After 13 years of ownership of my beloved 2007 Toyota FJ, like an almost human being she is (at least to me), the paint was faded due to the daily fight with the elements and acid rain, those were 13 years of fighting the elements like a homeless soul without a roof. The love for that vehicle and since I was not in danger of buying a new car anytime soon, due to a pandemic an uncertainty of the times added to the fact that mechanical speaking the car is in great shape because I took care of her inners, I decided to pull the trigger on a total paint job. A good friend of mine recommended Central Valley Body Shop and I am glad he did, the job was done to a full satisfaction to me, it took a month and a half at the shop, something understandable due to the pandemic, and something I did not object due to the circumstances. Now the staff: Mike Colatto the owner, he understood my needs and delegated to Mr Juan Muñoz who is the one who kept me well informed of the process, a process that they were kind enough to allow me to supervise on an almost daily base to check on it. Usually I consult yelp for pretty much any business I am about to sink my money into, especially for something as costly fixing up a car, but this time I felt it better for me to ask my friends and classmates instead. Now when I couldn't find a review for this place that a classmate suggested I grew a little suspicious at first... Thankfully I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. I was looking for a body shop because a piece literally fell off my car when I didn't notice and I HAD to get it fixed up ASAP. How could I possibly drive my ride around with a chunk missing from the side of my door?! Well I admit I am pretty much a complete novice when it comes to auto shops but when he said that he would order the part the next business day (I went in for a consultation near closing hours) and that the part would come in the day after that I was relieved. I would only have to go a couple days without driving anyone around. I originally wanted to find a slightly faded piece to match my older (2002 black) car but the owner, Mike, explained that I would be better off ordering a new part as opposed to trying to find a scrapped piece because junkyards like selling doors in whole pieces..not chopped up for parts. Aaanyways I appreciated that he went into detail on the matter. Now when it came to the total I was happy to hear that I would get a CSUN student discount on top of the quick service. My wife's Lexus CT200h paint started to suffered from the dreaded paint rash and started to peel. This has been a persistent problem which earlier Lexus took care of under warranty. Since her car is 6 years old Lexus would not repaint panels again. I have use Central Valley Auto Body previously and found them to do excellent work. I found Mike to be very honest and very concerned with the quality of their work. After this experience I used them again for this paint work because I felt the work would be done well. Took my 2015 Silverado here, it had a huge dent in the rear passenger bed panel, everywhere I took it they wanted to replace the panel and would cost upwards of 3000, than my brother in-law recommend Central Valley and Mike didn't think it was necessary to replace the panel and he could save me money, and 7 days later my truck looked brand new again, ever curve and the paint matched, no blur in the paint it looked like new, customer service was great, Natalie was super helpful and friendly, would definitely recommend this place and return myself if ever need. read more

I got my (Lexus) car repainted due to some scratches/being keyed. The job was done over a year ago and I have no problems at all. The only complaint I would have is that my coins seemed to have disappeared. But that was my fault. Nobody should leave any valuables in their car when going to any body shop (not that the coins amounted to a high number). I would definitely return in the future for any other damage. I would like to note that I hade my hood repainted at another location prior to this and the result was not great. The reflection was blurred compared to the mirror like reflection from the rest of the car. I didn't have this issue with Central Valley. read more

I was here last year, I can't complain about the body work. They repaired and resprayed my bumper, no complains there, the body work was good. But they got overspray (black paint) on my nice, silver wheels, and what appears to be glue or clear coat INSIDE my car, on the shift knob, and on the door handle. They obviously were getting in and out of my car with wet glue or clear coat or SOMETHING on their gloves. To this day I've not been able to get it out and I still have overspray on my $1,200 Volk wheel. I can vouch for the quality of their body work, but I can't vouch for attention to detail. unfortunately, had several valuable items stolen from my car while left in the care of the shop for a few days under an insurance claim. The shop is not in a particularly safe neighborhood to begin with, but the fact that they take the car offsite to a car wash down the street, and leave the cars unsupervised, is unacceptable. When I immediately pointed out the losses one picking up my car, one of the owners shrugged, looked confused, and said they can't always be responsible for items left in the vehicles. Really?? I'm fairly sure that legally ethically and morally they're obligated to protect the car and its contents when it's dropped off for an insurance claim for repair. But they most certainly should not be taking the cars outside of their facility, and leaving them unsupervised to get washed in an area that clearly is not a safe PG rated neighborhood. Just wanted to send a shout out to Mike, Natalie and Team, for straightening me out. . Fender benders do happen and Mike and his team took me in quick and got me hooked up with a rental fast. Team CVA made the process easy and performed a thorough inspection on the damages, which were not mentioned by the other drivers insurance. Excellent service. A lady hit my car and Galpin Honda recommended that I take it here for the repair. They made it look like new. The work was completed in a reasonable amount of time and they took the amount that State Farm gave for the estimate. The molding on my door was brittle from the sun and crumbled when they worked on the car and they replaced it even though it wasn't included on the estimate. I had my car done the end of June (Toyota Highlander) and it took about a week. As the sign says inside, they cannot guarantee an exact completion date. But they got mine done in time for a trip so I was happy. After returning home, I realized the paint was not as smooth and shiny as it had been when new and I kept meaning to get back there. Two months slipped away and I finally made it in. Mike C., the owner, looked the car over and said it had never been buffed out (and in all honesty, I was pushing to have the car for my vacation) and to bring it back in a week.
