The wife and I had saved up for our first pool, we got a the pool installation with a built-in Spa Infinity Edge on both and use Pebble Tec for the bottoms. The decision to redo our pool was not an easy one. There were many options to consider, the biggest of which was who to use. We had multiple companies come to give us estimates, and all had good Yelp reviews. Ultimately, we decided on Central OC Pools for a few reasons. First, Michael was very responsive to all of our questions. He was patient and never seemed bothered. He took the time to really help us understand our options. Second, Michael never tried to upsell us. While he explained various things that could be included in the project, he helped us prioritize and never pushed us to go outside of our budget. We set a start day for the project, and guess what...they showed up! In fact, they showed up every day they said they would. There was never a time where we had to wonder where our pool contractor was. Central OC's team is awesome. They performed high quality work. Before moving on to a new major step, they checked-in with us to verify they were doing exactly what we wanted. The job was completed ahead of schedule. When does that ever happen? When the job was complete, Michael came to do the start up procedures. We noticed a small spot on the resurfacing that didn't seem right. Michael's response, "I noticed that too and have the team coming out to take care of it." Next day, small spot gone. Our pool looks so much better than we imagined. Update: I got a call back from a lady named Gina shortly after writing the prior review. She was quite apologetic for my initial calls falling in the cracks; apology accepted - I understand sometimes things just happen. It sounded truly unintentional. Then I got a call from Michael, the owner, who immediately sent technician Brian to address my pool problems. Michael gave me an overview of what the job might entail - from simple and less costly solutions, to more complicated, expensive ones - should the situation warrant once my equipment is looked at. No pressure or push towards more costly ones - just laid out what I could expect. Brian was very nice, gave great explanations on what he was doing and what went wrong. He will be back tomorrow to complete the work (he had to get some parts needed to finish the job). I'm quite impressed with their responsiveness, and assuming tomorrow goes as well as today, I would recommend them. Prior review: Two stars, was going to give one star but decided to give them benefit of doubt. I called to get a quote. Either the call got dropped or lady who answered cut the call and hung up on me. I called again, assuming the call got dropped accidentally. Got voicemail. Never got a call back. What won them the bid from us was honesty. Michael was very honest about what did and did not need to be done and he was eager to earn our business. The Yelp review rating accompanied with his honesty made us feel very comfortable with hiring them. The remodel process itself went almost exactly as explained with a few minor delays. The delays however were because the team doing the work wanted things to be as perfect as possible and we could not be happier with the results. My 30 year old pool was in need of a complete remodel so I contacted several companies for bids and selected Central OC Pools to make my project happen. The pool is 25,000 gallons with a spa and Michael and team worked tirelessly to convert it from old worn out plaster and brick with very pool water circulation to a NEW pebble tec type finish, concrete coping, amazing blue tiles, ALL NEW 2 inch plumbing for every pipe, outlet, and spa pipe. The old single drain pipe was replaced with a new dual drain system, automatic water filler, new dedicated vacuum line, new skimmer and suction lines. While I may not have needed all of this right now, I asked for it as the old pool was difficult to clean, had terrible circulation of water, and used more chemicals than needed. Michael and team showed up when they said they would, did what I asked for and more, and always with a smile. Just a great experience and I'm confident my pool will not need to be touched again for many years. After hiring the most expensive full service pool company I could find in my neighborhood ( tustin) we quickly switched over to mikes company. The reasons 1. We were told we had an all inclusive package at $200 / month, but were billed anywhere from $25-89 extra EVERY single month. Michael has now been servicing our pool for 6 months and the only chanve in our bill was for a filter clean, which we needed, and was well documented by his staff. 2. We had service provided on average 3/4 weeks a month. We would call and nothing would be done. C.oC. pools had one guy come and just pour the chemicals in and leave without cleaning the pool. We called Mike and he came out himself with iur pool cleaner and retrained him on propper maintenance. We dont expect our pool service to be perfect, but we do expect them to be responsible when things arent correct. Mike didnt complain or make excuses. Our pool pump stopped working completely. I called Central OC Pools, and I was surprised that Michael answered the phone himself. He recognized that my pool pump not functioning was a great risk to the health of my pool water and made the time to schedule to come out quickly even though it was during Labor Day weekend, and I wasn't a previous customer. Over the phone, he recommended the regular main panel circuit breaker toggling to make sure it wasn't a simple fix that could be done without a delay. I tried to follow along, but it turns out I didn't understand one of the breakers. Once he was on-site, he immediately familiarized himself with the pool. My pool needed a drain and I decided to go with an acid wash as well. I had a lot of staining on my plaster. I called Michael and he was very helpful over the phone and we scheduled a cleaning. It was done in half a day and they cleaned up the surface really well. I think my plaster is on the older side and so it still has some issues, but the before and after was incredible. After writing my previous post, Michael contacted me immediately. He was very eager to do whatever he could to make us happy. He offered to demo and re-pour the one side of the deck as one pour so it would look better including the area where the new plumbing went under the patio and under the pool equipment at no charge. He also offered to reimburse us if we preferred to use another contractor. In the end we decided to go with another contractor and redo the entire deck all the way around including the entire patio, under the pool equipment, and to add drainage. Michael worked with us and the other contractor on very short notice and the job went very smoothly. After the concrete was demo'd we found some pipes that had not been glued together, only primered, and the skimmer was leaking. Michael sent out one of his best plumbers, Morel, and he showed up on time and replaced ALL the plumbing and skimmer in one day at no charge. I was worried about the coordination of the plumbing with the landscape crew, but there was no delay to the job whatsoever. After the concrete cured he sent out Brian who did an excellent, clean installation of the pump and filter. Michael showed up the next day with check in hand. He went to great lengths to make sure we were happy with the final product and I could tell he felt really bad about how the job went the first time. If this is the Central OC Pools that had shown up originally, I'm sure my first review would have been MUCH different. read more

Michael gave a quote and was super responsive, unlike the other companies that i reached out too. and gave me options for the mini pebble plaster, tile, and coping. They also put in new pavers around the pool. We were debating going with concrete but decided to go with pavers. They were very upfront about pricing and after my neighbor had a horror story with another contractor who ripped them off, I'm so happy I picked a reputable company that was fully licensed and insured. As I am writing this review, Central OC Pools has 102 reviews, 101 five star and 1 three star and that one was based on advise received, but no work was done. With my review, they will have 102 5 star reviews, and they absolutely deserve it. I did a lot of research before selecting a company to redo our pool. We hired OC Pools for a number of reasons. When I found them, they had 91 five star reviews and no real complaints to speak of, which is not what I found for other companies. After spending some time talking to Michael, the owner, we definitely felt that client satisfaction was really important to him and communication was key. Michael pointed out that we really should have a GFCI switch at the pool light for safety. He was correct and none of the other companies pointed that out to us. I wanted to add a step into the spa and he let me design it and his crew chief Bob did an excellent job building it. The communication was probably the best I have ever experienced with a company. We had lots of questions along the way and Gina in the office made sure they all got answered and would check back with us with each step to make sure we were happy. When we needed to speak with Michael, she made it happen. Gina would also check in to see if we were enjoying the new pool and the spa. They really want to be sure you are happy. And we are. When I tell you that there is no other pool company to look for, trust me, this is the ONE you want. I believe we have been serviced by Central OC pool now for over 5 years. Michael has NEVER once not attended whatever issue we had. Sometimes we have issues with the pump and or other mechanical issue and even on OFF hours, Michael the owner has taken our call. Not only taken our call but taken time out of his Sunday to make sure we were taken care of. He has every right to NOT answer the phone when it's a Sunday but he has made sure, time and time again, that his customer was taken care of.
