Frustrating and unfortunate experience. After waiting for 45 minutes for our two burgers, my wife asked the cashier what the hold up was. We were informed that the order never made it to the kitchen and that it would be started shortly. After a few more minutes of waiting and realizing we were coming up on an hour wasted, I returned to the counter and asked for a refund as we were short on time. The cashier granted the refund and offered a last second "sorry" as we walked out the door. I have never walked out of a restaurant, especially this hungry, upset, and frustrated. I say the experience is unfortunate because the overall ambiance of the restaurant is phenomenal and the food looked incredible, but I can't say I'll be back to enjoy it. If you're up to put some meat on your bones, you best come to Center Street and you best get a burger. I came for lunch with some of the homies, and it wasn't too busy--which made our food come out, speedy quick and really good. One homie got the Focaccia Turkey sandwich. It was stacked like this: Fancy bread, turkey, cheese, special sauce, veggies, and fancy bread. Another homie got the Center Street Burger. It was complete with fried onions and BBQ sauce. I ordered a Swiss Cheeseburger with bacon and avacado... No mustard, ketchup, or onions, with an extra pickle. Yes. I'm definitely that girl. BUT everything came out perfect! My only critique would have to be the fries. They were a little too oily, but all-in-all, a totally yummy meal. On a totally different note, this is the location of the Man v. Grill Challenge. It requires you to digest a 3.5 pound cheeseburger in 45 minutes. That's the epitome of "don't try this at home". I wouldn't be surprised if they require a EMT specifically trained in "meaty overload CPR" just standing by. The best part of this whole thing is that they have a "Wall of Shame" and a "Wall of Fame". The shame wall is packed with small 4x6 photos of poor people having a stare down with a full cow. The oh so coveted Wall of Fame is sparse with 8x12 framed photos of poor people suffering from a beefy hangover. TIPS & TRICKS: * There is a menu where you order, but if you want to know exactly what's on everything, look at the menu book located on the right hand side when you first walk in. * If you like sweet potato fries, switch them for regular fries. * CHECK IN on Yelp! Based on the other reviews, I really wanted this place to be good, but it's really not. I tried to give this place a fair shot, and went back multiple times hoping for a good experience, but never got one. 1. Every time the burger was bone-dry and the toppings were sparse 2. Good fries, but if you're gonna charge me that much, at least put a decent amount with the meal like Morty's does. 3. Never once got our order in under 10 minutes. The last time, the burger sat in the to-go box waiting to be handed out for almost the entire time we waited. This tells me that the food was not made to order (would explain why it was so overdone and dry) and that the place is chronically understaffed to maximize profits. 4. This one I really tried to look past since I really wanted to support this place as a local business. They promote a Keto diet as a weight-loss diet, all while disregarding healthy eating habits. Keto is NOT a weight loss diet. It's for treating things like epilepsy and insulin resistance. And I get it. They serve burgers and milkshakes. They're not in the health food market. So a few years ago I left a review after a few less than awesome experiences. I talked briefly to someone there who said they were a manager but not the owner and I apologized and promised to try eating there a couple more times and update. Then the pandemic hit and live has changed so much. Now my previously mentioned special needs child is in a wheelchair and besides just having autism he is very medically complex and immunocompromised so we haven't gone out to eat in literally years and it's just ton hard and not worth the risk for us. But what we have been is Door dashing the ever loving crap out of every restaurant in the valley. Delivery is hard there are a lot of places with great food here that can't seem to do delivery well. It may just be that their atmosphere is what cinches it lol but since we haven't been able to go in I've Door dashed this restaurant a few times and I have so many things to say. 1st, we've picked up a few times and the place has been so nicely kept and clean and I'm sure that any time things had been messy before had to be from busy rushes or staff shortages or something. 2. The emphasis on keto doesn't seem to be so crazy anymore. Back then it was like in your face keto is for everyone heyyyy try this buy this it'll fix all your problems type advertising. But now while there are options and it's clear you can buy the products there, it's clearer that there are still the good old favorite options and it's clear that you can substitute everything however you want it which is a big hit. You can order something non keto with substitutions and visa versa which is great! Lastly, the food has been off the chart every single time, even through delivery they don't even have control over. They have the best sides in town and often we'll just literally order like one of each side and just share the sides and it's the best, most filling, and most delicious takeout! They don't skimp on the fry sauce and other dips, everything is always cooked perfectly not burnt or over cooked, and those sweet potato fries and garlic parm sidewinders! And the shakes?!? Man. The. Shakes. Try the shakes. The burgers and sandwiches and such are great too but the sides and shakes are just to die for. Seriously, I can't speak to the eat in experience anymore, I know when it was just me and my partner we never had an issue but the times my special needs son was with us it was kinda of rough. I did want to come back and show gratitude to them for reaching out and update that their food has been amazing and we are very happy they are here, we def recommend getting delivery from them if you're considering it!!! Don't know how many times I drove by this place seeing how local places come and go (I've lived here for decades)... I gave it a year from its opening. Until one day I craved a deluxe tasty burger -think the Kahuna burger from Pulp Fiction. My previous local spot, La Beau's closed, and I wanted to try something new besides Beehive Grill or the new 5 Guys Burger (which I've had elsewhere). I pulled up Yelp which recommended Morty's on campus (good luck with parking) and this place. I was surprised to find the lot pretty full on a Tuesday evening. Hop in and the atmosphere/decor was bright burger diner style with more culture than Red Robins or In & Out burger. Snazzy ceiling, posters, Wall of Fame/Shame, cushy red & white booths, but what got me was this a "Final Four" chart (like basketball) by the Salt Lake Tribune in search of Utah's perfect burger. Center Street Grill was one of the final contenders (kudos). I had the Coronado burger with onion rings. Pretty good, patty was standard size, cooked well, decent flavor (better than fast food) but nothing to write home about. I liked the bread crust of the buns, which weren't hollowed out gourmet bread bowls but did the trick. The eggs, cheddar cheese, salsa, tomatoes and avocado reminded me of a huevos rancheros breakfast (cheap one, don't get excited). Onion rings were the highlight of the meal: light, crispy and not oily with pretty thick onion slices. I could see Coronado himself having one of these for breakfast after his expedition (or your next hangover). Parking & Location = 4/4 Service = 4/4 Atmosphere = 3/4 Food = 3/4 pretty good with variety of soups, salads, wraps, sandwiches, shakes, even espresso drinks.
