One of the better pastry shops I've ever been too. The shop is on the smaller side but they have a half dozen tables to sit at to enjoy a coffee and one of their treats. I've had the pleasure of eating over a half dozen of their delicious European cakes. All phenomenal. One standout is their chocolate cannoli cake made with ricotta cheese filling. Absolutely wonderful. It can get busy like great places can but the staff there are pleasant and efficient making things move along quickly. I had a chance to stop by Cerratos today for a little sweet treat. I have visited Cerratos numerous times in the past on different occasions and they never fail to impress me. I have never wrote a review on them up until now. I have tried their bob bons , brownies, cannolis among other pastries. I enjoy them all. However this is my first time buying truffles from them. I wasn't aware of the price point for the truffles which $1.75 per each truffle. I do think it's a little pricey for a small item which is one of the reasons I think why I never purchased them because I assumed they were by weight in a bag not by quantity. The reason for the four stars is for the price point on singular truffles & that there are no prices listed in front of the pastries or desserts , so no one knows how much something is before purchasing unless they ask. The service was okay typical pastry shop service. The ambiance wasn't super busy for a Monday afternoon. I do enjoy their desserts but I don't think paying almost $2.00 for one tiny thing is worth it , by the time you know it , it's a whole bag equivalent of truffles from another chocolatier brand if not more. When you walk in, you get the feeling that this place is going to be PRICEY!! But I'll tell you, it's definitely a spoil yourself place and worth every dollar spent. These are some of the best pastries and sweets I've had in a long time. Every piece I had hit the spot for my sweet tooth. It's a once a week visit with one new item to try every time. The pistachio strawberry cake was the perfect amount of sweet and creamy, super moist. There was no line, kind of a gaggle because everyone is in awe of the beauty that sits before them, but the staff seemed to be on top of who came in and when. Just make eye contact and you're next. It feels very comfortable and inviting in the shop. There are seats within the shop but after your first bite you'll probably want to leave because of how bad you want to devour the rest of the pastry and not want to embarrass yourself in front of everyone. I am not from the area, Cerratos came recommended to me as I was in search of a bakery for the pull apart (cupcake) cake I wanted for my sister's 40th. I emailed the photo of what I was looking for an asked if they could make the cake look close to the cake in the picture, they said yes. I stopped in the place the order in-person, and asked if they could make it look like the cake in the picture and if not I would give them another design. The person I met with had a question which I answered. She said it'll be ready in the morning when they open. On the morning of, we had a busy day planned but since Cerratos was the furtherest from my sister's I decided we go pick up the cake first. We got there about an hour after they opened, the cake was not ready. The lady said 5 minutes, which turned into more than 30 minutes. When the cakes came out we were in a rush to leave, heard their instructions about placements of the cakes so the cupcakes don't move, etc. I didn't notice until we got to my sister's house, that they had not put frosting underneath the cupcakes to help them stay in place. Some of the cupcakes had tilted over and the strawberries had fallen off. Then I noticed there were no macrons, which was in the picture and Cerratos sells macrons. The cake did not look good for pictures at my sister's bday dinner. Whatever they used for the big gold balls on the cupcake, people thought were fake because they were so hard to chew through. Good thing we did not have kids at the dinner. The cupcakes were dry and there were little filling in the cupcakes that had them. To conclude: What I got was not worth what I paid for. I would rather have had the bakery say no to my cake request. And be realistic about when the cake would be ready. If there is some unforeseen circumstance that delays when it will be ready, call me. I would have been understanding to that. Don't over promise and under deliver. I gave Cerratos 2 stars because the carrot cake was delicious and the girl in the front on the day we went to pick up the cake was very nice. Thanks! read more

I had my heart set on another baker for our wedding cake and when we did our tasting, I was so disappointed. The cake was so dry and a cake for 100 guests (which included two sheet cakes) would have been over $1100. We continued our search and thankfully found Cerrato's. I was blown away by how affordable and delicious their cake was. All of the flavors were delicious and the cake was less than half the price of the first baker. They were also able to accommodate our gluten-free guests with some cupcakes. If your in western Mass, I highly recommended Cerrato's! This pastry shop was conveniently located next to the tailor for my wedding dress. Ironically so... I did go to the shop 3 times over the last 6 months. The first time with my mom- we got a peanutbutter bonbon, and a pineapple coconut cake both were decadent. Perfect consistency, not dry at all. The second time, my maid of honor bought an entire box of pastries for the wedding weekend. Turnovers, scones, cinnamon sticks, pie pockets. I thought the blueberry and cherry turn over filling was way to sweet and too much filling for my liking but the apple one was pretty good. The cinnamon sticks were not as cinnamon as I hoped. They were crunchy and not gooey also. The last time I went I purchased a peanutbutter brownie (more like cake than gooey brownie), a few turnovers and some biscotti. The biscotti were amazing. The turnovers were better than the last time, a better pastry to filling ratio that made it less sickening sweet. All in all I like the bakery, everything is always fresh and tasty. I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to go there but it's nice to stop if I'm in the area. Also, I went on thanksgiving eve the last time and they were incredibly efficient. Our wedding cake was beautiful. Working with Bella was very easy and she helped us figure out exactly what we wanted and sizing of the cake based on our guest count. They used our dog figurines and cake topper exactly how we asked. We ended up with a mixture of cupcakes and cake. We received so many compliments on the design and taste. They delivered to our venue seamlessly. My only gripe is we special ordered 2 cannolis to be delivered with the cake and cupcakes for a specific guest. I called the night before to confirm all the details, but the cannolis did not make it to the venue. Otherwise, it was a very positive experience! So, I didn't physically go to the bakery. I had ordered from door dash. I've heard my coworkers mention this place to me. I just never really go up this way to go there. I was definitely pleased with what I ordered and it tasted delicious. So, I ordered an original cannoli. It had mini chocolate chips inside. I feel like the pastry for the cannoli was freshly made. It wasn't too thick. It was just the right amount of thickness for the cannoli shell and very crispy and flakey. The cannoli filling was on point. Not too sweet either. It hit the spot. I also ordered a pistachio cream puff. The puff was soft in the inside and held its own. Didn't get soggy at all. The pistachio cream puff was very good too. Had some chopped up pistachio in the inside and on the outside. You could actually taste the pistachio in the cream and wasn't very over powering. All in all I liked it a lot. And especially coming from door dash and being on point with the flavor. Amazing! Defiant need to go there in person to see all the sweet goodies I can get. Sorry, no pictures where taken. I have had Cerrato's before and I've only ever been disappointed once, and that just have just been an off day for them. My Birthday cake my husband got me did not disappoint me at all. It was a strawberry champagne cake and it was delicious on my birthday and the next two days as we ate leftovers it was still moist and delicious. I stopped in for a birthday cupcake. What I really wanted was a pile of buttercream frosting in the shape of a cupcake. After perusing the display cases... multiple times, I decided on a FEW items. Before I got there, I'd called a girlfriend and asked if she wanted anything, a cannoli was her answer. I picked up two. There was also this coconut topped tart with chocolate ganache and chocolate cream. When I inquired what it contained, I was told it was like a girl scout cookie. Had to add it. Lastly, I picked out my cupcake. Anyone who knows me, knows that I love chocolate. I was terribly disappointed that that chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting were seriously lacking in the frosting. Right next to them, the vanilla cupcakes had huge mounds of buttercream. So, vanilla won out this time. I was told that the cannoli was good. Shared the tart and it was a nice change. The cupcake was just passable. The frosting wasn't as decadent to me as in the past. I will say it looked VERY pretty. I'm just one of those folks that taste wins out over aesthetics any day. After this, I'm still in need of a decadent buttercream frosting fix. read more

MINI PASTRIES..??? YOU ARE KIDDING ME. A couple of years ago before my retirement, I purchased mini pastries trays as a thank you for my customers. The trays were rich with a variety of pastries, large enough to enjoy, and colors that made an attractive as well as a tasteful experience. Because I had such a good experience giving these to my customers, when I was asked to bring dessert, I thought mini pastries would be great to provide for Thanksgiving at a gathering of 10 friends and family. So, I ordered 24 pieces. WHAT A MISTAKE. When they brought out the tray, I nearly fell over. The tray had 24 pieces of pastries, with the exception of the cannolis, that were about 1" square spread out on an 18" tray. I can't describe to you the feeling of embarrassment I experienced carrying in a tray of dessert pastries for a group of 10 adults that was more like a tasting tray for 6 year old children. I would never recommend that you order mini pastries from this bakery. I believe that you would do far better ordering these at their competitors bakery located on Main Street in Springfield. Although this is a great place for nearly everything else, I would definitely STAY AWAY from the extremely small portions of dessert that they call mini pastries. I think they sound rename the tray as a MINI TASTING of their fine products. read more
