4.5 Years Later: The Return Center Street Grille, Enola, PA Last time, long ago on our last visit, it was negative across the board: attitude from the hostess, long waits to order and for the food to arrive, and the BIGGEST un-crispy wings ever! We felt unwelcome and didn't enjoy our meals that night. Ok, fine, there are plenty of other restaurants in the area, no need to return. However, I may have turned my back, but I did not forget you, CSG. I remembered the good times, the trophies, awards, and accolades for your delicious sauces, and the excellent reputation that you've had all of these years. It was finally time for "The Return." Last night, a completely enjoyable meal and great service at the bar. (The dining room was very busy, and there were several seats open at the bar). It was actually our first time sitting at the bar and I believe this will now be our regular spot to eat and drink here. Got 6 Hot and 6 Creamy Garlic Parm. These wings were the perfect size for me, a little on the small to medium side, and they were cooked well. Not perfectly crispy, but close enough, and the flavor of the wings themselves were tasting fresh and delicious. I always loved their traditional hot sauce and this was my first time trying the creamy garlic Parm. The creamy texture was a little too much for me, so probably just get the regular garlic Parm next time. No issues with flavor, just a little thick and messy. (Somehow, I got that sauce on my shirt and on the back of my neck.) The Blue cheese was a great dipper for the hot sauce but I should've ordered a large cup. I also got the Cacio E Pepe Beef sandwich with fries; it was huge and awesome! I think I would order that every time I go here in the future It was so good. We started with Southwestern Chicken Rolls that have a very delicious Horseradish Ranch dipping sauce. I ordered the Lemon Artichoke Chicken Sautéed sundried tomatoes and asparagus over sweet pea risotto. Topped with grilled chicken and lemon artichoke pesto. Served with a side of your choice. I had a side salad with Lite Italian dressing. The better half ordered the Center Street Meatloaf Homemade meatloaf served with loaded smashed potatoes, brussels sprouts with bacon, and finished with a Guinness gravy. Dinner came out hot and delicious. Shout out to Cynthia A our server for her over the top service and hospitality. We were looking for a quick bite in an unfamiliar area and ended up at Center Street Grille. From the outside it looked a bit sketchy, and we almost didn't go in. After seeing a few people head inside, we decided to give it a try--and found a hidden gem. The dining room had a lovely ambiance, and our waitstaff was friendly and efficient. The menu had so many tempting options that I asked our server for guidance. She recommended the veal, and it was excellent. I chose the pasta salad as my side, which was a great addition. Such a large menu and the portions are incredibly large as well. We stopped by at noon with 7 people and they were able to seat us right away. The server seemed busy as he was rushing around. Our food came out nice and hot, everyone enjoyed their foods. I ordered the pierogies with poutine, it had lots of onions but I didn't notice any curds, which was a disappointment but still tasted good. SERVICE AND AMBIENCE: Went into the restaurant with high expectations from the high rewards and trophies showcased around. I was approached from a laid back woman who provided my table. No conversation in between any service, all food was handed to me a little behind schedule as well. Still tipping 20$ because I understand service industry. FOOD: The starter calamari was about a 7/10. Could be crunchier, good amount of batter and sauce was delicious. The wings of golden mustard and medium, both award winning, I would say were very overrated from the trophies showcased. Really expected a lot more from the wings. Also got the Almond Crusted Cod. The cod itself was delicious, fully cooked and garnished well. The potato's it's served on were 3/10. The first bite you may be hit with flavor, but they begin to lose taste after a while. Not the best consistency either. COCKTAILS: Mango pure drink was very delicious. I've had better in comparison from other restaurants such as Pj Whelihans, but nonetheless got the job done. They also have a Salted Caramel White Russian that was pretty good as well. Gets the job done. If I had to rate this place, I'd say overrated. read more

It might not look like much but it's a classic "don't judge a book by its cover" restaurant--one of our favorites! And we're not alone--it's always packed, so make a reservation. Wings are fantastic but their menu is so unique -- we've enjoyed everything we've tried. I do miss the lobster lo mein, it was my go to until they took it off the menu, but go there with an open mind and try something new! read more

Crab dip was awesome and so were the wings. My server was great. This place was in a house and the atmosphere is very welcoming.

We had a fun meal here. We went at 5:30 pm and were lucky to get seated without a reservation. We sat in the bar area, which seems like the place to sit here. Brandon was our waiter and he did a great job as it was pretty busy. I had a christmassy cosmo, actually I had two of them, it was delicious. Dinner was quite good also. Ok. Update and game-changer. Ahem. First, we made reservations and sat down in their very chill dining room. It is a bar restaurant. But very welcoming. Not a dive. Wing Flights. Yes. There is a weekly set of new flavors that will give you 6 sauces with a flat and drumstick of each flavor. It will even be labeled per wing set. And not only is this fun and adventurous, the wings are delicious! Apparently around Halloween things can get a little Spicy ... This will make me a regular customer and often. I highly encourage you to go here on a Wednesday and order some tasty beers while you indulge. I rarely ever ever ever give a 5. And this 5 is only for their wings. The rest, I can't speak for. The fries are also good. But regardless. If you like wings... you're welcome. Do it! And fast! Oh, and the service! We had a male server with a cross earring. I forget his name. But he was awesome. I spent years looking for the best wing place in Harrisburg, and I have to say I think Center Street is it. We got a few dozen wings on a friend's recommendation a couple years ago, and it quickly became our go-to. They have a wide variety of sauces and rubs, and you can mix and match. They also have good blue cheese (which is important for my wing eating experience). We tend to get take out, but dining in is a nice experience as well. 10/10 would recommend Center Street Grille. read more

The walls are covered with well earned awards, Wednesday special allows for a flight of 6 flavors and 2 wings in each for tasting but even the standard flavors (menu and daily boards) are all worth a try. We had a reservation. It took 52 minutes to get the table ready and seat us. We had a drink at the bar. Bartender was awesome. Went downhill from there. Waited for food. And waited. People came in after us got served first.When the food came my dinner was horrible. No taste. Not even any salt. And it was stone cold. Waiter never spoke to me or would bring me a second drink.Not even a water refill. Really bad. I asked for some Tabasco or hotsauce. They charged me $1.25. Crazy. We were not even offered desert just given the check. He was focused on getting his dinner. Sad. I won't be back. Bad experience. Never even asked how our meal was. Bad service all the way around. I usually tip 25 to 30 percent but today only tipped 10. Horrible. read more

Wanted to try their wings after local endorsement From a Pennlive article. The appetizers were great - the steak fries with a philly cheesesteak topping over seasoned fries were delicious ! The pirri pirri shrimp served over a Mexican style corn salsa was not too spicy with 5 nicely sized grilled shrimp. The disappointment was the wings...sigh. Our table specifically asked for the wings to be prepared extra crispy . But most of our orders came out under cooked. The one tray of wings looked so sad, they were just crying to be thrown back in the fryer ! The long list of wing toppings and rubs was very intriguing, but if you cant get the basic cooking of the wings correct , the toppings cant save you :-( . The bbq rib rub topping was our favorite reminding us of a local favorite bbq potato chip. The service was wonderful ! The way-staff answered our numerous questions with patience and humor. Used dishes were removed to make room for our food and drinks were refilled on que. I wish I could give the staff FIVE stars! But the wings were a disappointment. read more

Refused our party drinks from the bar, she said it was her territory and wouldn't let anyone order even though we arrived early and were sitting at the bar. The atmosphere was cozy and very family oriented. We had a 20 minute wait, but it was well worth it. We sat at the bar and was served by Laura she was excellent. She explained the specials they have for wings on Wednesday. It's a sampler wing tray and you have a variety of six flavors,chosen by the chef. Each flavor that was served was phenomenal. Usually love everything we have ever had here. But Saturday night I ordered the Eggplant Caponata and it was a huge disappointment. The eggplant was sliced so thin that the breading was overwhelming it. Plus it was over fried and tasted like old oil. The pasta was a gelatinous mound that was all stuck together. There was hardly any evidence of the promised zucchini, yellow squash and peppers to be found. And when I picked out a slice, it was also impossibly thin, so it fell apart on my fork. They were surprised that I didn't like it saying, " everyone else loves this dish", but they did take it off the bill and offered to make me something else. I appreciated that but everyone else were almost done with their meals (and shared bites with me !) everyone else's meals were delicious. I will go back to my tried and true favorites. read more

Re visit to Center Street Grille. Parking is good. Menu is interesting. Seating could be a little more comfortable and restaurant could use a little more ambiance. Service was good. I had Romesco Pork Tenderloin $21 Paprika seasoned grilled pork loin sliced and served over sautéed Yukon potatoes with spinach and fresh garlic. Topped with a romesco sauce and a side of your choice. Parmesan Roasted Yukon Gold Potatoes The portion is a good size and value for money. The pork was cooked well. I think this dish would have been better if the pork was set on just a bed of spinach and the potatoes on the side. I think the potatoes were more roasted than sautéed. The romesco sauce bled on the potatoes and made them a little soggy. Would be better if potatoes had been par boiled then sautéed. Same with the roasted Yukon, par boiled and then roasted would have made then crispy. I had a long salted margarita that was under $7 was tasty and good value. Other than how the potatoes were prepared I would order this dish again. read more

This was our first time at the CSG in many years. Very much a different restaurant since the last time. Tonight, we went to an early dinner with friends. We had not made reservations, but they happily worked with us to get us in. We had a "time limit " on our table, but we never felt rushed. Our server, whom I believe may have also been the owner, was delightful. The decor is a bit drab, but that is totally made up for in many other ways. Most importantly, the food was amazingly delicious. I had the Mongolian Duck. It was superb. The bad part about it was that I ran out of it at some point. I wanted it to be bottomless. The others in my party had the Bistro Filet, the shrimp Alfredo, and some mild wings. Everybody was highly pleased with their meal. The prices were reasonable. We are looking forward to returning...and we will make sure to reserve a table the next time. Overall, it was a wonderful Edit: Returned with friends for a triple date night...very disappointing. They "ran out" of multiple menu items...something as simple as baked potatoes. No attempt to make amends for these problems.
