We found Stephanie through referrals from my wife's coworkers and she also was on the preferred vendor list for the Grand Gimeno. One of those coworkers said "I would get married again just to have Stephanie help me plan (and coordinate) my wedding." We were sold! We reached out about 9-10 months before our set wedding date and inquired about day-of-coordinator services. Stephanie was very personable from the start and organized, sending us a lot of the spreadsheets/worksheets after we signed the initial contract. Before the month-of prep meeting, we just sent her info of all of our vendors as we booked them and emailed back-and-forth. Once the month-of started, Stephanie started ramping up - she created our timeline and reached out to all of our vendors. She walked through exactly what we needed to do leading up to the big day and she was very communicative/available. She noticed a few sparse spots in the front of my updo and immediately checked if I wanted them filled in so my hair would look fuller. She and her team also helped touch up my makeup throughout the day. After all the crying, one of my lashes was barely hanging on, but they were prepared and made sure everything stayed in place. Our wedding happened to be during the World Cup, and since we're both Norwegian-Vietnamese, we wanted to make our grand entrance wearing our Norway jerseys. Ann fully embraced our vision and even brought small Norwegian flags and Norwegian flag garlands for our wedding party. It made for such an epic and memorable entrance, and we loved it! With our venues in mind (our local public park for the ceremony, a patio at our HOA's community center for the reception, and an after party at our home) and only 6 months until our selected wedding date, we went to Leilani Social to ask if they could help us make it happen. Kim was assigned as our coordinator, and took the challenge in stride. Another team member worked with us and Kim as a designer, and soon they helped us develop a cohesive vision and start thinking about the logistics, securing vendors, and making the many dozens of small but critical decisions to make our wedding day feel like us. Kim met with us many times leading up to the wedding date, coordinated all of the vendor communications by email, and always made time to address our questions and concerns--no detail was too small. She helped coach us through selecting rentals and the minute-by-minute plan for the day, and when we needed to pivot last minute to doing DIY flowers to save money, she supported us through that, too! This review would end up the length of a novel if I tried to cover everything, but just to give a couple examples: Kim helped us design custom drink menus for our reception, found alternatives for glassware and decor when we found out we couldn't have glass or open flame at our venue, and made sure we got a refund from our rental company for the few small items that were missing (which we of course, never even knew about because the Leilani Squad just handled it!). The day before the wedding, Kim met with us and our bridal party to run an efficient and helpful rehearsal, exuding competence and kindness while making sure everyone was ready for the next day. On the wedding day, four amazing Leilani Social team members were present to make it all happen. My day as bride started with a sound bath hosted by one of Leilani's wellness vendors (the wonderful Stephanie with Soul Sounds Alchemy) for myself and my bridesmaids. To be completely honest, I was a bit skeptical at first (especially since it meant we'd have to start our day earlier) but it ended up being so lovely and grounding (thank you, Danielle and Stephanie!). My "lady-in-waiting," Lulu, was amazing, and she spent the whole morning with us, keeping us on track time-wise and helping with all of the little things that came up, like steaming the skirt of my dress. Kim worked tirelessly to transform our blank canvas venues into the magical settings we had envisioned together for ceremony and reception. Arriving at the spaces and seeing our vision realized was an amazing experience. But as bride and groom, our hope was to truly be in the moment and enjoy the day, and Kim, Danielle, and the rest of the Leilani Squad made that possible. They took care of everything, arranging our many DIY elements, receiving each of our many vendors, making sure our guests got from one place to another, and responding to the inevitable hiccups so that the two of us could just enjoy each other, our guests, and our beautiful celebration. As a note, Kim was the last to leave the reception site hours after we did, making sure everything was in top shape and transporting extra drinks and supplies to our nearby home for the after party. We got married at Cravens Estate with 200 guests. Cravens is (or "was" since we were told ours would be the last wedding there; damn those snobby, rich, complaining neighbors!) a venue where you bring everything yourself -- food, booze, tables, chairs, musicians, servers, etc., so as you can imagine there is quite a bit of coordinating that had to be done. Liz's team met with us several times in the six months leading up to our wedding. We had some minor snafus nailing down meeting dates/times because they were coming from out east and we live close to Santa Monica, but we made it work. Our venue added restrictions seemingly every month thanks to those pesky neighbors, and Liz and Daniel were good about brainstorming workarounds with us. As for the big day, everything went great. They basically took care of everything that we were too busy to check on ourselves, and I'm sure they were running around monitoring details as my wife and I rested/socialized/ate/drank/took pictures. Funny story, we actually had forgotten our ceremony candles, and Daniel took off for the nearest mall about a half hour before our ceremony to get us something that would work and came back all out of breath just in time. The effort was much appreciated. They kept things moving and on schedule but also were able to give us an extra minute or two with a table here or there. I brought a few blank checks to the wedding and used one to extend Liz's team a couple more hours. All in all, I highly recommend their services! The peace of mind alone makes it worth hiring them.

I got married on 10/6/12 at the University of Michigan football stadium (aka the Big House)…read more I'm from california and I knew Liz and Dae Gun were good so I hired them to do my wedding in Michigan. They agreed even though they were unfamiliar with the Michigan territory and our venue. We had to also communicate through skype & google chat. Liz's assistants designed and printed our invitations and programs (a separate addition I paid for). I was very picky/specific with the way I wanted them --- football ticket style invitations and foam finger looking paper programs. Everything came out SOOOO perfectly. They did it in a manner so that it was still classy, feminine and cute yet sporty. They are so talented. People even asked if they could save the invitations and email us their rsvp instead of ripping the ticket stub. As for the wedding coordinating, Liz is very very meticulous. Even my venue and vendors were impressed and commented that they have never seen such an organized and detailed timeline. She wants your wedding to be as perfect as possible. We met via computer 3 times where we went over the timeline and other questions she had for us. She asked questions I would have NEVER thought of. She covers everything from the day before to the end of the night so that you come and leave with everything. I am very impressed with the organization of This Is The Day. The day of the wedding went so smoothly. I didn't know of any problems at all. My husband and I were so stress free. We just did everything they told us to do. Our MC had stage fright and ended up not making the flow as smooth, Dae Gun/Liz stepped up and guided him to make sure the flow of the reception went smoothly. Also, the day of, we found out we had to do the korean ceremony (pae bek). Liz and Dae Gun fit it into the schedule so smoothly. No one knew how to put on the head piece of the hanbok and the male hanbok, but Liz and Dae Gun did. They also guided us through the whole pae bek. They are amazing and obviously very experienced. The fact that they were in a different state didn't alter their skillsets at all! I don't know what I would have done without them. THANK YOU THIS IS THE DAY!

For me, I was willing to cut our budget elsewhere to afford a wedding planner because I don't enjoy planning parties and had no interest trying to DIY plan one of the most important events of my life. Looking back now, hiring Mele Amore was the best decision we made. I had a family emergency come up the week of my wedding - my dad was hospitalized days before the wedding and wasn't able to attend. It was a scary and stressful time and I hope no other bride ever has to experience anything like that, but it's in moments like these where having a professional planner proves to be invaluable. It was such a relief to know that Nicole had all the wedding details handled so I could just focus on my family situation and on mentally preparing myself for the wedding day despite the sadness I felt. Most of the "work" we had to do was make multiple-choice type decisions where she presented us with options (like: picking dj, food, flowers, decor, cake, etc). For fuzzier things like vows and ceremony script, she gave us lots of advice and guidance. Since we were remote, we could only afford a couple trips to arrange wedding details in person. Katherine greatly accommodated our special situation: for a couple weekend visits, she packed our schedule to be super productive and get most in-person things done at once. On the techie side, she is extremely organized with spreadsheets for timelines, guest management, budgets, etc. She was very responsive and focused in email threads. She also easily handled any task involving invites online, wedding websites, registry etc. As I work in the tech industry, I feel like Katherine is like the kind of product manager you dream of working with. On the personal side, Katherine is very low-key, never exerted her influence or opinion, and always had a cheerful attitude.
