    Veal sandwich

We were looking for a quick bite in an unfamiliar area and ended up at Center Street Grille. From the outside it looked a bit sketchy, and we almost didn't go in. After seeing a few people head inside, we decided to give it a try--and found a hidden gem. The dining room had a lovely ambiance, and our waitstaff was friendly and efficient. The menu had so many tempting options that I asked our server for guidance. She recommended the veal, and it was excellent. I chose the pasta salad as my side, which was a great addition. Biggest takeaway - don't judge a book by its cover. I'd happily eat here again.

Such a large menu and the portions are incredibly large as well. We stopped by at noon with 7 people and they were able to seat us right away. The server seemed busy as he was rushing around. Our food came out nice and hot, everyone enjoyed their foods. I ordered the pierogies with poutine, it had lots of onions but I didn't notice any curds, which was a disappointment but still tasted good. The fish and chips were really fantastic and the fish and chips were really tasty and fresh.

Another yummy meal at Center Street Grille. I had the Cacio E Pepe Beef sandwich which was good. The roll was buttered and toasted on the grill and it had a lot of cheese sauce. Definitely would get again.

SERVICE AND AMBIENCE: Went into the restaurant with high expectations from the high rewards and trophies showcased around. I was approached from a laid back woman who provided my table. No conversation in between any service, all food was handed to me a little behind schedule as well. Still tipping 20$ because I understand service industry. FOOD: The starter calamari was about a 7/10. Could be crunchier, good amount of batter and sauce was delicious. The wings of golden mustard and medium, both award winning, I would say were very overrated from the trophies showcased. Really expected a lot more from the wings. Also got the Almond Crusted Cod. The cod itself was delicious, fully cooked and garnished well. The potato's it's served on were 3/10. The first bite you may be hit with flavor, but they begin to lose taste after a while. Not the best consistency either. COCKTAILS: Mango pure drink was very delicious. I've had better in comparison from other restaurants such as Pj Whelihans, but nonetheless got the job done. They also have a Salted Caramel White Russian that was pretty good as well. Gets the job done. If I had to rate this place, I'd say overrated.

Never a disappointing wing experience, today I ordered cool ranch and bang bang. Both flavors were delicious and wings cooked perfectly.

We had a fun meal here. We went at 5:30 pm and were lucky to get seated without a reservation. We sat in the bar area, which seems like the place to sit here. Brandon was our waiter and he did a great job as it was pretty busy. I had a christmassy cosmo, actually I had two of them, it was delicious. Dinner was quite good also. I had meatloaf and my husband had a salad with grilled chicken.

Ok. Update and game-changer. Ahem. First, we made reservations and sat down in their very chill dining room. It is a bar restaurant. But very welcoming. Not a dive. Wing Flights. Yes. There is a weekly set of new flavors that will give you 6 sauces with a flat and drumstick of each flavor. It will even be labeled per wing set. And not only is this fun and adventurous, the wings are delicious! Apparently around Halloween things can get a little Spicy ... This will make me a regular customer and often. I highly encourage you to go here on a Wednesday and order some tasty beers while you indulge. I rarely ever ever ever give a 5. And this 5 is only for their wings. The rest, I can't speak for. The fries are also good. But regardless. If you like wings... you're welcome. Do it! And fast! Oh, and the service! We had a male server with a cross earring. I forget his name. But he was awesome. Super attentive. 25% tip given.

The best Buffalo wings in Central Pennsylvania, hands down. The choices of sauce are amazing and the wings are always crisp and juicy. Love Center Street!

We ordered the oxtails and grits along with a pitcher of pineapple mimosas. The grits were honestly some of the creamiest I've ever had! The oxtails were tender, very meaty, seasoned perfectly, and came with a delicious gravy. Everything was flavorful without being overly seasoned. And yes -- the mimosas were STRONG! I also ordered the strawberry stuffed French toast and bacon to take home, and it did not disappoint. The French toast was really good and, thankfully, not overly sweet. The service was another highlight. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of without being overbearing. I also really appreciated the atmosphere. The music was playing, but at a comfortable volume where you could actually enjoy it and have a conversation -- not the "why did I come here?" level of loud that some brunch spots have. The location is also a plus. It's far enough away from the busiest part of 2nd Street that parking wasn't a hassle, and they have their own parking lot, which is a definite bonus in downtown/midtown Harrisburg. Overall, this was a really enjoyable brunch experience. **Good food, strong drinks, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere.** I'll definitely be back to try more from the new menu!

The Review: Men in the Kitchen…read more My reviews are different. I do not announce myself or tell anyone. I am here to do a review!! It was a rainy Sunday, and I was working up a hunger while driving Uber for content. I went to three different spots before I finally found the place I should've gone to first. The food and atmosphere at this restaurant are so good that I want to find another establishment just like it, but so far--at least on this day--nothing in the area can beat it. I don't know why I treat this restaurant like a good wife that a man might constantly cheat on but always returns to. I'm not saying that I actually cheat; I'm just using that for context! So, I found myself once again at Two Men in the Kitchen. Since it was Easter Sunday, they offered a buffet or a special limited menu. There was fish and chicken wings available, and I chose the wings. Since I don't eat meat often, I asked for their "House Sauce," and it is by far amazing. I paired the wings with the 3-cheese baked mac & cheese and sweet potatoes. I went for the sides first because I wanted to save the best for last--I already knew that house sauce was going to be incredible, especially on the chicken and greens eggrolls they have. The mac & cheese was great; it had a crunchy outside yet remained soft in the middle, and the cheese pull was amazing. The sweet potatoes were definitely homemade; I could tell because every slice was a different cut, which I appreciate because it proves they didn't come out of a can. Now for the best part: the chicken wings. They were cooked perfectly--neither overdone nor underdone, with no pink on the inside. Everything was pure. I did happen to taste a little bit of Old Bay on the wings, so I asked the chef if that was part of the secret seasoning. He said no, so maybe someone slipped some in by accident, but it didn't stop me from indulging. I also ordered one of their house special drinks--a Hennessy and rum cocktail. It was a very pretty drink, but unfortunately, I am not a fan of Hennessy. Personally, I think it tastes like house keys or licking a brass knob when you're a kid. On my scale, the drink was a 2 out of 5; I just don't think rum and cognac should mix, but that's just my opinion. The atmosphere was amazing and the bathrooms were clean. I will definitely visit this place again and again, although sometimes it is hard to tell if they are open because of the heavily tinted windows. For those who know the area, this is the old firehouse in Harrisburg. I was told that on the weekends, they clear some tables to create a dance floor, which is a nice touch. There is plenty of bar seating and booths, making it a kid-friendly environment. The only thing I don't like--which applies to every restaurant on 2nd Street--is that it's very hard to find parking. The Scale * Location & Parking: (3/5) * Staff & Engagement: (4/5) * Food Consistency: (4.7/5)

The ambience didn't seem much like a speakeasy. It was more like a regular bar/restaurant. For lunch, I requested fish tacos and sweet potato fries. My fish tacos each had a large piece of fish in them. The fish was seasoned and cooked perfectly, was flaky, and delicious. My sweet potato fries were a little overcooked, but still pretty good. Highly recommend that dish. My daughter's soup of the day (chicken & rice) missed the mark. But her club sandwich was the size of her head! If we're in Harrisburg, we'll visit again. Great meal!

They have this place running incredibly efficiently. We ordered the Staycation Flight and an Upside Down Latte, and every drink was fantastic. My favorite was the Sandy Cheeks a brown sugar and peach chai topped with homemade brown sugar whipped cream. It was absolutely delicious. The Upside Down Latte was surprisingly refreshing, and I loved that the coffee drinks actually tasted like coffee instead of just flavored milk. For breakfast, we had the Crab Hash & Eggs and The Bee Sting. The Crab Hash was amazing, especially if you love seafood for breakfast. But The Bee Sting completely stole the show. Applewood smoked bacon, cheddar, folded egg, chive cream cheese, and hot honey on an everything bagel... absolute perfection. It was messy in the best way, and I wanted another one even though I was completely stuffed. Our total, including tip, was just over $50, which felt very reasonable for the quality of the food and drinks. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere with people of all ages, and despite how busy it was, everything moved quickly. The only small downside is getting into the parking lot if you're coming from the opposite direction, but that's a minor inconvenience for food this good. We'll absolutely be back. Valley Bistro has earned a spot on our list of favorite breakfast spots.

I probably stop in about once a month, and every single time it hits. I can really only speak to the breakfast side of the menu because that's what I always get -- and more specifically, the Mexican breakfast options -- but wow. The breakfast quesadilla is incredible, and recently I started getting the breakfast burrito. Today I got the smothered breakfast burrito and it absolutely did not disappoint. Legitimately as good as any dedicated burrito spot I've been to as it should be given its a Mexican owned and ran establishment. What I love about this place is that it feels real. It's not trying to be trendy or overly polished like a First Watch or something. It has character. It feels warm, handcrafted, and genuinely cared for. The staff feels super tight-knit, and you can tell there's a lot of pride and love behind the place. I love seeing a Mexican-owned and operated diner doing their thing so well, especially one that feels this rooted in the community. They've also been refurbishing parts of the establishment over time, and it just adds to that feeling that people are actively investing themselves into this place.
