I first came to know Cedar Dental because I have a son who suffers from dental anxiety. I was told he might need additional sedation, and Cedar Dental informed me they offer both IV and oral sedation. Since I've always been uncomfortable with IV sedation, I was relieved to find there was an oral option. My son initially had a tooth pulled and a bone graft done under oral sedation at Cedar Dental, and we needed to schedule further treatment, including a root canal. I spent about 45 minutes speaking with Dr. Amy Kiesselbach's team, going over the procedure and the multiple future appointments he would need. Lindsay was very helpful in discussing what insurance benefits I had left, and we developed a treatment plan that would allow me to best utilize those benefits. During our conversation, Lindsay verbally quoted me a cost of $776 + $173.60 from insurance, and an out-of-pocket of $557.40. She also called in the prescription for oral sedation, being fully aware of my son's history and our plan to use oral sedation again. Later that day, I received a text with a link to a full written quote, but I didn't realize the link was there and didn't scrutinize the digital version since we had just reviewed everything thoroughly on the phone. Unfortunately, several charges were left out of the verbal quote: a $600 charge for oral sedation, a build-up, and a laser procedure not covered by insurance. On the day of the root canal, I was shocked to learn that my total out-of-pocket was over $1,000, including a previous balance I wasn't aware of. I was not at the appointment and had to give my credit card over the phone before they would begin work on my now-sedated son. A few hours later, I was informed that Dr. Kiesselbach would not complete the procedure because my son, who was under sedation, had reached up in discomfort a few times. Instead of giving him a break, they restrained him and ultimately refused to finish the work unless I paid an additional $2,700 for IV sedation and a crown despite me clearly stating from the beginning that I was not comfortable with IV sedation. I told them I would find another dentist, at which point they informed me that there would be no refund for the incomplete work and that they would still bill my insurance in full. They even admitted they would adjust the coding to ensure they received payment. This entire experience was extremely upsetting. It felt like my child's needs were exploited for profit, and I was manipulated into paying far more than I should have. Thankfully, I found a new dentist who was not only able to complete the root canal without any sedation, but my out-of-pocket cost was only $191. I would not recommend Cedar Dental to anyone, especially parents of children with special needs or anxiety. Transparency and patient care should come before profit, and sadly, that was not my experience here read more

STEER CLEAR OF THIS DENTIST! They say that they accept your insurance and then bill you extra 3 months after the procedure. My insurance states it is covered because this is the amount they have contracted with them. The office claims it is not enough. Then when you complain they say your insurance will cover future procedures but not retroactive. That's some shady business. Tired of their games. read more

i found this dental practice to be unethical. They dropped out of my dental insurance network but did not tell me. I had a general cleaning & x-rays. The dentist recommended additional work for $2118 (my portion) & asked for a deposit ($263).Dental insurer informed me the cost of proposed work was so high because they were no longer in network. I cancelled the future appt. & they said they would refund my deposit. Today I learned they are holding it to cover uninsured cost of cleaning visit. Office manager has not returned my phone call. I'm out of pocket $193 at least & find their financial practices questionable. read more

This was a really great place until it wasn't-- I'm sorry to say they do not honor their work-- I've had multiple crowns they did, fall off; the last one actually broke!! Only 2 years old!! -- I've been told by a second opinion that my crown was faulty-- and Amy and her team said it's due to me grinding...without even looking at the broken crown. Very disappointing! It's going to cost me, but I will be getting my money back eventually. Additionally, Amy allowed an assistant to cement one of my crowns back on (after they repeatedly fell off) she did not even cement the one back on-- but had her assistant do it-- faulty cement and very shoddy work... highly unethical-- sad!! Also this last broken crown cut up my tongue very bad! I am an Art teacher and could not even talk or my tongue would bleed and ulcer-- very very painful and unprofessional that they will not honor their work! read more

Still a 5-star dentistry that I'm exited to go to. After changing insurance and coming back for another cleaning and cavity filling, I can say Amy and her team are still just as lovely and make the whole experience pleasurable. I was pretty nervous to get my cavities filled, but Amy and Janice made it painless, friendly, and fast. Got to watch Jumanji while they worked which was an added bonus. After being to their office 3 times now, and each time being just as nice as the last, I can still firmly say that I will do all I can to keep being their patient. read more

Dr Kiesselbach is Hands down the best dentist walking planet earth. So kind, gentle and really cares about her patients. Venus is the best hygienist as well. She gives you a spa treatment for your mouth. Kelsey and Ashley are amazing assistants that truly care about each patient and make you feel so welcomed. And then there's the amazing Raymond! I won't be going back I went in because I hadn't been to the dentist since Covid started I found her on next door ! ! I went in for my first deep cleaning and my second I had to cancel for a later time because I was ill. I had a tooth that needed pulled that was root canal and crown that she said was getting ready to fall out . She failed to tell me it was the one attached to my lower bridge so I am know without teeth in the lower left side of my face ... also during to tooth pulling she strapped my hands to the arms of the chair as if I were a child mind you I'm 60 I should have got up and left then ..... Why I didn't I don't know !! Then it took her a while to remove the tooth and she said it fell apart in 3 pieces after she told me before that it was getting ready to fall out ! And at the front desk because I had to switch my appointments around they weren't sure how to bill me ! They billed me more for less teeth to clean on my second cleaning ! And said they didn't know why that that's how the insurance works ! Oh and after she pulled my not so loose tooth out she put a sock on my head with an ice pack and expected I'd drive home like that ! How humiliating that experience was ! I was in tears all the way home and still get upset when I talk about it! 9/10/2010 First, let me start with....CRY BABY CHICKEN!! I am nearly 50 years old, and avoid the dentist at all cost. While I don't have bad teeth or ones that give me grieft, I have experienced my share of root canals, crowns, and 2 extractions from other dentists. Many of them were just great, some not so much. I made my appointment with Dr. Amy Kieselbach on a referral from 1 800 Dentist. I needed a cleaning badly (been about 6 to 7 years since my last cleaning and xrays), i have 2 implants i need, and just needed to establish a routine with the dentist to avoid any future problems. Dr. Amy's staff is terrific. I was terrified, nervous, and teary when I responded to questions, and they were so nice and supportive. When Dr Amy arrived I immediately felt at ease, respected and understood. I chose Dr Amy specifically for the sedation denistry that is offered through her office. I'm not a very good dental patient and going to the dentist is terrifying to me. Dr. Amy is so gentle and has such a pleasant and calm demeanor she puts me at ease. Her staff is wonderful especially Raymond who's very kind just like Dr. Amy. I feel very confident in her knowledge and abilities and that she is very skillful in her treatments. Dr Amy is without a doubt, the most amazing dentist I've ever been to. I'm in my 60's, and have had a lot of experience with dentists. She and her staff are awesome and beyond helpful and friendly. The quality of her work is awesome,she even has the equipment to make piece onsite! I started going to her 6 yrs ago, I have never had a bad experience. I can honestly say. Do not go to this dentist. If I could give zero stars I would. Not only are they over priced, they also do not give a cash pay discount. Even worse, my husband had a wisdom tooth that was infected and needed to be pulled. He had already gotten xrays at a previous visit and told all four wisdom teeth needed to be pulled, Even though the other three were completely fine. He called for an appointment to get it pulled and they tried to tell him it would be more expensive because the tooth was impacted. It most certainly was NOT impacted, the whole tooth is erupted and has been for many years. Then, they were going to charge him an extra $230 to X-ray the tooth again before they pulled it. What a scam!! This dentist office is a rip off and will tell you that you need things done, that don't need to be done. We went else where and got the whole thing done for several hundred dollars less and with a 10% cash discount. read more

Surprised there aren't many reviews here. I guess they have responded to the first reviewer as my experience was as good as it gets. Came in for a check up and cleaning. All forms were filled in online prior to visit. Insurance all done prior to visit. Walked in and got x-rays completed, Dr. Amy examined my teeth, gums and mouth. She cleaned my teeth and DH did the polishing. Staff was friendly and more than helpful. I felt like I have been going to Dr. Amy for years and not my first visit. Recommend. read more

I visited Dr. Amy at Cedar Dental for the first time today. My family has been wanting to find a new dds for awhile, but there are so many choices here in Rocklin, and it's hard to make a change. Let me just say, I am SO glad I did! They have a lovely office, up-to-date equipment, and offer additional services to help with "anxious" patients (like myself!) But most importantly, they are a delightful team. Dr. Amy is kind, and thorough, and gentle. My nerves calmed down pretty quickly. And although I know I am going to miss-spell names, (I apologize and you can correct me at my next visit) Kaitlyn was WONDERFUL ! Not only was her interaction with Dr. Amy seamless throughout the procedure, she was also kind, and could instantly tell if I needed some type of adjustment. And let me just say putting on one of my favorite movies w/ear plugs was a huge bonus! Brittney and Raymond were also just wonderful humans--caring, thorough, put me instantly at ease.
