This place has GREAT pizza! Our favorite pizza place is hands down Aurelio's, which is where the owners of this place came from. The sauce, cheese, and toppings were all VERY similar to Aurelio's. The crust was the only difference as it was crispier and thicker than Aurelio's. I still prefer Aurelio's overall! The food is great! I recommend the antipasta salad! All of their salad dressings are homemade and very good. I have a hard time choosing which one to have. Their service has always been superb! It is great for family gatherings and they provide private rooms to rent if you want to have a party. The prices are kind of high for that type of restaurant. I talked my family into coming here as we have carried out pizza and it is good. When we arrived We asked about the spicy pasta sauce they advertise on the web site the waitress told us they do not have a spicy sauce. Strike one- she then came back and said they DO have one. My cousin ordered the calamari- it was frozen went it came out- someone didn't notice it was frozen? strike two- both orders of BAKED pasta was cold with hot cheese???? Same cousin that got cold calamari decided in soup and salad and never got a soup. I was so embarrassed as I recommended this place so highly! I slipped out and spoke to a manager about the food and really all she said was "that is strange" I am baffled how this place is so highly recommended I will never go back. read more

I don't mess with Satan, and Satan is no where near Cemenos Pizza. I grew up on this pizza, and 30 years later it is still some of the best I've ever had. If you're EXTRA hungry, get their nachos. We waited almost an hour for them to call us back to tell us, " Sorry we do not deliver to your area." What????? Why did you take my order???? Why did you wait an hour to call us back to tell us that our pizza is done but we can't bring it to you?????? They really should have made the exception seeing it was there mistake! Love the atmosphere as well as the staff. It is a treat when we go to Joliet. My husband says they have the best Bloody Marys. We both love the food! I love the antipasto salad! First things first. 1) Health Issues, there have been a number of times Health inspectors HAD to come due to lack of cleanliness. 2) The quality of food or lack there of. There is absolutely nothing original about the menu. ALL the deep fried stuff is generic Grade C prepackaged frozen goods from the store. So if your wondering why your fries or mozzarella sticks taste bland and generic, thats because THEY ARE. The Pizza IS good when theres a reliable person making it. That is usually "Bob" the dude thats been there for 15 years and only works mornings on the weekdays. Every other time its unmotivated teenagers working for A-Hole managers that dont give raises. You know what that means right, oh yes. When you complain about your food and have it sent back; your pasta gets thrown in the microwave causing runny sauce that the cooks cleverly hide, pizza are made very fast and with carelessness causing runny sauce and overly greasy pizza's/ fries that are too cold gett RE-DIPPED into the deepfryer causing soggy way to greasy fries. I mean this is just a few things. However, I DID enjoy their food when it was made by me for me for free. read more

My family had come here to celebrate a birthday, and had brought a cake in for after pizza and dishes. A woman approached my mom and said "you cannot bring outside items into the restaurant. We have a baker for a reason, you can put the cake in the fridge here and we can hold it for you or put it in your car. We serve cake here". It seemed so rude and inappropriate, and to top that, the menu has cake on the back listed with blacked out prices. Family members had to literally put the cake back into the car. We came to celebrate a birthday with 7 people and couldn't sing around a cake to serve us all because it wasn't "from this restaurant." We didn't know the rule, first off, but secondly...how unfair is that?! There's many pizza places / restaurants that allow families to bring in cakes to celebrate events, from now on I will have to celebrate events elsewhere. read more

Service with Arrio was great. The food was also good (for what we could eat). We informed the server we were stepping out for a cigarette and when we came back, our food and beer was thrown away (we had over a half a pizza left). The server was very apologetic and offered to make a new pizza. Comes back saying "the manager said we could take $7 off"...really? Two beers was $10.50 and the pizza was $15. $25 of food/drinks thrown away and all you're doing is taking $7 off? After speaking to the manager long enough, he finally agreed to make a new pizza which is all we wanted. Miscommunication happens, but fix the problem. Don't point blame, and cheat us by throwing away food we paid for and only offering to return a very small portion of it. I doubt we'll be back. #AureliosWereComing read more

I've been going to Cemeno's for years. I've ate and drank there through the no Miller products years and the change of the pizza sauce recipe. Still love the pizza and have kept going back. After tonight's experience I'm not so sure I'll be going back. The Wednesday night before Thanksgiving is well documented as the biggest pizza night there is. We got there the parking lot was 3/4 of the way full but when we went in half the place was closed. No biggie we sit in the bar anyway. Well not tonight they put us in a booth in the indoor patio. Not happy but we've talked about the pizza all day so screaming kids here we come. The server arrived introduced herself and took our order. Couple of soft drinks a bottle of beer, zucchini sticks, and a Fiesta size pizza. 5 or 6 minutes the soft drinks come. Server says it will be a while for a beer the bar is too busy. It was a bottle of beer not a Guinness 20 minute pour or some exotic drink. It was a bottle of Miller Lite. 10 minutes goes by the beer finally comes. Shortly after that here comes the pizza. Never did get the appetizer. The person who brought the pizza said she'd check on it. I cancelled it, appetizers normally come before the meal. The server stops by to ask about the appetizer and assures us she'll take it off the bill. She ignores all of our empty drinks and goes away. 10 to 15 minutes pass the server stops by apologizes again about the appetizer and tries to get away again and ignore the drinks. I had to call her back and request drink refills. Finished eating, most of the time with another ignored empty beer bottle and waited for the check. At this point I just want out before I lose my temper. Took forever to get the check, took forever for her to come back and pick up the credit card. We have the bill and my card back left a decent tip considering but the server has now vanished. I'm not leaving my signed bill on the table. After 15 minutes we gave up I handed the bill and the pen to someone at the door and gave her our table number. I might give them another try but after this I don't know. Oh and I almost forgot. We're leaving and the pizza delivery truck comes flying around a row of cars cuts us off and then blasts through the parking lot doing a good 30 miles an hour. Maybe next year have enough staff on hand for the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. What an awful dinner experience and way to start the holiday weekend. read more

My husband and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Cemeno's. Food was great and staff was excellent!

We have even going here for great pizza & pasta for years. After last night, I'll be looking for a new favorite place. My Merlot was served in a white wine glass. The soup was so gross, grease on top of the 1/2 cup of the potato soup, chicken dumpling more like chicken dishwater. My antipasto salad was the ONLY decent thing we were served. I ordered a child portion of pasta w a piece of sausage. I was served an individual portion with what appeared to be 1/2 of a meatball. We always took leftovers home, not one person in our party of 4 wanted any of it. Not enough sauce on pasta, but the ravioli was swimming in sauce. Had to ask for: utensils, parm cheese, take the empty soup, salad dishes, no offer of refills on drinks. When we asked what the spicy sauce was, our server told us he had only worked there THREE weeks! He came back & says it was just marinara w/ jalapeño. I had to tell the server to not charge me for the sausage I didn't get. The ladies room was really dirty, paper everywhere on the floor along with ants. All in all the most disappointing dining experience I have had in a long time. What a shame since we frequently used to dine there. We will not be returning. read more

I was torn on how many stars to give this place. On one hand I love their pizzas, and on the other hand the last few times I was in there we did not get decent waitstaff. The last time my family and I were in there, the waitress did not hear our order right, and messed it up. When the wrong order came to the table, and we told her that's not exactly what we ordered, she became very snippy and started arguing with us. I'm sorry but as a waitress you fix the order, and you do not argue with the customer. We had six adults sitting at our table, and every single one of them heard the correct order, it was her they got it wrong. It's funny how no matter how good the food is at Cemenos, I find myself hardly ever going there after these last few incidents of bitchy waitresses. I also will add that Cemenos pizzas or more on the pricey side, if you want a better deal order off the Pizza Hut app, and go pick it up at the store, it's about 50% cheaper than Cemenos. read more

This is quite a large place and it was consistantly busy the whole time we were there. I had a small antipasto salad to start and it came out in a serving platter. Does that mean the large za is a 30"? The pie was very good for a thin crust. The chicken fingers were big enough for me. The fries were pretty good also. This place is very kid friendly. There is more than enough room for a kid to throw a tantrum and stay out of my way. We were in the game room for an hour after dinner. Joe's dugout is the bar on the opposite end of the restaurant that is named after the owner that just passed away last week. That is why all the servers are wearing t-shirts that say I know Joe. There is a big party room on the other side that holds about 100 people. If I am ever in the neighborhood I will make sure to stop by and try some of their drinks. Their rita's looked pretty good as well as the wicky wacky woo hoo? Fun place. read more

Had my daughters wedding shower here this month. Staff was excellent very helpful and food was excellent. I got many compliments from guests especially about the cake that was made by them.
