Got this from our server the next day: I'm the waitress from Cecil Whittaker's and I want to let you know that it's ILLEGAL to walk out without paying your full bill. You have NO right to complain. First of all we had a boom of people come in at once, we were busier than we normally get. My manager would normally help me out but he was slammed too. Second of all, I'm sorry the kitchen messed up the pasta, but it was a misunderstanding. Our "meat sauce" and our "marinara" are the SAME. You have to order PIZZA sauce for it to be meat free. You should also SPECIFY DIETARY NEEDS IF YOU HAVE THEM. You are the worst kind of people. Never, ever come back. You're trash. 1) I left $36 for a $40.xx bill with a note "-25% for very poor experience + $6 tip for overworked server." 2) definition of marinara via google: Marinara sauce involves tomatoes, garlic, herbs, and onions. Like most dishes, there are some variations. ... While you can add quite a few things to marinara sauce and still call it marinara sauce, it never contains meat, anchovies, or cheese. It's on the staff to say they don't actually have marinara and that their red sauce has meat. We ordered marinara sauce and she said OK. 3) we just sucked it up and ate our non-hot pizza, as they were clearly understaffed. 4) we had a very slow and poor experience, I had the right to complain, and the server called me trash via Yelp. I visit this location somewhat frequently and have inconsistent experiences, but most the time it is mediocre. The food is usually decent, but I usually don't have a craving to go here. It is more often an issue of convenience when dinner ingredients aren't available at home. Typically we go on Tuesdays or Thursdays when they have cheese pizza deals. It is a cheap meal for the kids, but they of course make it up on the adults. Last night when we went, I noticed how skimpy they were with toppings. I had pepperoni and onions. Surprisingly they skimped out on the onions. Usually there is an obnoxious amount of onions compensating for the lack of meat, but not last night. Otherwise, the pizza did taste good. My other beefs I had last night and this is typical for this location is the service and cleanliness of the dining room. We sat down and it took over five minutes of the waitress walking back and forth before greeting us. She went out of her way to not make eye contacts as if that would make her invisible to us. The service was somewhere between a buffet and good table service. It seems like every time we visit they are short handed, so maybe it wasn't here fault. The other problem is the cleanliness of the dining room and this problem may stem from the lack of staff. I love chicken wings, but one of the most repulsive things when sitting at a table is a chewed apart chicken bone. We had the pleasure of a couple of them under the table; very appetizing. As I looked around, I noticed several dirty tables and one person seating themselves wiping off their table. As a treat my husband ordered two xlarge pizzas for a special Saturday night. We really can't afford to eat out often so the family was very excited. When the pizzas were picked up and brought home the disappointment began. Both pizzas had incorrect toppings. Looking at the pizzas the general opinion was they were very lacking in toppings. Both were suppose to have sausage but only one did. And the one that did had a tiny piece of sausage and if I were to guess about 1/4 cup for the entire pizza if that. The second pizza had mushrooms and onion only. I would let this slide this time if it hadn't happened the time before this as well. Trying to find a slice with a tiny piece of sausage was the challenge. Thirty dollars for two pizzas with nothing to speak of on them...there are other pizza restaurants around. Rude manager on the phone will keep us from ordering from there again. We had used a restaurant.com coupon and a promotional coupon through the restaurant last month with no problem. We tried to do it again and this time the manager got on the phone and was very defensive and rude about it. He was acting like we were trying to pull a fast one on the restaurant by using both coupons which apparently you can't do. We understand rules and fine print but it could have been explained in a much better manner. Maybe St. Louis pizza just isn't my favorite. Or maybe it's just not good here. I tried the the deluxe but removed the bacon and green pepper adding pepperoni and anchovies. First the Provel cheese tended to overpower the other ingredients. The sauce was thick and very tomato flavored more like a tomato paste without a lot of other flavor to it. Independently the sausage and pepperoni didn't have a much spice which is why they were overpowered by the cheese and sauce. Had the onions and mushrooms been more plentiful I might have been able to taste them too. The crust was nice and thin and crunchy. The Zwickle draft recommendation from Madasyn was very good. Service was outstanding. In all fairness I believe that I'm just not a fan of St. Louis style pizza. If this is the best it gets, I'd opt for more New York, Chicago or Neapolitan. read more

When I got it home one of the pizzas had the wrong toppings and the salad was wrong. It was COVERED with black olives which weren't supposed to be on it. Everything was cold. This place has been repeatedly ridiculous over the years, but my family still eats here. Their portions have decreased on their pasta dramatically while their prices have of course increased. The food is inconsistent in quality each time. Sometimes it's great and others inaccurate. Now, they won't even honor a coupon from their own location's website. They claim to have no knowledge of the coupon when we have ordered it online several times. Their website glitches a lot, and currently we are locked out of both accounts for too many password attempts. One we only tried the one time. Since we couldn't order online like normal we called it in, and they wouldnt honor the coupon. Just kept saying the manager wouldn't honor it and wasnt aware of it. I told them we order online with this very coupon all the time. Either they don't care or they are stupid. I suggested they look on their own website for their own coupon but of course didn't. If it were up to me we would never order here again. I am sick of the unnecessary bs. This is only about half of the dumb crap we've been thru with them over the years. Do NOT order online from Cecil Whittakers! I ordered a lunch special (just salad and a small pizza) and it took over an HOUR to be delivered. I am a teacher in the area and only get a certain amount of time to eat and it didn't get here in time. When I called to complain they said, "Yeah, you shouldn't order online. They should be there any minute." It was another 10 minutes until I called again and they said "it should be there any minute." I couldn't believe that they wouldn't offer an apology or anything. We have gone here at least once a month for years (mostly carry out). We won't be going back. The service was beyond terrible. They brought our drinks & said they couldn't remember what was diet & what was regular so they told us to taste them. Then they messed up our order & brought us the wrong pizzas. The waitress admitted it & shrugged it off. We were the only people in the restaurant & only one carry out came in so it wasn't because they were busy. Took us 40 minutes for our food however my husband saw the staff eating our incorrect pizza in the kitchen from our table. The waitress & cooks were arguing, using bad language & loud. Totally inappropriate behavior, we were there with kids. We never had anyone come to fill our drinks. When I complained to the manager about our service he played dumb at first & then got defensive. Overpriced. $43 for 5 meals. I liked the Cavatelli but my dad thought it was plain (boring) and I thought it should have cost $4.99 instead of $6.99 for shells in alfredo sauce. Something was wrong with the $7.99 lasagna; it tasted a bit sour to me and my sister but my mom liked it so I guess her taste buds are dead from eating spicy food all her life. My sister liked the $6.99 roast beef sandwich but not the fries. My 7 year old liked the $6.99 small cheese pizza. My 9 year old liked the $6.99 meatball sub. My dad tried a little bit of everything and shared the roast beef sandwich. The delivery guy was nice. The girl who answered the phone could have been nicer but I guess when you make less than $10/hr you don't have to be nice. read more

We have been a big fan of Cecil's for a long time. When the food is prepared right, it is delicious. Unfortunately, our last three experiences ordering out haven't been up to par. In the last three times I have ordered food for delivery, each time it took a minimum of hour (the website said up to 45 minutes) and in two of the three times the food was cold and/or overcooked. The most recent incident occurred last night when I ordered a pizza, salad, t-ravs, and cheese sticks. After waiting an hour (which has been the norm for delivery, despite my living literally one minute away) I only received our luke warm pizza. When I notified the delivery driver that we were still missing the rest of our order, he was very apologetic and promised to return with it right away. After waiting another 25 minutes (bringing our total wait time to an hour and a half from the time I ordered) I called to cancel our order and get reimbursed. The manager on the phone said he could not remiburse me, but would promise to apply a credit toward my account. First of all, he should have given me my money back-I don't believe that it wasn't possible to do. He is the manager, I have never heard of a manager not having such privileges. Secondly, the apporporate thing to do was to credit all of my order since it was not only late, but cold and incomplete. I plan to go back to Cecil's, at some point, but unless management does a better job of handling orders and customer service, it will not be for a long time. read more

I'm not sure what has happened to this location with the quality of food and service. Used to be an above average pizza and pasta restaurant. The past 4 times I've dinned in the food and service has been terrible. The restaurant looks like a tornado came through, the bathroom was very dirty, the AC was not working, and loud rock music was being played from the kitchen.
