If you are looking for a more refined lounge in DCA this is it (so is the American Air lounge). The ambiance is elegant and it feels upscale. Maybe it is just luck but it had less of a crammed cafeteria feel than some lounges. The food buffet is decent (hint the Club loves chicken). They also offer vegetables and some desserts (the thin chocolate chips are a thing). Service is friendly. Overall a good experience. read more

Finally made it here since my gates are always at the other end of DCA but I wasn't impressed. Crowded, kind of dirty and the food (breakfast) was not good. To top it off, the women's room was closed the whole time I was there. Maybe if I was there later in the day and could get a drink or glass or wine, I'd be more impressed but in general, I think the Centurion lounges I've been to so far are subpar. read more

A large lounge that is a great respite from the airport chaos. Full service. Great WiFi and friendly staff make for an enjoyable experience. Plenty of seating. Down side is the elevator puts you right at the entrance so it gets bottlenecked very quickly with incoming and exiting people all vying for the elevator landing space. Early mornings no big deal. The food and options are fairly universal to all Centurion lounges. However, I have this lounge three stars because almost no one looked remotely happy to be at work. Everyone was frowning or looked upset. Fairly new amex lounge. Was only here for breakfast so didnt get to sample the regular food menu. The entrance setup is a bit weird. The elevator opens right into the line to get in. When its busy you can barely take 2 steps off the elevator. Most people are also trying to leave via elevator, so this create a bottleneck and not great first impression. Once you get past check-in it's pretty spacious and had plenty of seating. I believe they have showers, but didnt get a chance to try for my short visit. read more

Finally the DCA centurion lounge is here. I visited the lounge on the second day it opened, around 11:30 AM and it was not busy at all. As always it lived up to its standards of food and drinks which the centurion lounges are known for. The centurion lounge check in process is a little bit cumbersome since it requires an ID, Amex CC, boarding pass and also the check in QR code on the phone (boarding pass suffices at other lounges - Amex should look into streamlining this process further). All of this takes extra time resulting in longer lines and an inferior guest experience. I also anticipate that during peak travel hours the lounge will be full like other centurion lounges due to limited seating space. Thank you Amex for bringing this lounge to DCA!!! read more

I'm my opinion most of the centurion lounges are 5/5. DCA didn't disappoint. You have to try one of their refreshers absolutely delicious. The lounge was clean and all the staff I encountered were super helpful. I really enjoyed the food options available. I ordered a lavender margarita from the bar and it was amazing. read more

This is one of the more spacious Centurion Lounges out there. It's very easy to get to if you use the south security checkpoint. They have the normal food and drink offerings that you'd expect at an AMEX lounge, and they were doing a good job of keeping the food well stocked. Overall this lounge is worth stopping in if you're at DCA airport! read more

I'm pleasantly surprised that they have a Centurion lounge in DCA. The food was actually pretty good. I love that. They have plenty of vegetarian options. However, I was disappointed with their cookie. It was pretty dry. Their hibiscus drink was so good and their filtered water tastes great I refilled my water bottle prior to heading out. My first Centurion Lounge experience & it was definitely better than some other airport lounges I've been to. Breakfast buffet had a good variety to choose from. Fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, hot items (eggs, chicken maple sausage, potatoes), and some pastries. Several coffee stations were located throughout the lounge, with the typical hot options and a cold brew tap to boot! Sadly no to-go cups though so I poured my latte & extra shot of espresso into my Contigo from earlier. Bar was open for complimentary breakfast drinks. This is properly one of the most popular Centurion Lounge other than SF and JFK. It doesn't matter what time and which day, this lounge always pack with people. Sometime, there will be a line waiting to get in. Service was good and staff often come to clear out disk. However, the bar is very slow and often only with one bartender and the line get pretty long. Make sure you try out their signature cocktail. Sometime the breakfast and lunch food option are 80% of the same. The food option could limited comparing to other lounge. If it was 11:30am , then it should be lunch and not breakfast. Many lounge chairs need replace or upgrade. Somehow I still see many kids and foods were all over the floor. I believe they do have a section for AE Black card holder (the mystical black AE card ..wow). I always take 7 am flights out of DCA and surrounding areas and have never heard of this. Even the low tier Amex lounges have hot breakfast upon opening. I really think they need to change this. This was my first time here since it opened. It pretty spacious. There is a full bar but I didn't have a hard time ascertaining ice. I liked the selections of hot abs cold foods. It's very welcoming and everybody can really spread out. The elevator speed is rather slow but they do have stairs--just two flights. It pretty nice and presents a great alternative to the Delta sky lounge which is a little smaller and can get a little crowded at times. read more

Had 30 minutes before I needed to head to my gate, so popped in for a quick bite. Heard it was new so wanted to check it out. I was checked in quickly and surprised to see how large this lounge was. One of the best Centurion Lounges I've seen in the states. They have a full bar with TVs, drink bar for coffee and juices, multiple seating areas, one food bar, restrooms, and wifi. It is self-serve and everything was constantly replenished. On the day that I went, they were serving cold food which the host mentioned at the front, but there was a soup that I really enjoyed. read more

Cute and fancy but needs to step up its game food wise; fancier doesn't mean better. Elevator was out for half of my stay so not easy for those who aren't super mobile. Front desk staff kind and efficient. Service at the bar was quick with no complaints. Bathrooms large with trendy soaps and lotions. Food though is almost cut and paste from other Amex Lounges. The day I was there, it was cold quinoa salad, undercooked asparagus, tasty polenta, and questionable chimichuri chicken thighs that were grey. I stopped in very early one recent morning for an early weekend flight out. Check-in was easy and friendly but I was quite surprised with how busy it already was immediately on opening at 5am. I was hoping to enjoy a salmon benedict I saw a photo of on the earlier reviews of the lounge, but was very disappointed to learn they do not serve hot breakfast until after 6am! I'd be nearly boarding my flight by then, so sadly not to be this time. The cold breakfast offerings at 5am were, to be clear, dismal. Unappetizing croissants, and some sad looking fruit. Unpleased with the offering and having access to the nearby Delta SkyClub, I left. Trying not to judge it too harshly having had the minimal experience. Finally a lounge at DCA! Have been waiting for this for years! This is located near the A&B gates, and you have to take an elevator or stairs to the second floor. The elevator was very slow-- and it's small...so I could imagine that when it's busy, it could take a bit of time to go up if you have luggage with you and don't want to lug it up the stairs. Beautiful, clean, and elegant. Buffet had decent food options (e.g., salad bar, chicken, polenta, asparagus). Not many dessert items (cookies available). TVs were on the spritz and "breaking up/ frozen". Considering how new they are...wouldn't expect to see this type of problem. The addition of this lounge to DCA has been long needed. The lack of non-proprietary airlines lounges has been a longstanding detriment of going to DCA. Likewise, I am not particularly impressed by the touted advancements of the American Airlines lounges at DCA. Soon, however, other card-branded clubs are coming; perhaps something to look forward to. As to the club itself, it is a lovely and relaxing space with ample and comfortable seating and excellent quality beverages. Great art; great ambiance; great service. The food--namely the produce--is fresh and high quality. The prepared (hot) food, on the other hand, seems to vary; and tends to be late in being displayed. My biggest issue, however, is that the lounge itself was delayed by approximately 20 minutes in opening on the occasion of writing this review. Many fellow patrons waited around aimlessly; and many yet had to leave prior to the delayed opening. A notification or minor recompense would have gone a long way. Likewise, the beverages receive a strong "meh", especially when compared to other AmEx lounge locations. I will say the alcoholic drinks, while pretty, pale in comparison to the non-alcoholic ones. A huge plus is that showers are offered here. Napping rooms would be great, even if limited in number. Though not the fault of the staff nor AmEx, some customers are prone to behaving like animals. Sometimes one must prepare themself for Wild West levels of buffoonery. Otherwise, enjoy! read more

This is one of the nicer Centurion Lounges. There was a lot of open seating (midday on a Monday), the food was great as were the drinks.

This was my fourth Centurion lounge in a week and DCA was my favorite. SEA had great views and I liked how it overlooked the terminal. It was open and didn't feel cramped at all. LAX was like a maze, but the food was better than SEA. JFK was inconvenient because it was in terminal 4 and my flight was leaving from terminal 8. I didn't feel relaxed because you have to pass through security twice. As a result, I didn't get to go to the speakeasy. Maybe next time. JFK also felt cramped to me, but the food was good. DCA is my favorite of the four this week. A good combination of openness and yummy food. My FAVORITES were the thin, crunchy, chewy chocolate chip cookies (also in SEA) but their banana vanilla ice cream was amazing! I almost went back for seconds but I controlled myself. Over the past year, there has been a STEEP decline in these lounges across the board, DCA included. The place is invariably mobbed. Long line to get to the desk where you're then informed there's a waiting list. This has happened in several airports. DCA especially bad. Avoid if you don't want to waste your time! read more

I have enjoyed every Centurion Lounge I have ever visited. I am not without standards: some of the places in the Priority Pass collection are better than sitting at the gate, and that is only saying you are not stuck in a crowd, and you have access to a few sad looking items in the buffet. The airline lounges, for the domestic carriers and not at the elite level (I don't have that kind of money), are okay: United at the hub of Newark is a standout; Delta has done well throughout their system, and the newer Alaska lounges are not bad, while Virgin America at LAX was a disappointment. But overseas there are much better options. Stateside, BA and Turkish are a step up. The DCA version of the Centurion Lounge is excellent. It also was very crowded on a Saturday afternoon, when the airport itself was only moderately full. My wife and I, joined by our dog, had a light supper before the flight, enough to tide us over until we made it to the west coast. We used the restrooms. I wish they weren't charging extra for guests. That is the market though. I'd say we got the value out of it we would have expected. She had a glass of rose. If you have an American Express card that gains access (Platinum and up), I don't see why you would not go in. (I have been inside the Delta lounge at DCA, and this is better.) I remember when Amex rolled out this perq. They set the standard. Now, everyone is trying to be a digital nomad. That is how the world has changed. read more
