Never worked with a worse credit union before. Website is convoluted and janky (menus within menus), I don't receive important loan updates in a timely manner, and their customer service (both through the website and phone) is impressively lacking. Each time I have a question I spend minimum three hours trying to contact a representative, and even then they typically can't provide answers. Stay far away from this union. read more

After paying off my car loan, it took three months for CEFCU to get me my title. This was due mostly to their lack of knowledge and lack of follow through. Went in to open a secondary checking account in order to qualify for an auto loan. Amazing experience. Got the checking account set up, savings account and got the final help on my auto loan. Jasmine was great throughout the entire process, suggesting different options on the loan, moving the account opening along. Very impressive knowledge, client service and efficiency. I have been a San Jose resident all my life and have heard of and driven by CEFCU all my life but never thought to open an account. I'm glad I did. Wells Fargo is terrible and has been going downhill ever since the account opening scandal. Fees, customer service and flexibility all don't measure up to CEFCU. read more

Wouldn't give my back my debit card because I hadn't taken the checks out that I never had the chance to even put in. Went to the desk and the staff were unhelpful. Came back and the ATM was clear. They commandeered 2 prime parking spaces next to the Lucky Supermarket for use only by their ATM-using patrons. Made a deposit recently to this location and when my deposit was complete which was $350 the receipt came out as $250 they shorted me $100. I specifically ask the teller $350.00 is there correct before the deposit twice and she said yes! I left the bank not checking the receipt assuming it was correct. Got to my car and looked, and it said $250 was deposited. I immediately went back in showing the error and she then went to the manager whom then had to have the till emptied to see if it was an error. The manager then came back to me and said only 250.00 was deposited. I know for a FACT I deposited $350! I counted it three times before I deposited !!! I'm really upset with this branch and not sure what to do. I have some issues with this branch in the past and will probably move to another credit union! In the meantime I want my $100!!!! read more

I always have a great experience at this branch. The service members are all friendly and efficient. Last Friday I had a great experience with Jasmine Martinez. I had never applied for a loan before and I needed to request the paperwork to be transferred from another branch. Within 10 minutes of me requesting the docs transferred Jasmine was giving me a call to let me know she received them and what I needed to bring in. I went into the bank an hour later and she was ready when I arrived, there was an issue with the co-signer needing to give authorization and she was flexible in talking with her manager about making the verification on FaceTime due to the co-signer's illness. The whole process in working with her was friendly, professional, fast and easy. Would definitely recommend CEFCU and Jasmine to anyone securing a loan,. read more

To be fair, let's start off by giving you a 5 star for helping me get a loan to get my hot new 350z! (-1) but COME ON. my credit's too "new" so it's not great it's still good, so I wanted a cosigner just in case, added my father, his score is in the high 800's and they still couldnt give me anything less than 9.25% interest? that's bullsh-t. I should have done my research first,. yeah I was just excited for my car =/ but anyways Bank of America said they would give me a better refinancing but I dont want to go through all that. (-1) Next, I want to make online payments for my loan, but I can't unless I have thier bank card? WTF that's stupid. last time I checked you can pay off a loan/credit card from any account as long as you PAY IT. (-1) Not being able to waive the "over the phone charge". Whatever beezie, you can waive it if you want to, I always pay my bills over the phone and get the fee waived. Leaves you with 2 stars. I wish Valley Credit Union was still around! CEFCU's slogan is we are better then a bank! Yea I don't think so! I have two accounts one with CEFCU and one with Wells Fargo. One day I forgot to make a deposit to my CEFCU account and my gym membership was taken out and I got an overdraft fee. I called to see if I could get that waived and there response was no sorry we only remove one overdraft fee from your account per the lifetime of your account! Are you kidding me?! People make mistakes! If I were to call my secondary account Wells Fargo they would have either removed the fee or taken off 70% of the charge with no questions asked. So how is it that CEFCU is better then a bank?! WARNING!!! WARNING!!! They do not care about there customers! Just how much money they can make! read more

Just a quick little update. Everything has remained the same with this company and I have never had an issue. The DH had his card hacked twice (WTH) and both times CEFCU caught it and immediately shut the card off. There are still no hidden fees, still pleasant tellers and Customer Service reps, and is still the best place that I have worked with that has ever held my money. I have referred a few people here because of their unhappiness with big banks like Wells Fargo and Chase. To the reviewer who complained about fees - not sure what you're talking about except that it sounds like he's not a member. I have never been charged a fee for ANYTHING, especially for using the ATM. read more
