    Potato skins

Cedar Tavern is hands down the best bar in the area. Best prices, best food. It's not quite a dive, but close enough, just without the sticky floors. Super casual, but always clean. They have a nice patio area as well. I love all of the bartenders who are attentive and no nonsense. I've never had a bad meal here. The potato skins are great: huge, full of cheese and always served piping hot. The menu has all kinds of appetizers, sandwiches and pizza. Sometimes the wait for food can be a minute but staff will always tell you in advance how long to expect on food and the wait is usually only when they are super busy or have a ton of carryout orders. The drinks are cheap and plenty, with a decent selection of local beer which is nice if you don't have time to make it to one of the breweries. One of my favorite things about Cedar is that it is decidedly NOT a tourist bar - something that's hard to find in the area. When you go there you feel at home. We've met several people there over the last couple of years, some of whom have become good friends.

This is located on the South end of Lake Leelanau and on the water overlooking boat docks and Gas pump. The only plus is that it is on the waterfront. If you like high price Bar Food then this will be your go to place. We had there "Speciality Fish Taco's and Shrimp Taco. The fish taco was served on a small shell that could have been purchased at Walmart Grocery. The Walleye in the taco may have consisted of an ounce at most and was covered over with cabbage and dressing that made you think it was a vegetarian taco. When you get to the second one the sauce had soaked it so bad you could not even picked it up with out falling apart. The Shrimp Taco was over cooked/ boiled that it was like eating Rubber. The price was $17.50!! If eating on the lake is your thing there are other places on Lake Leelanau that will make you want to come back again. If you want to stop in for gas (7.50) a gallon and have a small soda drink for $3.75 then it a must stop for you. Tourist beware this will not be a dining experience that you will tell all your friends back home. Just remember I told you so. If you see great reviews just remember it is run by family, children and grand children so take the reviews with suspicion This has been under two different names in the past few years that should tell you something. Vacationers have a great time this summer and enjoy this beautiful part of Michigan.

We had wanted to sit on the rooftop to enjoy the views but it wasn't opening until 4PM so we didn't get to experience that. The clam chowder was on special so I ordered that to start with some peel and eat shrimp, cold- you can get them hot or cold and they were perfectly done and the cocktail sauce wasn't so strong that it overpowered the shrimp which was appreciated. My husband and I shared the trout basket and they were very lightly breaded, not greasy at all and well seasoned. My son ordered a cheeseburger and raved about it so much that he told our waitress on the way out that it was 5-star worthy. Note: he orders burgers everywhere we go so I trust his judgement . It was cooked how he asked- medium rare- and was thick and juicy to top it off. If you're looking for a spot with friendly service and delicious food- it's a must try in Sutton's Bay.

I started with their Seafood Chowder ($10) this is said to be loaded with Shrimp, Clams and Crab. I could identify these things individually, however taste wise it was excellent.  I definitely wished the cup of it had been bigger. Price seems a little steep for portion size, but no complaints taste wise. I then ordered their Fried Chicken ($19) this had Golden-Fried Breast, Drum and Thigh with Mashed Potato and asparagus. The chicken was excellent, well seasoned and crispy, but still juicy. The asparagus was cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were undercooked. A little harder then I prefer them to be, but edible and at least it was real potatoes. The service was great. Super cheerful and helpful. They accidentally put someone else order on my bill and they corrected it with cheer. Overall a couple minor issues, but still a solid 4 star review for me. Would I return? Absolutely!

We ordered the cheese curds and some onion rings for apps, and they came out quickly and were very good. The food got mixed reviews from everyone in our party. While the food was average or not great for some, our server was helpful and doing her best to keep up, and we all were fed and got to enjoy dinner together. There was live music out on the deck, and lots of outdoor seating (the weather was just a little cool on this day). Be aware you will get charged a credit card fee if you pay with card, and they do not split bills for groups (that part was well-communicated). There is plentiful parking in a lot which is really nice since parking in town can be tough.

His response was, verbatim: "If you owned a business, you would understand we are trying to turn tables." The place was half empty. Instead of simply saying they couldn't put the game on or that they needed the table, he escalated the situation and verbally attacked the dad in front of his kids, even calling him an "a-hole" for asking to watch the USA play in the World Cup at a bar and grill. That tells you everything you need to know about how this place treats customers. Rude, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary. There are plenty of better options in Glen Arbor. Go to Art's instead -- better food, better atmosphere, and they actually seem to appreciate the people spending money in their place.

The service was painfully slow; the young woman waiting on our table was stretched way too thin. It took about 15 min to order drinks and another 15 before they came. We ordered fries to share and burgers, subbing side salads since it sounded delish. Fries came out lightning fast but the portion was TINY for $10 - we had to flag down our waitress to order a second round of drinks (which she didn't even stop to ask if we wanted the same or not, just sprinted away and put them in); when she returned with this round we ordered more fries (accepting we would end up paying $30 for fries...absurd). Burgers came out; as mentioned before these were delish -6oz is a great size and bun was quality. Side salad portion was pathetic. About 6 lettuce pieces with a few toppings sprinkled on. After finishing, we again flagged down the waitress as she blew past and asked for the check. We got the bill and were appalled. For the drinks (vodka with a splash of cranberry; tequila with soda and a splash of lemonade; scotch on the rocks; all served in small cocktail glasses) not only were we charged for the alcohol - but also the mixers as if they were full sized glasses of cranberry and lemonade instead of a 1oz or less splash. Even more ridiculous was being charged for ICE (yes, you read correctly - ICE) in the scotch. Round that out with side salads being priced $1.50 over what was listed on the menu and we concluded we will never be back nor recommend.
