1/20/26 I came here as I was in town for work and was looking for something that wasn't all fried and fast food. I ordered their soup of the day which was chili, it was decent, pretty filling, as well as their fried green tomatoes. Food came out quickly and I had it to go since the restaurant closed at 2 PM. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the ambience inside was very casual and welcoming. I didn't realize that I've been here before, but after eating here again brought back memories, and funny how I ordered the same fried green tomatoes as the first time I came in both times they did not disappoint. I don't recall a gift shop but now they have that here. Great one stop shop. read more

The sweetest waitress on the planet with a beautiful southern drawl, friendly, attentive. The fried pickles hit the spot... Best sweet tea you've ever had north of Mississippi... Surf & turf was tasty and a great value; had my first Hot Brown - filling, savory, yummy! Finished it off by inhaling a large delicious slice of lemon Merangue pie- ohhh, I wanted to lick the plate. Hate to give a bad review but the food was extremely salted. Never experienced a restaurant that salted their food this much. Had to stop eating all of it because it was so salty. It could be a little cleaner at each table. read more

If I lived in Lebanon I would eat here every week. The food is home cooked and absolutely delicious. And the service is exceptional. This was our first time to eat here so we stopped in for lunch after we saw the good reviews on Yelp. We were greeted by a very polite young lady who gave us menus and showed us a nice comfortable booth to sit. When our server arrived we asked her what she would recommend we get since we had not eaten there before. She said the Catfish dinner special was very good. It was Fried Catfish with two sides and Cornbread or biscuits for $9.00. I ordered the Catfish with a special of the day side, Street Corn, Fried Squash and Corn Bread Cakes. My wife also ordered the Catfish with Greens, Fried Squash and Corn Bread Cakes. The fish was fried to perfection with just a light breading as also was the squash. My street corn was something I've never had before. It was covered with a white sauce, Sprinkled with Parmesan Cheese and a Lime. It was really delicious. We both had more than we could finish so we asked for togo boxes. We had more than enough for dinner that night. Our server asked us if we wanted a piece of homemade pie, but we had to say no since we had no room. We will return another time and definitely save room for some pie. Ceaderwood gets a solid 4 stars from me. I've eaten here several times and it's always been a great experience. The menu's full of southern-style comfort food that actually delivers--nothing fancy, just good, satisfying meals. The sampler is a personal favorite. It's supposed to be a starter, but let's be honest--if you're hungry, it's a meal. I've tried several different dishes and haven't had a bad one yet. Everything's consistently well-cooked and tasty. The atmosphere is quiet (no shouting over background noise), and the staff are friendly without being over-the-top. It's the kind of place where you can relax, eat well, and maybe consider a nap afterward. I am not a fan of diners but after our tour at ISC, we had some time to spare before our next tour. I found this place and we were all pleasantly surprised. We were too full for pie, but did they look delicious!! We had a ribeye sandwich, chicken tenders, a cheeseburger and the roast beef. Yum yum yum. Food was hot and flavorful. We went to cedarwood restaurant *my hubbs took me today I ordered a taco salad I had been looking for the best one ever. IT was astronomical it blew my mind it was so good and there's a young man there by the name of Seeley and he was the one who made it for me and it was in the taco shells like the ones that they used to the be/ were like Taco Bell ones used to be.. but, it was filled and it was amazing. Ambiance: good old country mom & pop restaurant! Service: very friendly; mostly descendants of original mom & pop. Food: reasonably priced, quite tasty. Philly cheese steak was very good. I am not sure where the people ate that has given this place a good review but NO WAY. We walk in they tell us to sit wherever we would like. There was only one clean booth. We look over the menu first, bad idea, I should of paid more attention to my surroundings. We order then we start looking around there is 3 dead flies laying in the window sill. The salt and pepper shakers looked like they have never been wiped down. Here comes our food: My husband got a pork chop, pinto beans and mashed potatoes. The pork chop was clearly put in a deep fryer. Who does that? Especially in Ky come on guys your giving us a bad name. Pan fry that sucker. The pinto beans tasted sour I told my husband do not eat them. I got smother chicken, corn, and mashed potatoes. No mushrooms on the chicken like advertised the corn was like the pinto beans passed their prime. The mashed potatoes was off I think maybe too much butter but I was also concerned that it might be soured milk so I stopped eating those. It was a cheap meal I will give them the prices was great 30 dollars for the two of us. However they should raise their prices fix their booths with sticking out boards and ripped up upholstery. I have worked for decades in the restaurant business I truly believe this place is a step away from causing a food borne illness if it has not already happened by some miracle. I would eat a gas station hot dog before I would step into this restaurant this is not one of those mom and pop places that cares about their business. read more

Great country restaurant in Lebanon! If you're visiting or a local needing some good cooking, stop on by! I usually always order pancakes and bacon and it's great. After a day of bourbon distilleries around Frankfort and Lexington, we choose to stay in Lebanon KY so we could have a short drive to Maker's Mark for day 2 of the bourbon trail - and breakfast at Cedarwood was the perfect beginning to the day. The breakfast menu had all the standards - eggs, breakfast meats, pancakes and french toast, hash browns, toast, etc. Everything tasted amazing, and there was nothing but clean plates when we were done. Special shout out to the tenderloin with eggs breakfast I ate, as it was perfection. Maybe it was just the atmosphere, but I swear the eggs just tasted better here than at restaurants at home. The real gem to this place is the feel - from the small town charm of the building itself to the people working as well as at other tables. Everyone was so friendly that had we not had plans at bourbon distilleries, we may have just hung out and had lunch there as well. I've tried really hard to like this place. Over the years of trying this restaurant over and over, I have decided to stop going here. This place is disgusting, and I'm not just saying that because I was upset. I'm saying that due to the food in the booths seats, eggs in my coke, and food on my silverware. Typical little side of the road small town situation where everyone knows everyone and it feels like your sitting with friends. Pretty diverse menu so a little bit for everyone and you can't beat the prices. Only complaint is my steak was undercooked but I didn't notice until I got half way through so honest mistake. That's the only reason it's not 5 stars but I'd just ask for more done and it would be fine. Service was fantastic and it's a cute little place so you should stop in. I don't think it's been cleaned in years and the windows can barely be seen out of. So maybe for takeout would I recommend this place but definitely not for in person. Asked for burger to be cooked medium with no pickles. Burger was well-done and had pickles. Fried mushrooms and french fries were cooked in old dirty oil. They were overcooked and there were remnants of previously fried food in with the fries. Looked and tasted bad. I will not be eating here again, ever. read more

The charm from the front door- to the waitresses is unbridled! You'll feel like family or even better, a good friend, when you are welcomed and offered some deliciously fresh sweet tea. We had the special which was country fried chicken. I'm going to admit since it was fabulously breaded and fried to perfection, I will never fry in my kitchen again! We were too full to have a slice of pie, so we promised to be back just for pie and coffee. I remember eating here as a very young child when my parents would take us out to eat as a Friday night "treat". That was the 70's and they opened in the 50's. Any place with that longevity has to be good...and it was just as I remembered it when I stopped in with my Dad and son for lunch. The menu has great variety of diner style comfort food to choose from. My son and father enjoyed the roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy and I enjoyed an awesome cheeseburger that was much bigger than the bun. Comfort food at its finest! Wanted to go to Kentucky Cooperage to see how all those bourbon barrels are made but got there just a little too late! Partially my fault for getting a late start and partially the state of Kentucky for having enough money in their budget to repair their roads! Just a few delays along the way! We compensated ourselves by going to Cedarwood! I knew I wasn't in Connecticut as soon as I walked thru the front door! Cedarwood is in a county that allows smoking in restaurants! My brother in law who has been here before told me to just head to the right! We were quickly greeted by our friendly young waitress who gave us a few minutes to look over the menu and brought us our drinks! My brother in law ordered a Hot Brown(a Kentucky thing,just like Ale8 is! Google them!) and I had the Albert,a chicken breast,bacon,lettuce,cheese on grilled bread! It was very good but the star of the meal were the home made chips! Thick cut and slightly seasoned! What I didn't finish came home for an evening snack! So if you plan on going for a Cooperage tour(9:30 AM or 1:00 PM) give yourself enough time to stop in at Cedarwood! read more
