Consistently gets my order wrong. I have been in a few times and they always mess up my order. Paying for a bagel I can't eat.

Bagels are my FAVORITE breakfast foods!! I was so excited to try a bagel spot in Idaho, coming from CA. The bagels here are so YUMMY. The staff are knowledgeable and they even let you sample the cream cheese if you're not sure what you want. They also have postcards here you can write and they'll send it on your behalf! I got the spicy boi and IT WAS FIRE !! It had a nice kick but the cream cheese did a good job at balancing it out.

I'm always looking for dope spots to grab breakfast at and Goldstein's was today's place. It's downtown which is convenient since I work down the road from this shop. Walking in, this place was buzzing! There were a good amount of patrons hanging out and enjoying their food. Employees working and stocking stuff. I liked that they have menus on the counter that you can grab and look at. After checking out all the goodies they offered, I decided on the hot honey and crispy ham bagel sammy. It was hard not to be overwhelmed by all the fun stuff they had on the counters and in the display cases. The bagels were beautifully displayed for you to pick from. All the bagels looked so good! They have a variety of smoked salmons, cream cheeses and baked goodies that you can check out. It was hard to not want to touch and look at everything. Of course the sticker display and candy basket was my favorite. I got my sammy ordered by the sweet gal and just hung out till it was ready. There are a lot of seating options and outdoor seating which will be nice when the weather gets nicer! A busy as it was inside, it had such a go with the flow, chill vibe to it. The hot honey and crispy ham was so good! And the pickles added a nice crunchy addition to the sammy. The honey was sweet, hot and sticky. The ham was thin and salty. It's honestly such a good combination of savory and sweet. The bagel soaked up all the goodness from the honey and was extra wet so make sure you have a good amount of napkins on you! I have evidence that I tore up a juicy bagel all over my sweatshirt. I had such a good experience here and my sammy was fantastic! I look forward to coming back and trying other sandwiches and smears that they offer here! Especially when it gets warm and I can chill outside.

Came in and got bagels Togo before heading to a hot spring. Goldstein's came recommended via tiktok and I see why! I got the Sam I am with the egg everything and it was everything I wanted in a bagel

I really like the atmosphere of this bagel shop, but the bagels are just ok in my opinion. The customer service was great and parking was easy to find on a Sunday!

We came in to try a bialy and it didn't disappoint. I got the lawn boi with no cream cheese on a bialy and it was delicious. We got the wrong sandwich first but they corrected quickly.

The bagels themselves are EXTREMELY good, but I just wasn't a fan of the Play it L.E.O. Something about the lox flavor with cooked salmon texture really threw me off. The servers are all extremely friendly and helpful, and even helped us sample the house made cream cheeses. The Szechuan Chili Crisp & Garlic Scallion cream cheeses are very solid choices. I would've gotten another bagel with just cream cheese, but the bagel sandwich filled me up enough for a late breakfast.

Just opened cream cheese container- not all the way filled.

Disappointing visit. We've been here a few times and it's always been a good experience, but this time was a bummer. We ordered 6 bagels and 2 cream cheeses to go and waited at least ten minutes to get our bag of bagels. Usually, a wait for bagel sandwiches wouldn't be an issue at all, but we sat there waiting for a bag of bagels to be packed while three employees stood behind the counter talking to each other. When we got home, we unpackaged the cream cheeses to find that they were not even filled to the top. Overall, good bagels but I'm not sure we'd be coming back.

Hyped up bagels for sure. Is it worth it? Depends on what you expect. A bagel and cream cheese runs about $5 each. It includes a nice amount of cream cheese on a toasted bagel. I ordered an egg onion bagel with lemon dill cream cheese plus a side of egg salad. Bagel was fresh. Crispy on the outside, soft inside, dense and dry but not bad. The onion flavor was understated but undeniable. The lemon dill cream cheese was perfected with salt, lemon, and dill whipped into the cream cheese. The egg salad was dry and disappointing in texture but taste was ok. They needed to add a tad more mayo. My friend ordered a 1/2 loaf of cinnamon bread which rang up at $14!!!!!! No, what? Overall its food seems good but not life changing. Pricey for sure but on par as far as for sandwich prices around town.

If you like bagels and are in the Boise area, you must stop at Goldsteins! We stopped here before heading out for the day and it was an amazing start of the day. I got the Fishman which was AMAZING. The lox was amazing and paired perfectly with the other ingredients.

Rueben on a garlic bagel for Mom
    Charles F.

My daughter and I love bagels. Our love affair started well before our trip to NY last year. In Meridian we've been patrons to Blue Sky, Freedom and Sarah's. She recently told me about Goldstein's so an impromptu visit was in order. I had my Mom in tow when pulled up to a parking spot right front. It's a beautiful bagel shop. The baskets with the bagels at eye level behind the counter grab your attention. What I noticed as well was a number of flavors not usually stocked like Egg, Black Salt, and Garlic The cream cheeses are in the case visible for the customers to review. There are even vegan cream cheeses that were offered. Yay! Break for a story time. I grew up in Carmel, California and was very fortunate to have the Bagel Bakery within Mongoose riding distance. With OP corduroy shorts and knee socks with sneakers. Rising my Mongoose bike to the Bagel Bakery several times a week was ritual and rite of passage. Kuperman's Delight with the veggies and the sprouts was my favorite I ordered a 1/2 dozen of bagels and a Rueben on a Garlic bagel for my Mom It did take some time, but her Rueben on garlic bagel was in her words, freaking delicious. The black salt bagel in the brown paper bag whispered to me like a siren from the sea. I succumbed to the call, and ripped off bite chunks and peacefully enjoyed my bagel bliss I would love to go back and sit down outside with a bagel and coffee or juice and watch the world go by. See you soon Goldstein's.

Are the bagels kettle boiled or steamed?

Goldstein's bagels are kettle boiled, but they're not the only kettle boiled bagels in Boise. I encourage you to read my detailed Yelp review before visiting this business.

We did have to have a small wait. I love the fact that they were busy! Nothing makes me happier than seeing a local business thrive! It was a little over 10 minutes of wait time. No problem, we chilled in the car till we got our text to come in. We were sat, got coffee and juice ordered and checked out the menu. We were both hungry so everything looked good. My husband decided on a stack of pancakes with chocolate chips and a side of biscuits and gravy. I got the Big boy omelet with Moe Joe's potatoes. Our server, I believe her name is Kendra, was super sweet! I have served her before when she came in and ate my at family's restaurant. She was fabulous as a guest and fabulous at taking care of us today. I had requested a fresh cup of half and half that wasn't used my multiple guests. I'm still bring careful with my new kidney. With no hesitation, she gladly gave me a fresh cup of half and for my coffee. I appreciate her kindness so much. Food came out and booooyyyyy did everything look amazing! My husband's pancakes were fluffy and had plenty of chocolate chips. The biscuits were covered with gravy. My omelet was massive and was also covered in gravy. I was ready to tear into them potatoes! They were nice and charry. I know this meal is about to hit! I don't think I said a word to my husband for 15 minutes. The food was so good! Nothing important needed to be talked about when the food was doing the talking for us. My omelet was stuffed with green peppers, onions and all the 3 meats that came with it. I love love love the gravy on top! The potatoes were crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle. The potatoes with gravy is top tier! Of course I tried my husband's pancakes.... so fluffy and sweet. The biscuits weren't crazy dense. I love that they were airy. I really had to hold back on the pancakes, I still had a whole omelet to work on. But them pancakes were the business! It's sad that this joint is clear across town. I would eat here every week if I could. Everything we had today was so good! Everything I had last time was good! The service is fantastic. I adore Memory and Peyton. Now I get to add Kendra to my list! One of the best breakfast joints in town, hands down! I'm so happy I got to start my birthday week at Moe Joe's! I look forward to coming back very soon.

I ordered an omelette that said on the menu that it came with gravy which I told the waitress that I didn't want. Well somehow the chef either didn't see it or decided to put it on anyway. Update: Joe, in response to your comment: Seems to me that maybe you shouldn't be in the restaurant business if you can't handle a little public criticism by your customers. I only posted what was our experience maybe others would find their change requests ignored of no significance but I'm on a specialized diet and that gravy was not acceptable! So stop being such a pansy and learn to use criticism to improve your product and services!

I came here for a late lunch around 2 pm after arriving in Boise. They weren't crowded at this point but business wasn't dead either. My waitress was very friendly. I had the French dip sandwich with a side of tomato basil soup. The sandwich was delicious and tasted homemade in the best way. The "meat" of the sandwich was seitan. I don't THINK it was a perfect meat replica (but I've never had a real French dip), but it was very flavourful. I loved the flavour and the thick cut of their bread, but it didn't have much structure and fell apart easily as I was eating which made the sandwich very messy. The tomato basil soup was a little different. It was slightly creamy but brothy and a little chunky - not a smooth puree. Again, it tasted great and was nice and light, which was a good contrast to the very rich sandwich. It was a little slow, especially considering they weren't that busy. I didn't really mind since I wasn't on a schedule, but this is something to be aware of - don't come here for a quick meal. Not cheap, but worth it for the quality.
