This restaurant gives a vibe of family dining. Two TV on each end of the restaurant are playing sports evens most of the time for the sports fans. The food is good and the service warm and welcoming. I will definitely do back again! Went there for the very first time for my first birthday with the boyfriend so it has some sentimental value for me as well. read more

I had the chicken parm to go. The place was clean and well decorated from what I saw as I waited for my meal (which did not take unreasonably long to make). The chicken parm was... good but not great. For the prices they charge in this town, it should be pretty great. Or at least significantly better than average. This was only marginally better than average. And the spaghetti was a bit... either overcooked or not made fresh in the store. If I'm going to a restaurant with these prices in a posh neighborhood like this, I expect them to make the pasta in-house. I will go there again if I don't find a better place nearby - if only because it is conveniently close to my place and it is not bad. But it is not a place that I'm excited to get back to soon. read more

Had the eggplant parmesan. Some places serve this dish so that the eggplant is barely recognizable, but this was clearly eggplant. It was tasty and served nicely, with spaghetti on the side. The sauce tasted like the type on canned spaghetti, but it was good. Basically an upscale pizza place. I would go back. read more

Very good pizza, but missing just a little something. The chicken parmesian was good, but the pasta with mushrooms was excellent. Good service, fairly good sound proofing but the bagel/deli regrigerator cases and the soda display from a long gone previous tennant keep it from being as quaint as it could be. read more

All four of us loved the food, but the noise level made conversation very difficult, even with the very small tables. Would have definitely given another star had it been quieter. Two of us each had a soup and an app. One had the tilapia, which was perfectly prepared, and the fourth in the group remarked that if there is better homemade pasta with mushrooms, he had never had it -- and that included in Italy. Add to the above 2 Peroni beers and one dessert and the total was $101 + gratuity. The owner/maître d' was attentive and caring but the wait staff needed too much attention. It took 3 requests to get the check! Will definitely give it another try - maybe for lunch, when maybe it will be more quiet. read more

This place has great food!! The only problems with this place are that the tables are way too small (it was a squeeze to fit our appetizers on the table), and the noise level is crazy.... We couldn't even hear our waiter. I had the tiger shrimp with broccoli rabe (the best broccoli rabe I've ever had) my husband had the lamb chops. he's hard to please and he loved it. Didn't try the octopus I'd read other reviews suggesting to order it, but I figure I'll wait until my next visit. We'll definitely be back . read more

I love this place. The owners and staff are so friendly. I often feel like I am a very special guest in their own home. The food is very fresh especially the seafood. I love the branzino and basically any fish I have ordered there. I also enjoy the soups and the brick oven pizza is fantastic. We often eat there during the week with our kids and everyone loves it. It is a little pricey and the decor is casual but there is something very special about the place and I really appreciate the high quality of food and the unique and gracious service. Anyone that says this place isn't good must have an alterior motive--it's definitely worth a visit. read more

The Branzino is perfection. In fact it's my favorite spot to have fish. They even make their own limoncello which is better than my recipe! Everything is good here so definitely try the the Oslo bucco if it is the special. Pizza with procuitto is amazing. Just make sure you make reservations because it can get very busy!!! read more

I am a definate fan of their food, not so much their prices. I would recommend the turkey lettuce tomato bacon and avacado wrap. Their chocolate ice cream is made in the restuarant and is to die for. The one thing I never did like were the sauteed string beans, there was enough oil collected at the bottom of the tin that i could have fried chicken with the remainder. Very small, they should pay more attention to who comes in the door, I was waiting to be seated a lot longer than expected. Not that there were no tables, but no one came to greet. Undecided!! (not me, the management) I have eaten here many times but have finally given up. You can get a good $12 pizza or a great $42 sole. Unfortunately the noise (and its very noisy) which might be acceptable in a neighborhood pizzeria is simply not acceptable when you are spending $150 (for two) for a fine fish dinner. Antonio and Joseph should decide whether they want to run a fine italian fish restaurant or a friendly neighborhood pizzeria. You just can't have it both ways. Oh, by the way the seafood is truly great. But oh the noise from the family groups coming for the pizza which is amplified by the hard surfaced floor, walls, and ceiling. They could lessen the problem by not having tables for more than four persons and by discouraging large groups eating the inexpensive pizzas... It was truly a great place for seafood before it became a busy pizzeria. read more

I am with EH below. We just discovered this place. Had lunch 2 weeks back; great paninis with fresh ingredients-mozzerella, basil, Italian meats etc. Just had dinner there this past weekend. I had an unbreaded, baked eggplant special that was phenomenal. Very authentic Italian. I don't really care how the bread in the basket is. That's not what I'm there for. There was not an empty table to be had with a line out the door. The only downside was that it was a bit loud and noisy....but worth it! Prego! read more

Pretty good restaurant. Loud and tight though. I ordered the Tre Staggione pie.. Delish. I also ordered the Pappardelle Nonna which is a bolognese sauce with peas and shrooms but there was really no meat in the sauce and the pasta cooked a minute too long as I love my pasta close to al dente. Hubby ordered the Grilled chicken over the green salad. He said it was very good but the greens were a bit wilted. I will go back but prefer to when it isnt crowed and so loud. That clientele is rough to dine with. The owner/manager does not have a warm personality either as the other reviews say.. but we are there to eat and not BS. read more

Great local spot. Went with my husband and 2 kids. Started with the pizza and lentil soup both were great. For our meals we got the funghi pasta and siciliano. The siciliano was definitely better but both were great. They have us complimentary biscotti which we all enjoyed. Will definitely be back! read more

I love love love the wood oven pizza here, the salads are fresh, and the grilled octopus salad is amazing. i enjoy the slow pace at dinner, but have not eaten here for lunch, or had the paninis, so i cannot comment on that. i think the food is really authentic and delicious. read more

I really enjoys the meat sauce and homemade noodles, I really need to go back and try the pizza. This is actually what we were supposed to be trying the, there was just so much with the two appetizers we ordered that I could barely touch the entree. Now I know better, and I know how to order next time, looking around the room I saw allot of people with whole lobsters that also looked wonderful, the owner or manager seemed to greet everyone with a warm handshake and a very friendly welcoming attitude which was a very pleasant surprise. We love this place and have been many times. It's a great, casual place to go with the family. It's the only place around that has excellent pizza and delicious fresh seafood. Their other entrees are great too! I love the salads and the baked eggplant special. The complimentary biscotti is always a welcome treat at the end. Love this place! By far the best pizza in the area. They also have an amazing selection of panini's. I typically go for the fried calamari and the "Quattro Formaggio" pizza. It's got 4 different cheeses and is absolutely delicious. The calamari is probably the best I've had on Long Island & the service is great. Also, I almost forgot but they have unbelievable Veal Parmigiana! The management goes above and beyone to make sure this place is kept running like clockwork. This is probably one of my favorite Italian restaurants on Long Island. Fresh food and friendly service. The octopus is always fresh and well prepared. The brick oven pizza rates with the ones is Napoli, Italy. The owner Antonio is always present in the restaurant and greet you. The food here is ok where they really stand out is in their seafood. The staff is friendly and attentive and the owners could not be nicer. My only issue here lies in the pricing. the food is solid, not great(though some of the seafood is very good) but for the prices they are not worth it. I have eaten similar quality food at much nicer places for the prices they charge. I gave them an extra star however for their staff who are beyond nice and accommodating. read more

A Long Island gem. FRESH FISH of the Med. Sea, prepared as only a Sicillian Chef can. If you LOVE Octopus, this joy of the sea is prepared several ways, each a gastronomic wonder. True Scampi, that native of the Adriatic with Linguini Fra Diavlo is a delight. No liquor, but a very nice selection of Italian wines round out a delightful dining experience. The owners are present to seat you at all times, and are friendly in a professional manor. This is kind of an odd place. It's not particularly friendly or welcoming, although we did get a sense that it caters primarily to regulars (and, as a result, not to first-timers like us). At first, we were shown to a tiny table that would never have held the two personal pizzas we intended to order. When we asked for a larger one, we were told they were for larger groups. Then, when we decided to leave, we were given a slightly larger one. The service is fairly efficient, if a little brusque, but it did take a little longer than usual to get our meat and pasta dishes. The food was fine, but not anything that you can't get in other area restaurants with more friendly atmospheres and sometimes lower prices. The complimentary biscotti at the end of the meal was a nice touch. The avoidance of American Express cards was not, since this restaurant does not charge bargain prices. Overall, we wouldn't go back. It was all kind of ho-hum. Plus, it can be tough to find parking in the too-small lot if you get there later in the evening. read more

Dont really ever care to write a review but this place definitely deserves one. The food is mediocre at best and the portions are average to small. Which is not different than any of your average pizza/family restaurants. What set this apart was the constant upselling from the wait staff and owner. I went last night with my family after moving to the area. Its a local place and seened nice enough from the outside. Once inside uou are asked ..what wine are you having tonight...am I bringing pana or pelligino. I expect this a pretentious manhattan style restaurants but not at a glencove pizza place place. Two of us ordered a shrimp special, which was ok, but aaout 20min after ordering the specials we were posed the question if we wanted to upgrade to the larger more tastey shrimp by who I thought to be the owner....It is the special I thought, I never looked at the menu or asked the price, I ordered the special, shouldnt you just make the special however you planned on making it? Im in the service business and quickly realized the establisment tries to give off the appeareance of a family style restaurant with the jolly careing owner and his helping staff but just realize he is only sizing you up for how much cash he can extract from you. I have no problem with a large bill or mediocre food just please dont make me feel like a mark. It was a completely surreal and sad experience. read more
