The technician charged me $270 in cash, but the dryer vent was not cleaned properly. Even worse, the technician damaged the vent and put it back in place without telling me it was broken. When I later started my dryer, the vent fell onto the floor. Because I needed to use my dryer safely, I had to spend additional money to have the vent repaired. This happened on Wednesday, and I have repeatedly contacted Team Green to report the issue. Each time, I am told that a manager will call me back, but no one has contacted me. Now, when I call for an update, my calls are being hung up on. I am extremely disappointed with how this situation has been handled. I paid $270 for a service that was not completed properly, my property was damaged, and I had to pay additional money to correct the problem. I am moving out to sell my house and need it to look good. When the wacko showed up, he was in dirty clothes and boots. Certified Green Team out of NJ (and under the auspices of Home Pro Services is a total scam. I saw the ad pop up on my phone for certified green. The price was very reasonable to clean my dryer vent and since I was getting a new dryer in two weeks, I thought it was a great idea to have it totally cleaned out. I had a thorough cleaning done just a year ago so there should've been next to nothing in the duct. When he came, he looked without even going in the house and said oh it's very bad and he hast to give me work that would cost about $300 more. I said that's ridiculous since it had only been cleaned out recently. I did however agree give him about $50 on top of the original price because he said he would do an extra good job. It took him next to no time at all, and he never even went inside my house to look at the vent from inside the actual dryer. Practically no lint came out. Two weeks late my new dryer was installed and the installers showed me the old dryer duct, because we replaced it all with new equipment. They actually came and showed me the old vent and it was filled in the elbow with lint. They made me take pictures of it because they said I was totally scammed. They also said that I'm very lucky that I did not have a fire in my machine. I contacted consumer protection in my county, and I want to get my money back. I did call certified green and their parent company that was on the contract that I insisted I sign to show that it was paid for. The parent company is Home Pro Services. I called each of the two companies three times each. Every time I was assured that a manager would get back to me the same day. Two days after my dryer cleaning appointment, I noticed a very foul stench in my laundry room that is emanating throughout the house. The technician must have caused an additional issue which is a result of the high-powered vacuum from the cleaning service exposed or aggravated. The strong airflow from the cleaning may have created a negative air pressure, drawing sewer gas into my home. This is quite concerning especially since young children with health issues live in the home. In addition, I am a microbiologist and know these contaminants that are emitting a smell have the potential to cause bacterial infections and respiratory concerns. I contacted the company right away to inform this of this mishap and no one has resolved this issue as of yet. I was told it takes 2 business days for management to contact me about this issue and today is Friday. No urgency for a problem they caused. No professionalism, no credibility, no respect for the time. It is a total rip off. No way to get any work done even if you pay money/deposit in advance. The guy came two hours late to inspect the chimney, the minute he got in to the house he requested a double amount for inspection, then after the inspection he gave me an estimate for cleaning the chimney and replacing the liner of $2400 and that would be reduced to $2280 if I pay in cash. I had to pay him 75% of that amount for deposit which I did. He took $1,450 and said he would be back after an hour. I asked for a receipt and I received a piece of paper that has no heading, number or any sign that it was a receipt. He came back after 5 hours and it was getting dark. He just removed the vent that connects the furnace with the chimney and said would come back the next day to finish the cleaning. He never did, I spent the whole day calling the office and trying to reach him and finally the office set a time for the technician to come finish the work Friday 9 to 11 am. I wanted until 11:00 which I called the office to ask if the technician would come as scheduled but there was no clear answer so I kept waiting to hear back. at 12:30 pm on that day the technician called and informed me that he would not be coming as scheduled as there is too much work needs to be done in the chimney and there is a structural issue which would cost be between 12 to 14k. He further said that I would need a permit from the city and that takes time. When I asked for a refund he offered $53 because he did some cleaning work. They were prompt but about all I could say positive! I wish I had searched more thoroughly but figured it wasn't a big job and timing was of the essence which they had availability. I searched for upholstery cleaning. Quoted $179 (all exp's included) over the phone after answering questions. Do not accept venmo but checks are good per booking female individual who quoted me over the phone. Tech comes and quotes me just over 2x the amount for job. Tells me woman on phone doesn't know what job entails or quoted amounts. Tells me they upcharge 3% for Check payments, but I could Venmo him directly for no charge and he will pay Green Team. He is not an independent contractor he says, but also not clear if he is an employee of Green Team. I Called G.T main number and a 2nd woman told me they have employees, but they also sub out some jobs too. Anyhow I offered a certain amount for the job and tech accepted it, but boy their business practices are calculated and very suspicious and this company should only be hired at homeowners' risk (WHICH BTW Their paperwork states not responsible for damage to any of the furniture and can only be sued for a nominal amount at most). I came close to escorting him out the door but watched his every move as the woman I called was likely messaging him as well; as he went out to his minivan and sat on his phone texting for 5min right after I called. We'll see how clean the furniture is whenever it dries. Additional thoughts were no foot coverings going through the home, and no covering of any walls/furniture or flooring otherwise... This company stole a $1200 security deposit towards a chimney liner they never came back to do. My review is similar to everyone else review they tell u time then keep pushing it back. It's impossible to speak with anyone from management. Others reviews at least had work done. They just took our money and ran. I asked for refund and they said no refunds on deposit. So I'm like okay just do the work. There response since u ask for a refund we sent the parts back now all money used up and it actually cost us. We only asked for a refund when y'all kept pushing the time back and hearing conflicting information about techs not being available one minute then available at a later date. And we told them we had a deadline to have it done and if yall can't do it don't take our deposit. I even had a police officer from my county call both office and tech. Technician came and first question was is a dryer hooked up. I explain we were having them snake before connecting the new dryer. Then the technician informed me that the dryer had to be connected and running so that they could tell if it was blocked. When I explained the dryer wasn't here yet the technician then asked if I had a leaf blower. All the while he's not taking anything out of his truck except for a ladder. He then puts up the ladder takes off the bird trap we have on the outside and informs me I need to run the leaf blower for him which I do. He sticks his camera into the hole takes a picture that there's a bird's nest and tells me that in order to clean anything it'll be $550. Again the only manual labor done by the technician was to set up his ladder and crawl up his ladder all the while I'm doing the work inside. This inspection is a bait and switch when I set up the appointment I explained I wanted the vent line snaked and was told that was part of the service. At no point did the technician do anything other than stick his camera in the vent hole and take a picture.
