I had some free time after a job interview to check out Trade in Irvine. Center Hub is the bar at Trade. It's an outdoor bar with patio. They have beer on tap, bottled beer, wine, and cocktails. I sat at the bar and ordered a coconut rye stout from Barley Forge before checking the cocktail menu. I would have ordered the Buzz since it's essentially a Gold Rush cocktail, my recent cocktail of choice. Happy Hour is 3 pm to 6 pm Monday - Friday and from open to 2 pm on weekends. I missed HH by 4 minutes. Oh snap. The bartender should have mentioned it to me but he didn't. Minus 1 star. Service was fine since I only ordered the one drink. The patio is a nice place to hang out with food from nearby and your drink of choice. I don't think you can take alcohol beyond the patio. I'd definitely stop by again if I'm in the area. read more

Pretty dope little bar located inside of a food court type spot. Came here for a drink while I was on the waitlist for the ramen spot a few businesses down. Drinks are decently priced, and they also have daily specials. Absolutely love this bar at TRADE! Drink menu is somewhat extensive but what I love most is that it is not overwhelming! Many bars tend to offer sooooo many varieties but Center Hub has a literal perfect menu of beers, wine, and cocktails. Spacious with seating at bar and nearby the bar but TRADE as a venue is outdoors seating all around so take your drink to a bigger table with friends if you want! ;) Employees were courteous, attentive, and overall great customer service. Happy hour is Monday-Friday, 3:00-6:00PM which makes me verrrry happy. I tried the blood orange seasonal special (delicious!) and endless summer (okay). Finally a new bar in Irvine. I have a feeling I'm going to be a regular here (does that make me sound like an alcoholic?) This place is located in the new foodie area. Small but spacious bar. Drinks are strong with a big punch and very delicious. Decor is rustic and cute. Hot Cheetos Bloody Mary: my 2 fav things put into one. Very strong but I would like it to be spicier. Came here maybe 30 mins before closing as we waited in line at the nearby HiroNori ramen, ordered maybe four drinks. Two birthday martinis, a fun rum drink with mint, and I got some kind of absinthe sour. None of our drinks were very good, the birthday martinis just being downright bad. At least my drink looked somewhat interesting, with a green fairy slapped on top of the ice cube. Looked kinda tacky as it wasn't quite layered on properly whatever it was. I had a feeling the bartender was fairly new. He was a nice guy but it seemed like he was looking up every recipe as he made it, trying to find the ingredients and what not. Hopefully it was mostly a fluke and perhaps the result of the early days for a new bartender, but this time fell flat. read more

Wow, so disappointing. The bartender was so rude it was unbelievable. Apparently we were encroaching on his lunch and he made it known. He had a buzzer from one of the other places at Trade and threw it down saying "I guess everyone knew I was about to get my food." Not sure if he is having a bad day but wow! We were trying to order a Bloody Mary and he was horrible. Told him to forget it and now he keeps looking over and staring at us. Ridiculous! Update: So looks like he realized how ridiculous he was acting and came over with a Bloody May on the house. Good recovery but could have been entirely avoidable. Update 2: The owner Jaime seems pretty amazing. His responsiveness and the further follow up from the bartender before we left were great! Went from 1 star, then 3, and now I've updated to 4. Super clean and new, bright and airy bar in Irvine by businesses and the airport. You can grab a drink and take it to the courtyard and then grab food from any of the food court options or just sit at the bar. The bar tender was super friendly and helpful and happy hour was decent. Will definitely be back again. read more

This is a nice casual setup in the Trade food hall. You can sit at the bar seats, one of the tables or order at the "take away" side and take your drink to one of the other tables in the hall. They have 10 taps with an interesting selection of craft beers. They also have a nice wine selection, specialty cocktails and you can always order your favorite straight or mixed drink. The severs are friendly and efficient. This place blends into the rest of the Trade nicely, making it one of the many excellent parts that makes Trade a go-to place for singles, couples, small groups, families as well as the weekday office crowd. read more

I tried the endless summer and the mule and both were sooo yummy and unique! They also serve a hot cheeto Bloody Mary which I'm for SURE trying next time I come! Reading all the other reviews, I can't help but wonder why they're being so generous with their ratings. The service here is TERRIBLE and the prices are OUTRAGEOUS. I came in on a weeknight. It wasn't that busy at all but it shouldn't matter because there's a frickin line. Like a Starbucks. (Is this a bar or what???). So we wait in the line (we're the only ones) and the guy sees us. I didn't get the guy's name but the one with the beard, blond combed-over hair straight up ignored us. No "hi sorry, I'll be with you in just a sec". This guy didn't say a thing. Just looked at us and went about doing whatever he was doing. Cool. So it gets worse. I wanted to order the $4 happy hour beer so I asked what the house drafts were. He respond and I indicated that I wanted the amber ale. Without asking what size I wanted, he poured me the larger beer and charged me the full price. When I asked about the deal he said "oh it's only if you get a 12 oz beer". The heck? Does it LOOK like I want a 22oz beer? Maybe you should have clarified what I wanted before you poured the damn thing. Nowhere does it describe what the $4 Thursday draft is. The "deal" is misleading and terribly planned out. Came here in the afternoon, a few Tuesdays back. The bar, and food hall itself, wasn't busy at all. The bar had a nice selection of beers and difference sizes if you're a commitment-phone like me and don't want to get stuck with a beer that's not too up my alley. The bartenders were nice for the most part and kept a very clean bar. My disappointment comes from the prices. Happy hour was fine, and still pretty overpriced, but after that, the drink prices are outrageous. Nonetheless, we kept drinking since we were participating in trivia night and suspect that since trivia night is free, they are trying to make more profit from the bar. However, I ended the night with a mojito with no rum (because 5 drinks in on a Tuesday just sounds like I have a problem). I was absolutely BAFFLED that they charged me the same price. The whole point of charging that much is because of the alcohol, right? Minus that, at least give me a good drink. I wouldn't order this even if it was $1, and I would rather have water. There was no flavor and it tasted like old mint with club soda. Ew. Unless you're going to trivia, this bar is not worth it. Save your money and get a good drink elsewhere. read more

I had dinner at Trade Food Hall twice during a recent short stay in Irvine. Each time, I washed down my food with beer from Center Hub. On my first visit to Center Hub, I ordered a random 21st Amendment IPA and ended up paying $12.85 for my pint, including the tip. Ouch: my beer cost a large fraction of my dinner at Portside Fish Company -- that struck me as a bit excessive. My initial impression of Center Hub was thus that it was overpriced. Two nights after my first visit, I was back at Trade Food Hall for dinner, this time at Two Birds. The Center Hub barman pointed out that there was a special in connection with some televised sporting event; smaller beers were on the order of $5. That price struck me as reasonable, and I went for the special (and came back for a refill). While I no longer felt that I was being gouged, I wondered about a payment system that forced some customers to subsidize others. More gripes: Center Hub closes at 9PM, which is definitely on the early side. Also, on my second visit, the barman made a big deal about keeping our tabs open until we left the Food Hall. The reason, according to him, was that he found it annoying to have to swipe the same credit card twice. Conclusion: while you need and want to patronize Center Hub when you come to Trade Food Hall, you sort of wish that Center Hub had some competition. PS: Their beer choices are quite good. read more

I'm lucky enough to work in the same center as TRADE, and I came here after work to try the hot cheeto Bloody Mary....because let's face it. Who doesn't love hot cheetos and who doesn't love bloody Mary's?! Anyways... The bartender isn't the friendliest, she seemed a bit down and out of it. She wasn't mean but wasn't hospitable either. That's fine I guess. The drink was.....disappointing! It came from a premade Bloody Mary mix and wasn't very good. I thought the hot cheeto flavor would be incorporated in the mix. All it is, is hot cheeto rim topped with 7 pieces of hot cheeto. For $9 I didn't think it was worth it. I'll update my review if I come back to try any other drinks. read more

I frequent Center Hub often not only due to the proximity to my office, but the friendly staff. Their beer selection is one of my favorites in comparison to other establishments in this area, and their cocktails are amazing. What really prompted me to write a review is one I saw left by a "Mike T." Not once have I seen a "premade cocktail" poured for a single patron in all my time coming here. As one who pays attention to how hard bartenders work to keep up with the flood of orders from demanding customers, as well as keeping the bar clean and presentable, frankly, I found the claim that the cocktails are "premade" to be offensive because it's an outright lie. I've often come In during lighter hours, only to see the head bartender or support staff with books open, studying about new cocktails, and trying to put their own spin on something to bring a new drink to the menu. I've also been witness to the head bartender denying a creation because it doesn't meet their high standards. Point being, with such a rigorous amount of scrutiny paid to the creation of every single drink on the menu, the possibility of allowing anything to be "premade" thereafter is absolutely ZERO. If there were a way to report Mike T's review also false, I would do so. read more

It's a great place to grab a drink, catch up with a friend, or people watch with the prime outdoor facing seats. The bartender was funny and nice to us, and was able to make our drinks quickly. My friends & I came by on a late Sunday afternoon. TRADE was mostly empty and there was only one other group at Center Hub, so our bartender was really (unfortunately) attentive. The drinks themselves were delicious, but the bartender on duty left a bad impression. As we were finishing up our first round of drinks, he came over and became really pushy about us ordering another round. One of the girls was about to leave so she said she was done, but the bartender was really insistent that she order something. My other friend & I reminded her she shouldn't since she was driving, which the bartender was in clear earshot of, but he still insisted that she order something, or that we all take shots. The rest of our group had already given him our orders, so I don't know why he was being so pushy with getting another order in, especially since he knew she would be driving in the next 5 mins. Slow day = milk the few customers there? Not an experience that will deter me from ever coming back, but definitely won't be going out of my way to come here in the future. read more

So I never TRADE as a place existed let alone Center Hub. I came in today with the idea of trying out the food spots, and then I see Center Hub... and I'm instantly sold on the place. I love a good drink! We sit down and Makayla and Samer greet us, asks for the first drink, and it's been a wonderful Saturday since. We get the endless summer and strawberry kiwi mojito. They were phenomenal. I like a place like this. The bartenders are constantly checking to see if everything is ok. Each drink they made for us was just amazing. Experience Roaming around irvine after a Sunday at the Huntington dog beach. This indoor/outdoor bar is tucked inside TRADE (think upscale food court). Came in with a few girlfriends and my boyfriend and we were surprised to see a bar. Both bartenders were accommodating and super sweet, looked like they knew what they were doing . My boyfriend got a beer. He sampled a couple but went with the space beer because it had the most alcohol (I always am a little weary with new bars because You just never know) DRINKS Stubborn mule 2: great, love a mule the comes in a metal tin. Not your typical Moscow mule. Tasted fresh. Forgot what was in it but it was purple and had a cucumber on top. Ginger snap: surprisingly different, didn't know what to expect but it was suggested. Had a little taste of my girlfriends, (she only let me have one sip since it was so good to her) Kiwi mojito: taste like it sounds, good. Always nice to know your bar is using actual fruit. This one does it right! Space dust beer: hard to mess up beer. It's beer. Mikayla poured the beer just fine. Menu had descriptions so you can see for yourself. OVERALL 5/5 stars, service was nice and drinks were satisfying. Only complaint is that it was so hot in the bar. We were told that fans were going to be put in so I'll be back. Found this place on yelp after searching for a good hamburger to eat at and stumbled across this little hidden gem. It happened to be St. Patty's day and they were having a little special with music, green beer, raffles and of course you can't go wrong with the surrounding food. We got several of the 32oz Heffenwizer beer which was dark green and delish especially on such a nice day like it was. The service was great and everyone there were very friendly. They had bean toss outside to play as well as beer pong. We ended up winning several times at the raffles that included a few cups and some gift cards to Dos Chinos and a gift card to Center Hub that we were not allowed to use on the same day and have to use it on our next visit which only makes us want to go back. There is a good size parking lot with plenty of parking and for a Sunday and for St. Patty's day, it wasn't crowded at all. I would definitely be coming back here every time I'm in Irvine. read more
