Called Cert-A-Roof due to water leaking from our bonus room ceiling. Paul came out and inspected our roof and attic. He wore bootie shoe covers and took numerous photographs. After identifying the cause of the problem, Paul gave us options on fixing it. He didn't pressure us to go with him for the repairs. Instead, Paul completed a detail report with pictures that he said could be used with whomever we decided to go with. My wife and I were impressed with Paul. My father had a horrible leak in his roof and needed to get it fixed, as well as get new gutters. I called Cert-A-Roof for an estimate. They arrived 30 minutes early for the appointment! Paul and Ryan looked at the damage in the living room, checked other rooms for more leaks, then went up on the roof where they found broken roof tiles and unsealed pipes. When they were done with the inspection, we were handed a twenty-seven page report of all the problems! We decided to have them do the repairs. They kept on schedule even though it had drizzled the night before. They found the same tiles that my father had on his roof (which was pretty amazing, since his roof is pretty old) so that everything matched perfectly. They replaced the broken tiles and damaged plywood, installed new felt, and sealed the penetrations. When they were doing their repairs, they found that the chimney flashing was too short, got a new one custom-made for us, and didn't charge us extra! We also got the new gutters. My father's roof is very long so Paul discussed it with the gutter guy and had him install another downspout in order to prevent the gutter from sagging in the future. Not only that, but customer service was excellent! Paul sent me emails every day to keep me informed of what was going on. When things got delayed, he told me exactly what had happened. When the gutter guy broke tiles as he installed the new gutters, Paul had to buy extra tiles, and he did not charge us for this. He and Ryan answered all of my questions and concerns, and they made some changes to the gutter for my father without any complaints. They went above and beyond the call of duty. They were totally awesome and I'll definitely call them again when I need a roofer. These guys are amazing! read more

Paul came out to my house because I found some sort of metal piece up on my roof. As soon as I told him I was worried it was going to come off the roof and hurt one of the kids, he came over immediately (within 20 minutes). Once he got there, he went up on the roof and saw that it was a vent housing which had blown up. Paul put the vent housing in place and said he would do a roof inspection while he was up there. I stood at the bottom of the ladder waiting for all the work that he was going to tell needed to be done after his roof inspection, but he surprised me by saying my roof looks good and did not need any work. There was no damage to my roof, so Paul left without charging me a dime. If you're looking for customer service and integrity, look no further! A business partner and I are working on renovating a 1920's Spanish home. Les was very compassionate and helpful! I purchased a home and wanted a thorough inspection of the roof (per my inspection recommended). Les came out in two days, completed a thorough inspection with pictures. He applied half the cost of my inspection towards the cost of repairs. I thought I only needed some roof tiles nailed back on..they had come loose and had shifted. Saw the great reviews on yelp, and after doing some checking, contacted Cert-A-Roof. Paul answered the phone (imagine getting an actual person, instead of an answering machine :) ), and informed me his father Les could stop by and take a look. Les was punctual, easy to talk to, and answered my questions, showing me where the roof had issues and recommended we redo the roof. He informed me that he is not the cheapest roofing company, but they do the job right. The workers were polite and they cleaned up prior to leaving each day. Also, I asked Les if the wood that is replaced along the roof is painted to match the rest of the house..he stated that it's painted with primer..and when I asked him if he could paint it to match, he said they would take care of it if I bought the paint..so l did, and they took care of it without charging me extra :). Paul also came by to give an estimate to replace the rain gutters....he was on time and friendly, and answered all my questions, and gave suggestions regarding additional future work well need. The rain gutter installers were on time, curteous, and answered my questions. The new rain gutters look great! During the project, Les and Paul were accessible via phone, and replied to my emails. I could just say ditto to all the 5 star ratings here..that's how good they are. Paul came out and gave us an initial estimate. We had an asphalt roof (32 yrs old) over a wood shake that was about 60 years old. That meant a whole roof removal. We had a lot of termite damage so Les came out to discuss that. He also recommended some things to add to our home to save energy and and we chose to do those also (thermal barriers and insulation). We can already feel he difference those changes made. The roof is completed and beautiful. It looks just as we'd hoped it would. The crew was polite...and very hard workers...cleaned up each day..and Completely cleaned everything up on the last day. Paul was exceptional. We are in escrow and very few companies are willing to inspect and certify a roof on a home that is in escrow (liability reasons). Paul was extremely professional, responsive, and knowledgable about roofing. Most importantly, he is honest. He will tell you what the roof needs, how much he would charge to do the work, but also that you might be able to shop it around for better pricing. But going with Cert A Roof may just be worth slightly higher pricing because they have been in the roofing business for more than just one generation. They really know their stuff and would do quality work that lasts. They follow the regulations and legal codes strictly and don't cut corners. I wanted a free estimate for a tear-off and re-roof and was surprised to find out that cert-a-roof doesn't give free estimates like other roofing companies. They quoted me a $79 "inspection fee" that would apply toward any work I had them do. No thank you. I didn't need them to tell me I needed a new roof for $79, I needed a quote for replacing the roof. I suppose you might consider paying this if you were contemplating buying a house, but other than that, get at least 3 (free) estimates from other roofers. read more

Paul came out to do a roof inspection and quote on a property I was purchasing. He was punctual, honest, and professional. He knew the brand name of the tiles without even removing one. Paul was very careful not to walk on the roof due to it being a lightweight tile and cracks can happen very easily. Paul was very accommodating and scheduled a day for his crew to repair the roof.
