I know there're a lot of suburbanites who will find the food just fine here, but if you want actual Mexican flavors, try Oasis in Collingswood or, even better, San Lucas on Federal Street in Camden. read more

The place looks cool... but that's about it. The food is not flavorful. We had a variety of burritos at our party of 5. The "wet" burritos is in a puddle of water, not cheese or sauce. The most bizarre part of the meal is that the genius in the kitchen serves the food over top of two beverage napkins, so you either eat a side of a wet napkin or you somehow figure out how to surgically remove the wet napkins from underneath your food. My husband and I came here for lunch and let me tell you, what a great experience! We sat on the back balcony which felt secluded and nice (under the shade too). The food was good (we got tacos) the margaritas were excellent but the service stole the show! Rachel was our server and she was so sweet. So our server Deanna was cool. The food was good. I thought it was nice how they sell each taco individually so you can mix and match your favorites. I did not like was that the drinks came out late. We ordered margaritas (which were excellent) but we got through our app, and 3 tacos before we got our drinks. Deanna was really sweet and she explained that the bar was busy. She got us soft drinks and refilled our water bottle before we got our drinks. If I ever went back it would be just for drinks at the bar. I wouldn't expect to get drinks any other way being that it takes sooo long because they're "hand crafted" .... The actual place was really cute though. The music was cool. I'm a huge lover of Mexican food in all forms so I was really excited to try this place. I can't speak for the inside, but the outside is super cute with rows of picnic tables and a very casual vibe. Our service was also outstanding. But that's where the positives end. We shared the guacamole, which was tasty albeit small, but the tortilla chips were not appealing AT ALL. Not seasoned enough and kind of hard (not in a good way). My crispy fish tacos were super small too and incredibly spicy. I did not ask for spicy but am wondering if I had specifically said mild if it would have been better. The fish itself was not great either. Another yelper said it seemed frozen and I have to agree that it did not seem fresh. My husband got the beef fajitas and it was so spicy that you could see the pepper seeds all over it. Again, he did not order it that way. My brother-in-law is vegan and his burrito was chock full of white rice and about 7 beans in it!! It was crazy! We were in a hurry so did not want to send back but it deserved it. I think this place might be good for happy hour and margaritas but definitely not for the food! Huge disappointment. read more

Being from Texas and having had the real street corn, this didn't measure up to it. Finally! A good Mexican place in the Haddonwoods! Yes, it's Americanized and hipster, but that's okay as long as the concept is done well, and it is here. The Mexican Street corn (off the cob and in a bowl - get over it) is HUHMAZING. I had the spicy crispy chicken and veggie tacos and both were solid. Good chips and guacamole. Good margaritas (many with interesting and fresh twists). Big high ceilings, nice bar area, good natural lighting, reclaimed wood everywhere, and a nice covered back patio where you can see the trees in bloom and watch the Patco speed by. I ordered the same kind of tacos when I first visited, and this most recent visit was far superior compared to their opening. During these pandemic times - me and a group of friends decided to get take our from here. First off, on the phone they asked for the model of our car so we assumed that it would be like a curb side pick up situation. So we arrived and parked in front of the restaurant and maybe 20 min went by and no one had come to our car with our order. So we called them and they said they would come out. A guy came to the front of the parking lot, looked confused, then went back inside. It happened too fast that we couldn't flag him down. So we waited a bit longer then decided to just walk up there. We ordered the carnitas and al pastor tacos. Sad to say I was disappointed with the food as well. For the price of the tacos, there was very little meat in them and it seemed lacking in flavor. We came to this place through the recommendations of SJ Magazine for the Best Elote. While it was really good (despite being served in a bowl instead of on the cob), I hope one day to find somewhere that does it better. The tacos here were crazy good though, I had a chorizo/shrimp taco and a Korean bbq taco. I think they were very good and will certainly be back to try some of the other options.
