I ordered pork chop medium. came out over cooked. didn't care for the soy honey sauce either. i ordered the baked potato side. server came back informed kitchen was out of baked potatoes. 5 oclock and very few people in the place and your out of baked potatoes? Ordered pasta as replacement. Waiter suggested the pink sauce.. ordinary almost like box pasta.. kicker--when the bill came, 2.00 upcharge was added for the "pink" sauce. seriously? 160.00 bill and you nickle and dime us 2.00 because you added a tablespoon of marinara to the cream pasta which is one of the sides. read more

Tried out St. Louis style Pizza for the first time! Thin, cracker-like crust, very similar to Chicago Tavern style but featuring "Provel" cheese; a processed blend of Swiss, Cheddar and Provolone! The rich creaminess and unique flavor of the Provel shines since the crust is so thin, which is the beauty of this style of pie so to me, this was excellent. The fried raviolis had a crispy and flavorful batter and the garlic butter cheese was dense but tasty. Service was very friendly and food came out at a reasonable pace. This was my first time eating at the Bartolino's Twin Oaks location and I was super impressed and it was even better than the Hill and South Lindbergh locations that are great too and I've ate at those several times over the years. I ordered the Tortellini Piselli that is pasta shells stuffed with beef and pork and finished in a delightful sauce of peas, mushroom, prosciutto, cream and Parmesan cheese. My friend had a plate of Rigatoni with Italian sausage that I tried a bite of and was deliciousness as well and the pasta had a very garlicky sauce as well that I want to go back for soon. I'll probably opt to dine at this Twin Oaks location from now on, it's more elegant but still warm and inviting than the other locations. The Shrimp was excellent; the four stars were because it takes forever to get a drink from the bar; I think our small party of eight waited at least 25 minutes. When the drinks were served we placed our second order because of the wait. The Old Fashioned's were just okay. Service was great and unfortunately I don't remember his name. My family is back at Bartolino's for a birthday party. We have a large table in the back room which was nice. Their were 11 of us and the table was a good size for our group. The waiter was friendly and did a good job of taking care of us. We are a pretty high maintenance group. The drinks were good and appetizers were very good. I usually get the Tortellini Pisseli which is always excellent. I tried a new dish tonight, the Short Rib Ragu Pappardelle. It wasn't as good as the tortellini and I felt that it needed to have more flavor. All in all, a good time was had by all. read more

We had a really nice time here for brunch. I have really enjoyed the experiences at their location off of Hampton, food is always good and this new spot was no exception. The space is nice and open, and it was pretty busy. We sat at a 4 top and had some good options for brunch, including a classic brunch menu and San Martino brunch. They have a drink menu as well, but I only ordered water a a cappuccino. Espresso was good! My meal was the caprese omelette, the burrata sold me! It came with toast and their breakfast potato. First, the parking can be a nightmare. It's shared with so many businesses and depending on the time, you may park far. The resturant is very nice, inside and out. I came for lunch with a friend and we were seated right away. Since we came during lunch, we are pretty light. We both ordered a salad and my celebs had soup. Our server was a little slow to icky have a few tables and so it took a minute for her to come around but she was nice. We sat in the area that looks like a patio and it was very loud. Not because of the music but with everyone talking, it was hard to for me and my friend to hear each other during conversions. Outside of that, the food was cooked very well. Went out for a nice dinner with my wife and our out-of-town visitors, wanted to find a nice restaurant that represented St. Louis well and this place DID NOT disappoint! All 4 of us got different meals, from lasagna to salmon fettuccine, risotto and toasted ravioli... Everything was incredible! Presentation, and vibe of the restaurant was very well done. Service was really good too! Waitress was very helpful in finding the right meal for each of us, and gave good insight. I don't think our drinks got below halfway ever. Giving Bartolinos a shot at lunch is a good idea. The place wasn't packed like it is at dinnertime and it still holds up to their quality and customer services. It was quiet until the lunch rush came in but that is normal for all. I had a casesr salad with fried calamari and cannelloni. The cannelloni was cheesy and creamy with a good amount of meat for each bite that made yoi crave for more. I will be returning to try their sandwiches. read more

We went in for a holiday lunch and we're excited to try this newer location. The atmosphere is nice and they have a nice bar area I understand has a happy hour from 3-6 M-F. We both had the same dish for lunch. It was the salad with the grilled tuna. Salad on a week day that took an hr to get. And the restaurant was not busy. Our server was good but obviously the kitchen is either understaffed or poorly organized. The salad was good but we could not figure out what was taking so long. I ordered orange juice and the classic breakfast. The orange juice tastes like freshly squeezed, very delicious. The classic breakfast comes with two eggs, I ordered scrambled, hash browns, three strips of bacon, I asked for extra crispy, and two slices of toast. The eggs were cooked just right. Many parts on the bacon were burnt. I didn't want it that crispy. The hash brown looked like a small brick. The hash brown was crispy but needs seasoning. I asked for the multigrain bread for my toast and it came out perfect. I got excellent service sitting at the bar. I like the look and vibe of this restaurant. I appreciate the prompt service but this was a little annoying to everyone, you could hardly put your fork down without someone coming to ask if you were done. Very off-putting. One star deducted. The food was what you'd expect from a Saint Louis Italian restaurant. Been to one, been to them all. But good selection on the whole from what you'd expect, not a huge menu, but I'm sure everyone could find something there. Value for money? Meh, not really the best. The atmosphere of this restaurant is beautiful, and there's much potential. I have come for brunch twice now, and both times have been disappointed. Unfortunately this morning, I ordered the biscuits and gravy (recommended by our waitress), and the sunny-side up egg was extremely unappetizing. I was afraid of getting sick so we did not eat the dish. We then overheard the table next to us telling their server that they also had a situation with their dish (the egg white omelet came out with egg whites so thin and runny that the guest described it as "snot"). My friend today ordered avocado toast and it had way too much lime on it - it tasted like guacamole, which is not appropriate for brunch dish. I'm hoping the kitchen can get brunch figured out because this area could really benefit from a solid brunch spot, but currently they have some work to do. read more

I was very excited to come here and experience the newest addition in Manchester/ Valley Park area. It is definitely a bit more upscale especially if you look at the decorations inside. However, I think my experience was off put from the beginning. I made a reservation online and the older lady at the check in counter was rather rude. My husband and I asked for a high chair for our 8 month old and she was very annoyed. It was cold outside and we were sit at the first booth right by the door. The high chair they brought out was dirty and looks unsafe. Along with the fact that it stick out and I was worry everyone would bump into the high chair.... so my husband and I took turn holding our baby so the other could eat. I do think that customer service should've been a lot better given they've been opening since October. The food was average/mid. We got couple appetizers and salads to start. The salad is overpriced and doesn't come with your entree. My salmon fettuccine was extremely salty ... I could only eat maybe a third of my plate. My husband's pasta combination was less salty but still more than average. The pork chop special had too much lemon on it, without side pasta it wouldn't be balanced at all. Overall, my wife and I were very pleased with all aspects of this restaurant. We were seated right away and our waiters were very attentive. There were points throughout our dinner where we were waiting for a while for service, but it was due to the fact they were extremely busy. Pasta portions were enough to feed 2-3 people and the salad was the same as well. My wife got the tortellini, but said it lacked some flavor. My Blackened Salmon was cooked perfectly. It had the perfect amount of Cajun flavoring and it got 2 more meals out of this one. We were seated in a more private area of the restaurant which was pretty nice considering how busy it was. Charles our waiter offered drinks right away and took the order for the children and an order of the tiramisu overnight oats for everyone to taste. We were warmly greeted at the front by the manager (we forgot his name) but he was extremely kind and sat us quickly. The food is very good, However, I have learned that there was a mistake on a large parties bill. After paying the bill, it was brought to the parties attention, by management, about the shortfall mistake on their bill. Some in attendance paid extra to rectify Bartolino's mistake. Part of the mistake Bartolino was kind enough to write off. A few folks in the party ask the management if Bartolino's would make the waitress make up ANY part of the shortfall mistake the restaurant made. Management answered "absolutely not! "We would never do such a thing to our staff!" Now comes the part I want future patons to consider BEFORE frequenting this establishment. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. The dining room was busy and had a good vibe. We have watched the build out for a year. The surfaces are all hard and it was noisy and echoed. The menus are too big for the tables. Service was rather slow for the overall meal from seating to check out. Each course seemed to take too long to order and too long to present. The combo appetizer was good - shrimp and crab mushroom were plentiful- T rav mediocre as was cheese stick. House salad was average. Entrees were average in taste - Soul was over saturated in oil so bread crumbs were mush. Chicken modiga was cold - chicken breast was about a 5oz portion for dinner - skimpy for price. Wine selection was good but cocktails were overpriced. Ended with Tiramisu- again - average.
