Sorry to have to lower my review for this beautiful restaurant. Called to check on price of corkage and absolutely shocked. $40 absolutely ludicrous. I dine at the finest restaurants in the country in much more elegant establishments and never more than $35. Kind of set the mood of disappointment. Ordered the 16 oz. Ribeye with baked potato. Baked potato was excellent but charging extra for more than butter is ridiculous. The steak thin and a very tiny for 16 oz. Asked for rare plus and came blood rare on sides and medium rare in middle. Hard to cut probably a low grade cut. Unacceptable for higher priced restaurants. Others had seafood over pasta which they said was good. Another diner had scallops seafood dish with bacon and too salty. Orderd couple cocktails just meh. Had a bottle of cab at $46 and about like boxed Franzia. We had an anniversary and all they did was say Happy Anniversary. Usually a high end restaurant brings at least a complimentary scoop of ice cream. Hot dinner rolls were good. Salad bar best thing we had. So for three entees and some drinks $250. Not complaining about price just quality. Didn't post pictures as nothing special here. Will probably never be back. Too bad as in past years enjoyed dining here. The almighty dollar is all that matters here IMO. read more

Had not been here since 1999, and WOW, what improvements have been made! Food and wine was great back then and every bit as good now. Not many restaurants can say that! Service was great, [[HIGHLIGHT]]ambience is almost impossible to beat[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the food amazing! The Cedar Plank Salmon like I had in 1999 was every bit as good today. We had reservations and we had a graduation to go to afterwards. So we were all a little rushed, us, and the servers. Our server was Erika and she had quite a few large tables. But she kept everything moving, which was important. My husband had salmon I had halibut. The prices were OK, I've had better fish. They had a big salad bar, which was nice and had everything. They also brought out a huckleberry ice cream for my granddaughter who was graduating. Also, they let me know. There was gratuity already on as we had a table of nine, which was nice. It had pretty good flavor but too much bacon and potatoes and very little clams. The prime rib was at least 10oz, cooked to order and had nice seasoning and a good flavor on the cap, but a little tough and bland otherwise (certainly not a prime cut). Waters kept full, drinks refilled, nonalcoholic prosecco allowed me to really immerse myself in the bubbly social ambiance, and the floating restaurant itself provided absolutely stunning views! Cedars had been a local favorite for years. Their salad bar and complementary bread rolls are reliably good. The service is always great, but unfortunately our most recent visit here was disappointing. Most of the entrees our table ordered were overcooked, which isn't surprising with how long they took to arrive after being ordered. Our waiter was busy with what seemed to be a large section of tables. To their credit their customer service was great, but each course was delayed a bit resulting in overcooked entrees. Drinks, salad, and appetizers are good, but entrees vary. For the prices of this place, I believe there are far better alternatives in CDA. read more

Our dinner experience was awesome! First, they were able to accommodate our reservation change on the day of our dinner. "No problem, come to the restaurant and we'll get you seated as soon as possible ". They did just that and that was great! Second, all of the food was delicious and the table service was perfect. It's was my 65th birthday and we've never tried Cedars, so we wanted to give it a try. I was in the mood for prime rib and Cedars is known for its prime rib. It was cooked perfectly and so tender. Honestly one of the best prime ribs I've ever had. Even the baked potato, asparagus and huckleberry ice cream were all excellent. Our server, Kayla recommended the scallops, so that's what my wife ordered and love it. She loved it so much she wanted to come back next week. We go to Cedars every year for restaurant week and it's always a great experience. This year it was $45 for a three course meal. I ordered the prawns, the salmon, and the chocolate mousse. I also ordered a huckleberry Moscow mule and the small fishbowl. You can add the salad bar for an extra $10. Total spent on this visit was $85 and I'd happily do it again. 10/10 recommend Cedars for special events or if you just want to treat yourself. read more

Just had a terrible experience here. We come here every year from out of town for our anniversary. This year was a big one, our ten year!! And this time we brought friends and hyped Cedars up- big time. Unfortunately our experience was not good. We waited 30+ minutes just to get it our order taken. When we did get our food, Our friends steak was way over, when we talked to the waitress about it- she went and got her phone and shone her flashlight on it- it was still overdone for his liking and his request, and she was very argumentative about it saying it was just the lighting. He didnt est the steak due to being way too over. My seafood risotto was cold- like sat in the refrigerator cold. Same with our friends, and shrimp was extremely overcooked. And to top it off, my husband was eating a bite of his Alfredo and pulled a hair out of his bite. We weren't going to say anything but after all of these things together we felt like we had to say something. Our resolution was not great either a few dollars off my risotto and NOTHING for my husband biting into pasta with hair in it?! Terrible. I get bad nights happen, however after an accumulation of things and arguing with us when it was enough up to our waitress- we were extremely disappointed, and honestly probably will not go back. It's not like we went to Red Robin and spent $50 on dinner, with a $250+ tab to not have anything at least close to great is crazy. I would no longer recommend this restaurant to anyone unfortunately. read more

Three of us went out for a special pre-Christmas dinner at Cedars floating restaurant in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The weather was chilly however cedars was very warm and inviting. Lots of Christmas lights, and a beautiful decorated tree inside made the evening special.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The water from Lake Coeur d'Alene was very high this time of year and we could see it flowing quickly outside our window. The food was excellent! We had two appetizers: fried asparagus with blue cheese, crumbles and deep fried shrimp with the most amazing sweet hot sauce I had the fried chicken on a bed of mashed potatoes, corn, and squash. It was so savory, we did not leave anything on the plate. The Manhattan cocktail was made with expertise, and the waiter was very charming, prompt and eligible about the menu. The food was so great. Fine dining casually. They had prime rib I had the chicken Alfredo everything was cooked to perfection. Our server was on the ball. The ambiance was beautiful. We were a party of 4. I felt the wait was too long from the seating until the ordering. Then between the salad and the meal. (The blue cheese dressing was watered down and thin). The salad bar was just ok. I ordered a filet. When the main corse came mine came with a sirloin. VERY different cuts of meat! The waiter offered to get me a new steak and said it would take about 15 minutes to remake my meal. Because it was so late, I was going to just keep what they brought. As I started to cut into it, it was mostly fat. So I agreed to wait for a filet steak. He took my entire plate. I asked if he would at least leave my potato, so I had something to eat (with the rest of the table). By the time my new meal came, everyone else was totally finished and the table had been cleared. So now everyone had to wait for me to eat my meal. I think they should have comped the meal or offered a discount of some sort. But they did not. Everyone else's meal was "good - ok". Wonderful describes our dinner for 2. We did have to wait about 10 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, so not too excessive. Pleasant view of the wait staff running around and customers coming and going. We were seated by a window at a table for 4, so plenty of room to be comfortable. Waters came out quickly, followed by our waiter Danny taking drink and hors d'oeuvres orders. First the salad bar. Plates were kept in a cold cabinet and everything looked fresh. Lettuce, mixed greens, sliced cukes, tomatoes, beets, sliced black olives, shredded carrots, etc. About 13 items in all, plus sliced hard boiled eggs, Asian noodles, cheeses, seeds and croutons. There was also a choice of salad dressings including my favorite 1000 Island. For a starter, I chose the 1lb. clams. They were ample in number and served in butter, onions and garlic with a dash of red pepper flakes. Just enough heat for taste without overpowering it. My wife enjoyed the seafood risotto as I did the with my prime rib. I had asked for our dishes to not have salt added where possible, and that's exactly how it was served. The asparagus was steamed and the baked potato was buttered only. Exactly how I wanted it. The prime rib was served an excellent med-rare and was full of flavor.
