Our first visit. 100 miles RT from the East Bay…read more Definitely worth the drive. Celebrating a senior birthday. We arrived @ 5:00 in anticipation of a line as described on Yelp. No Line yet, but after we finished ordering, the line was out the door. For our group of 4 adults we ordered the rack of Beef Dino Ribs plus the large Family Pack (1lb of each meat) Brisket, Pork ribs, chicken. Plus smoked sausage. Sides: potato salad, mac&cheese, Brussel sprouts. Corn bread. Peach cobbler cheesecake, Banana Pudding. Wow !! A lot of food , i wanted enough to take home for Lunch the next day. We placed our order at the counter, then worked our way to the dining area. Food arrived at our table before i was done collecting the sauces, plates, napkins & silverware. Very fast - amazing as the dinning area was nearly full. The Dino bones ( 3 big ribs) was very impressive. Perfectly done. Definitely my favorite. Juices still dripping, very moist. Pork ribs were good. St. Louis cut, so they were a little on the drier side than babybacks. We asked for dark meat on the chicken but received two pieces of breast ( a bit on the dry side). Brisket was perfect, very moist and tender. Smoked sausage was a favorite especially with the Texas sauce. Sauces are the secret for good BBQ ,, as long as the meats are moist. We were with a Good group and out to celebrate a happy event. Everything was good. Desserts were packed to take home. Good service, even the cleanup staff were friendly. Atmosphere was typical w/ televisions entertainment. Noise level was decent to have table conversations. Cost: @ $60 per person Note: the Mini Family pack with the Dino rack would have been enough for our group. The restaurant was clean, trash bins emptied before they were in need. Bathroom was tidy. Yes, we hope to return. We do have good BBQ on the east bay. Our experience at Capelo's was very satisfying, service was great, my wife and our guests would definitely make the trip again for a nice outing.

The other 2 5* reviews saying this is great while mentioning Terry Blacks is inaccurate. Would not come back here for bbq. Meats were flavorless and not smoky at all. Not tender and not juicy either. Service was quick. Nice outdoor seating. Would've been a nice fun night out location with buddies if food was great.

My work bestie was on a mission to try Tacos Y Mariscos El Gordo! We have a tight lunch schedule,…read moreso we have to be able to drive there, eat, and clock back in within one hour. We thought the truck was by Target, but it is actually located in the Chevron gas station on El Camino, right before Woodside Ave. We ordered a shrimp taco, a fish taco and an aguachile verde to share. There were five of us altogether, so it took a bit of time for our food to be prepared. Unfortunately, there is no seating available. As soon as our order was ready, I started eating my fish taco and I was pretty impressed! The fish was nicely fried and they were very generous with the condiments, including cabbage, pico de gallo and a slice of fresh avocado. They even provided slices of radishes and cucumbers as well as limes. It reminded me of the tacos from La Cocina de la Abuela, a brick and mortar in downtown Redwood City that closed in 2021. They had the most amazing fried shrimp and fish tacos and these were just as good! The aguachile was also amazing! The shrimp were surprisingly large and served with avocado, tomatoes, cucumbers and thinly sliced red onions. It's perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice! I tried a shrimp from my friend, who ordered the camarones a la cucaracha. The shrimp are cooked in a garlicky, lime sauce and served over a bed of sliced cucumbers and onions to soak up all the tasty sauce. All the food we tried was delicious, and the portions are pretty generous. We discovered that you could call your order ahead, so we will do that the next time we go to save time. I can't wait to go back...there so many other dishes I wanna try!

Why 3 stars? Because I was just so sad about my flavorless chicken…read more --- --- --- I was staying at the Courtyard Marriott and was so excited to see a food truck with 4.8 stars less than a mile away. I had just flown in that day from Houston and I wanted dinner, but I was on central time and ready to go to bed early, so I didn't want to sit down in an actual restaurant. A food truck, not to mention a highly rated food truck was the perfect solution for what I needed. I couldn't resist the NYC Chicken Tikka Masala, because I enjoy all four words of that dish, so what could go wrong? The guy made it for me and handed me this thick boy to-go box, which I promptly walked to my rental car and opened up to see a 10/10 visually appealing heaping meal. And then I took a bite and.... where was the flavor? I took another bite. Same thing. And another. And another. Bland tikka masala?? How does this happen? After I had several bites, I came to the conclusion that it tasted like chicken dipped into water. There was literally no taste to the sauce. Was an ingredient forgotten? Did I come to close to closing time (30 minutes)? I really don't know. I enjoyed the pita bread and the salad concoction, but I will forever be bummed thinking about the alternative places I almost visited before choosing to grab dinner here.

The food was okay, nothing spectacular and I felt it to be a bit flavorless. I had originally stopped here 5+ years ago and had to try it again and we did and I felt the same way as I originally felt about their food. Their service was excellent and they were super friendly

The concept of having Korean food cooked in a robotic food truck is interesting to me. Since the food was catered, unfortunately I was unable to see the robots cooking in action, but fortunately was able to taste the final products. I was able to try the Wagyu galbi (short ribs), dak galbi (marinated chicken), Seoul food bowl (stir-fried pork belly and shrimp), and japchae, served with their corn salad, kimchi, and white rice. The Wagyu galbi was very flavorful with a good amount of vegetables; though I enjoyed the inclusion of lotus root, the veggies seemed like borderline filler to skimp out on meat. The dak galbi was also flavorful though spicy, and again the inclusion of rice cakes seemed like filler. The pork belly and shrimp were delicious, and I liked that the pieces of pork belly I had didn't have an overpowering amount of fat. The japchae was pretty standard and was nice to balance out the meat. I enjoyed the corn salad because it added a creamy component to my meal. The kimchi got lost in the mixture of food in my bowl and the rice was cooked perfectly by the robot. Overall, I enjoyed the food prepared by OLHSO Truck. Unfortunately, since the food was catered and already prepared when I arrived, I cannot comment on the service or wait times provided by the staff. I would consider ordering food from the truck if I am craving Korean fusion type of food and am too lazy to dine in at a local Korean restaurant. If the food from the truck is a good representation of the restaurant in downtown San Mateo, I am more inclined to try the restaurant for a nice sit down dining experience.
