Live music - jazz jam on a Tuesday
    Eileen H.

Stopped in for live jazz jam music on a Tuesday evening in December. $5 cover. Food service to table but you have to go to the bar for drinks. We only had drinks. The musical group was really jamming and the crowd loved it. Come try it sometime.

Chicken finger me that includes fries, celery, and blue cheese (or ranch). I got flavors garlic Parmesan/lemon pepper.

This is my go to lunch spot with co-workers. I usually get wings but I love my chicken finger selection I do. Service is always good and I love the atmosphere.

It's like the T.V how "Cheers," except nobody knew my name when I walked through the door..ANYWAY, I felt so welcomed by the bar tenders and the crowd alike because everyone had smiles on their faces. Everyone just looked happy to be here, seriously, this place is a "mood." "CPG" is the quintessential neighborhood bar that seems like it has its steady stream of regulars as I noticed many people greet each other as more and more people entered the bar. Toward the back of the place there is a cozy stage area where a live band was playing with ample seating...there was also seating near the front of the bar if you cared not to be so up close to the band. Food? I had a combo of bbq and medium wings (both charred on the grill for 1.00 more) and yes it was worth it. The wings were cooked to perfection and lightly saused...they had other typical bar food like burgers, fish fry and fried ravioli..all looked good! Good beer selection too! This was my first time here and it wont be my last..

Cajun on right, gold BBQ on left (with a little hot mixed in for a bite). Great wings in hidden bar food gem.

CPG, as it's known by locals, has some of the best bar food around. The chicken wings are in my top 5 in WNY (with the likes of Bar Bill, Gabriel's Gate, etc). They cook then perfect and have some good sauce selections. I love the cajun and the golden BBQ. Tip: ask if they can mix some hot with the gold BBQ and thank me later.

I ordered wings which were ok but next time I'd probably go somewhere else for food. I liked the bar atmosphere.

I know the restaurant needs to charge for things because the wings are so reasonable and delicious, but the server should mention the upcharge when offering these items... We ate the wings before photos could be taken... they were very good!! The medium wings were not very saucy, the garlic parmesan sauce is creamy and cheesy... delicious, the honey mustard wings were very saucy, the wings that came with sauces that were hot, weren't that spicy. They had a little kick and were tasty though Oh, and one more thing to be aware of, they will not give take home boxes for the wings, which is not mentioned or displayed anywhere... the wings do come in a basket that has foil on it and there is a bone discard basket that can be turned into your own take home box.

It was a bit busy (30-40 min wait for dining area), but there were a few tables off to the right of the bar where you could seat yourself. Luckily, one opened up right as we walked in. When seated at these tables, you have to order at the bar. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the nuggiez -- the sauce cooled the boneless bites down a little, but the flavor was still great. I loved all the sauces we tried (saucy hot cajun, medium, and garlic parm). The wings were perfectly crisp, and the steak pizza had a ton of flavor. Definitely a heavier meal, but if you're bringing someone from out of town who wants great wings, this is a spot worth taking them to.

We asked the server for their recommendations and ordered based on her suggestion. The drinks arrived quickly and were PERFECT! Definitely recommend Mes Que if you are looking for a good cocktail. For food we decided to split a cheese and charcutier tray and the Spanish tomato bread. The tray came out first and was a great size for the cost! The tray came with 4 different cheeses and 4 meats along with a variety of toppings, oil/vinegar for dipping and bread. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The bread came out shortly after and it was HUGE! The bread was soft with a great crust and a nice level of toppings. It was a great addition to the tray. Overall, we had a great meal, tasty drinks, and prompt service. I highly recommend Mes Que if you are looking for a nice, well priced meal while out on Hertel.

Here, people could converse naturally, and time seemed to slow down. The food was exceptionally well-cooked. Classic Spanish dishes were prepared to perfection, with fresh ingredients, distinct layers of flavor, and rich complexity. Paired with a glass of red wine, it felt less like a dinner and more like a savorable experience. The service was warm and attentive, yet perfectly balanced, without making me feel intrusive, which I always appreciate. If I had to nitpick, a few dishes didn't quite impress me, but overall, the restaurant's atmosphere and the experience made up for it. I'll definitely bring my friends here next time! LOL

It was my first time here. Sportsman's Tavern bought the venue three or four years ago. It isn't a dive bar like Sportsman's Tavern though. It's much more intimate. It's classier too. I liked the way they had the tables set up. I loved the stage area too. There is a small bar area where you can order drinks.
