I feel like I was dealing with a scam artist. He brought a zip lock bag filled with black colored fiber and stuffed it into the cavity inside the gas dryer and took a photo with his smart phone. Next, he said "come here, look at this" and showed us the photo displayed on his smart phone. He also presented the ziplock and said "this is what I pulled out of your dryer." Honestly, I knew right away it wasn't the same lint from our dryer, but I said nothing. My dryer roller and belt worked smoothly before he arrived. Yet, he insisted they needed replacement. He reassembled the dryer and after he left, we realized the vibrating dryer. He returned to correct the problem and said he needed to adjust the bearings. Whatever he did it didn't last. A month later we're stuck with a rattling noise while the dryer drum goes around. Of course, they want more money to return for this problem. They only guarantee labor for 30 days. It's been about 6 weeks since that last visit. His repair work was poor and they want more money from us to repair the problems he created. I would not recommend Certified Appliance to anyone. I pulled the cover off yesterday and noticed scorch marks on the inside back of the cabinet above the gas line. He did not alert us to this. Our original repair request was because we had smoke coming from the dryer. This dryer should have red tagged as unsafe for use. He replaced the burner dial unit on our gas stove, which took him 5 minutes, and didnt bother to clean the pilot light which is clogged and doesn't work. All this for $804. 4 stars, but maybe should be 5. Appliance: Asko Washer Problem: Loud concerning noise. Via the internet, tried to contact all Asko recommended certified repair people in area. I could not reach anyone or leave messages (which I shared with ASKO on line. In an effort to get the job done, I reached out to local Asko dealerships for recommended repair people and they highly recommended Certified Appliance in Canandaigua if they would come to Fairport. I called, they answered (that's a big deal). An appointment was made for a very reasonable wait time and Aaron (Owner/Operator) was here within the very small window I was expected to wait on my appointment day. My washer was fixed at a reasonable charge. Aaron is now researching a part for my Asko dryer (extra request) and since my washer issue was fixed in a timely fashion, Aaron also agreed to stay and help with a small maintenance on my Bosch range for a reasonable charge. Yes, there was a diagnostic charge, which none of us want to incur; but their time (travel, etc.) and knowledge come at a cost. I will call Certified Appliance again should I have any issues down the road. read more

I wish i had looked at reviews before we went with this company. We own an oven that can only be serviced through this particular company and after several attempts of emailing and calling, someone finally had set up a service call. The repairman (who was originally the owners son, and currently the new owner of the business), came to our home to evaluate our problem. He stated that a part needed to be ordered and should be available within a week, and it also needed to be paid for prior to him ordering it. Against our better judgement, we gave him a check, which was immediately cashed. We hadn't heard from him for over 3 weeks, and finally his wife/significant other, called us back to let us know that the part was going to be in 4 months and we might want to call the parts company ourselves to get a better response. She said she would email the part number so we could attempt to do this on our own, and she would also refund our money we originally paid them for the part. Well that never happened! No response email and no money returned! I would not recommend using this company as they are only trying to steal your money!! read more

I am not the type to write these reviews but I have used Kiernan for years. I call him the appliance Guru. He has even diagnosed things for me that my electrician didn't find. They are small so sometimes you might have to be patient. They prioritize based on the severity of the issue. There is nothing he can't fix. Of course they charge a fee to come to your house. Their time isn't free. He has fixed many things in my house and on a rare occasion says it's not worth it. Get a new one. Extremely trust worth and would not use anyone else. read more

This company stole our money! They are crooks! The owner came out immediately to evaluate problem a we had with our dishwasher, then said he needed to order parts so paid for them up front (which was against our better judgement). He said it would take 3-5 days for parts to come in and would call at that time to arrange for a time to come back. Within next 10 days, I called them 4 times asking for return call - never received one. They cashed our check almost immediately. NEVER came back to complete the job. Do NOT use them. Horrible. Have dealt with this company several times, and have been extremely unimpressed. Calls are never answered, voicemails left are returned weeks later (if ever, they do not return calls at all unless you call back multiple times), and customer service is lacking to say the least. If they don't have the parts necessary to fix your appliance it takes weeks/months for them to order the needed parts, and you have to hound them every step of the way. THIS COMPANY SUCKS. DO NOT USE THEM. I have made 2 appointments with them in the past month... The first appointment I was scheduled to be visited between 2-5PM on a Friday afternoon, and at about 4:30PM I got a call from a call center, and on top of barely being able to understand the representative, I was informed the repair man encountered a "personal issue" that prevented him from coming out and following through with an appointment we'd made a week and a half earlier. I don't know about you, but that sounds like a lazy ass repairman who wanted to clock out early on a Friday to me. A few weeks later I made another appt. for today during the same time frame and was called at 2:30PM by another unintelligible Indian woman telling me "there's nobody certified to work on Kenmore appliances available today, so you should go with another service..." Mind you, this was after I had this appointment booked for over a week, and they call me the day of to cancel when I'm already here. Also, on both occasions when I booked the respective appointments, the schedulers I dealt with were extremely unprofessional on the phone, and were giving me attitude about not being able to tell them exactly what's wrong because I'm not an oven repair man.... On top of it all, when you book these appointments they put a ridiculously large hold on your credit card, and charge you 50-75 bucks for just having a guy come out to diagnose the issue and nothing else. That, and they don't even do the repair on the same day. This service sucks. They're unprofessional, sour on the phone, and are more than happy to refer you to their competitors when they mess up. If I could give 0 stars out of 5 I would. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. read more
