This is how a meal should be when you ask for pick up. Everything packaged well, great customer service and all of the food smelled wonderful. My wife had the Chicken kabob with wheat bulgar. I almost regretted getting the rice once I tasted the bulgar. I had the Chicken Shwarma with rice and it was also excellent. Both entries were a very good portion (we will have another full meal out of it )and they came with a fresh piece of bread. We had the house salad and lentil soup along with an order of Boorak Potatoes appetizer. I have never had this type of dish and it was great. We plan on coming back and trying some more of the appetizers to see if they are just as good. This is a wonderful place to get a meal if you want fresh food at a very reasonable price. read more

What a phenomenal restaurant and patio. The service was amazing, the restaurant is family owned and you can tell that everyone working prioritized customers and maintained a great ambience. Benny who I think is one of the younger sons and wasn't technically our server literally made our night with comped hummus and recommendations for sides!! On top of the service they had this really spacious covered patio with heat lamps etc. It was the middle of October and they made it comfortable to eat outside, plus it's BYOB! Finally the food was 5/5, you could tell it was authentic Lebanese cuisine and also the servings were massive. on top of this it was super well priced. I would definitely recommend the spinach pies which are a Lebanese delicacy, as well as the baba ghanouj and hummus. The Shawarma was also amazing and they give you literally 8 pounds of rice as a side. My friends who are vegetarian loved the grilled vegetable options. This place is fantastic. It is a little pricey. But they give you a lot for the money. I have had both the mixed grill lunch plate and the Shish Tawook. Both are fantastic. The offer of bulgar wheat instead of rice is also really good. My wife has also had the babaganoush and really likes that as well. I have eaten here multiple times now and have always enjoyed it. I was here today having lunch and Salvana gave me her Ma'mouniyeh and her Knafeh to try. Omg! They were so good. These are dishes that she makes for brunch. Fantastic restaurant. I have been struggling to find an outdoor restaurant in the area with quality food in a cuisine that's not general American food like every place on Wells. Not only that. The food was so good. We split a salad fatoush with chicken & the Kafka kebab plate. The oven baked pita chips on the salad wee so unique and so fricken good. Only let down we're the grape leaves appetizer, which were average but still good. Also, the restaurant is located in a wealthy neighborhood, so I am 95% sure I saw rapper Chief Keef walking with his kids and his nanny. Found this absolute GEM in December and have been back many times since. Fantastic BYOB spot in Lincoln Park! I can not wait to go back when the patio is open in the spring/summer. It is so cute! The food is delicious and the portions are super generous. And you can't beat the price! The Lentil soup is a must. I had many vegetarian options to choose from which made me gleeful #blessed. I come here with my BFF when we're fixing to get stuffed and go splitsies on a bottle of wine. The best part of each experience has been the staff. First time I thought, wow our server was awesome!! No matter how many times I eat at Cedar Palace, I never get enough of their delicious, subtly flavored dishes. Thanksgiving was even a new experience for me, as I was one of the lucky ones who ordered their special Mediterranean turkey dinner. Each dish was specially created, not on their regular menu but worthy of being on a menu of its own. The nuanced flavor of the turkey itself was a delightful surprise, imbued all the way through even through the last bit of leftover in the refrigerator! Turkey just doesn't normally hold a flavor that deep or that long, but this one did. The special stuffing was another delight, concocted of delicate rice and beef, again flavorful to the last bite, which lasted days due to its incredible abundance. The entire main course was presented table-ready and picture perfect, with piles of pomegranate and fresh parsley decorating each corner and toasted almonds spread throughout the platter. Even the almonds had a special flavor I couldn't identify but enjoyed with each bite. That describes only the main course; the sides were equally special in both flavor and abundance, ending with a smooth, satisfying dessert that resembled a pillow made of many layers of micro philo dough filled with a pure heavenly center. We went last night as we saw it advertised for Chicago Restaurant Week. We lived in the area 25 years ago so we were excited to see the old neighborhood - west Lincoln Park by Halsted and Armitage. Small, quaint, friendly, and authentic / high feelings, good heat ( it was freezing outside!), and our server was friendly and lovely. So we did the $42 restaurant week dinner- the meal starts w c carafe of water and complimentary tea and pita bread!! Amazing- how nice to get more than you expect for a change! The wife had lentil soup and I started w a pickled type of cabbage salad - very nice - I made a sandwich with the salad and the pita - I should say u can get strong coffee instead of the tea - it's included in the restaurant week special - but there's no cream - it's supposed to be taken black so I opted for the tea.... Ok next course I got yogurt w mint and oil on top and the wife got the eggplant purée. When dipped in all that pita it really hit the spot - perfect w the tea! Next course ( included w the $42) I got beef kebab and the side got chicken kebab - I got mine w bulgar ( a thick couscous like sensation) and the wife had hers w Persian yellow rice - we both had double the meat we expected - neither of us could possibly finish all they gave us! Our meat was incredibly tender - must have marinated for hours!!! Soooo good. Our dishes also came with a toasted onion, tomato, and a green pepper. My wife's came with a garlic sauce that was kinda buttery - it was amazing - she was worried it was too fattening so I took it and dipped my beef and bulgar in it. Then w the $42 you also get desert! I got rice pudding which was sweet and cold w cinnamon on top - really perfect / and the wife got baklava - it was amazing! We will definitely go back - what I liked was that as we were there it got pretty busy but the waitress was so unfazed and welcoming, she came back numerous times to make sure we were happy. We went at 5:30 - I think this is a good time to beat the crowd. The food is outstanding and the portions are crazy big - bring your appetite! read more

This place is a hidden gem. We sat in the patio area which is so cute. We started off with the spinach and cheese pie. The bread was so yummy. Got to try to falafel sandwich, the kefta kabob plate, and the lunch combo. The falafel was very moist and light and so delicious. The lunch combo had shish tawook, the kafta kabob, and the shawarma with veggies and tried it with the bulgar wheat. Everything was so flavorful. Also tried the garlic sauce, tahini, and hot sauce. Found this hidden gem on Yelp the other day, looking for byob places on the north side. A great find! Cute, cozy, comfortable space in an old building. Excellent Middle Eastern food and super nice and friendly, welcoming staff. Food is first-rate. I had the chicken shwarma and my friend had a vegetarian combo that included babaganoush, hummus, dolmas, tabouleh and a couple falafel oh and a stick of excellent feta. All excellent, and a great plate to share in combo with my chicken dish....which was tender and juicy and served with grilled tomato, onion and pepper. Prices are very reasonable.
