I spent a lot of time trying to find someone to re-pebbletech my pool. After reading the Yelp reviews we called Central OC Pools. Mike came out and we liked him immediately. He walked us through our options and gave us an estimate. We felt good with the price, and hired them a few days later. The scheduling and communication with Laura in the office was great. She always responded quickly and kept us informed which really kept the job going smoothly. The workers showed up on time and demoed the old pebble tech. The next day the plaster guys showed up (on time) and did a great job. They cleaned up their mess and left. The following day they acid washed the pebble, and the pool looked amazing. Again, on time & cleaned up. It took two days to fill back up with water. We hired them to do the start-up on the pool too, and I'm glad we did. Chris came out and explained to me all of the water chemistry, and how to get the most out of the pool equipment. He was out every day and really did an amazing job. He brushed the plaster and cleaned the filter. At the end he added a clarifier that made the pool sparkle. This company does a great job start to finish. Let me begin by saying that Central OC Pools is a good business and this review contains honest statements and both pros and cons about Central OC Pools. The Pros are to help someone decide if they want to use them, and the cons are to help them become an even better company. Before you read the rest, please know that I would definitely recommend this business. I chose Central OC Pools based on all of the positive reviews I read here on Yelp. After dealing with pump issues for over a year, I needed to replace my Pentaire pool pump, which had finally given up after about 18 years. I knew it wasn't going to be cheap to replace so I was very careful on choosing a company to do the work. I was going to just do myself because I'm handy enough to do the work, and replace with the same model I already had, but after I called and spoke to Michael the owner, he recommended that I go with a upgraded model because over time, it would actually pay for itself due to the energy efficiency in the new pumps available. After getting over the "sticker shock" of what it would cost, I realized that my pool is a big investment and spending the money on this, and having a professional install it, was the way to go and agreed to hire them to do the job. Let me give you the pros and cons of Central OC Pools: PROS * Excellent workmanship * Knowledgeable * Quality materials used for installation; i.e. PVC, glue, fittings, O-rings etc. * Experienced technician * Reasonably priced * Good follow up on work * Quick scheduling of work CONS * Poor communication prior to work done * Mismanagement of equipment delivery I only have a small issue with this company. A minor issues, but at the time, a big enough concern that made me wonder if I had chosen the right company for the job. My only issue is the communication. I wish that communication from the office would be done by phone calls and not by emails. I don't use my phone for emails, and I'm not always in front of my computer, so for this type of communication, phone calls are mandatory in my opinion. I also wish that certain things would be clarified more clearly so the customer understands how certain aspects of the work will be handled. When someone hires a professional to do a job, it's because it's something they cannot, or choose not to do themselves. So, it's important that the professional, and its' staff, be very clear on everything so that there is no confusion. When customers are spending a lot of money, it's important that they have clear, concise information to reassure that everything will be handled perfectly, which is the only area I can see where this business has some room for improvement. Now that the work is complete, overall, I would definitely recommend Central OC Pools to other people looking for a company to work on their pool. The technician, Kelly, who installed the pump, was knowledgeable, accurate, informative, and experienced. He had my brand new Pentaire Superflo pump installed, and up and running in about an hour and a half. He even gave me his personal phone number to contact him if I had any questions or issues, which I did a few days later. Hands down, my experience with Central OC Pools is the best customer service experience I have ever had! I called because of the high reviews on Yelp (thanks again to Yelpers). Michael answered right away. I told him about my older than dirt pool pump, he asked me to take pictures of it and send it to him. He explained that my pool pump was very old and maybe even leaking, he recommended an energy efficient one that would work well with my pool. Within hours, he sent me an estimate of how much it would cost and also that he could have it installed for me the next day. NEXT DAY?! 4th of July weekend as well coming up, it was amazing that he saved the day! He was upfront about everything, what to expect, and installation and all. Michael was even nice enough to talk to my insurance company about the issues I was having with my pool pump, which I called as an insurance claim. Kelly was the actual person who came the next day to install the pool pump. He was so nice! He called first to say he was on his way, he was stuck in some heavy traffic but finally made it and had the pump installed for us with no issues. Because this was an insurance claim, I asked Kelly to leave the old pool pump (insurance wanted it for some reason), and he did what we asked and put it aside. He walked us through all the new features and buttons. The next day, my husband had some questions about the pump and we called Michael again. He answered right away and answered all the questions.
