We were pretty full when we came by here, so we only got the butterscotch budino. I'm not sure if this is a regular item that they make, but everyone needs to try it!! Having lived in the North End for awhile, somehow never hit this spot up. We both got the breakfast sandwich and the reviews were not messing around, it rocked. Coffee was okay, not bad, not great. Snickerdoodle cookie rocked as well. The one thing I didn't love was the white normie/indie/I still get talk about bernie sanders publicly energy this place had, but living in Boise, that is to be expected unfortunately. You must go if you even remotely like English muffins or baked goods. Go now. If it's the middle of the night, at least you'll be there when they open in the morning and you'll have dibs on the fresh baked goods. Let's start with the sourdough muffins. Made with a starter much older than me, the taste is sour, delicate, and buttery. You can buy these beauties by the dozen to make sandwiches at home. Or just get the Certified sandwich. It's a classic breakfast sandwich that will ruin all breakfast sandwiches elsewhere. Cry for those lackluster Egg McMuffins once you've had one of these. I typically go for the breakfast burrito. Best I've ever had. Sliced potatoes, beans, scrambled eggs without a hint of overcooking. Hot sauce. Balanced seasoning. My only complaint is that I want the thing to be twice the size. Last time in I had a slice of their apple pie. Wowza on those tart apples and bold spices nestled in a perfect crust. Again, they're ruining me for other bakeries. But I like it. The best sourdough English muffins ever! Some good GF options. One of our favs when in Hyde Park

I thought this place was about 3.5 stars. I ordered one of the breakfast sandwiches and while the English muffin was definitely great, the egg was overcooked and not very good. An overcooked egg is pretty much a deal breaker when it's the main aspect of the sandwich. Also got the brownie cookie, which is insanely rich and too sweet, but I found it's 100% better when chilled in the fridge. They do make a pretty good matcha latte and I appreciate that it's not sweetened. read more

Seriously the best English muffins you can find and you can even buy a whole bag of them at the counter! Apart of their All Day Breakfast - The certified is an egg, arugula, white cheddar, and creme fresh sandwich ($7.50) and then for an extra $2 add all the extra goodies -- bacon, avocado, and tomato! It's the flavor and texture combination of the loaded certified that makes it the perfect breakfast sandwich. The arugula is peppery and the freshness balances out the decadence of the bacon, egg, and cheese. And once again, their homemade English muffin acts as the perfect vessel for all this goodness. All the baked goods here look so delicious! I don't know how I've fought off the temptation but when I do give in I'll update y'all on if they taste as good as they look. Certified is the perfect spot to pick up some food and drinks for a picnic at Camelbacks or in the foothills. There are grab n go salads, hummus, egg salad, beets + kale, Mediterranean farro, and the curry cauliflower potato salad which speaks to me on a spiritual level! Certified Bakery is a good example. Of you get what you pay for. It's a little more expensive than other places, but it's so good. I've tried lots of the food items. My favorite is the apricot scones. My least favorite is the olive oil chocolate cake. This place is a good addition to the neighborhood. read more

Wish I had taken pictures before I obliterated everything I bought, but I can tell you that everything was awesome! The standout was the sour cream brownie. So dark and rich and fudgy. I'm convinced that one bite of this monster is the equivalent of at least one cup of coffee. I also tried the glazed donut bread, which did not remind me even a little bit of a glazed donut, but I did not care because it was awesome. To round things off I got one of their classic sprinkle cookies because it reminded me of my childhood, the flavors and the nostalgia were both there. Oh my, I am in love! This place is a perfect addition to the Hyde Park neighborhood. Charming atmosphere, delicious coffee, and the yummiest food. And the granola on top of it is delicious. My friend ordered a breakfast burrito, so I only got to snag a bite - but I will definitely back to order one for myself sometime soon. We LOVE certified and that they use amazing ingredients which are very important to our family. We are willing to pay the extra dollar in order to provide our family with healthy food when we go out. We recently called and asked what oil they use to cook their food in (once again, top quality ingredients) and we were surprised to find out that they use a combo of canola oil (cheapest vegetable oil that has studies that they are unstable when cooked/fried with and high in polyunsaturated fats) and olive oil. We were disappointed but didn't want to say goodbye to our yummy alternative to a homemade meal. When I asked if there was a way that they could use an alternative like butter or just olive oil, the manager said they were unable to accommodate. I would expect this from a restaurant that isn't using such high quality ingredients but seeing as they do their research, it makes me disheartened that they would go the cheap route while charging high prices and unable to accommodate those looking for truly healthy foods.
