A very nice open air patio faces the calle. A great place to enjoy an authentic Mexican breakfast with many options. Full bar. They advertise the BEST BLOODY CEASAR & mine was excellent. Guitar player in the corner near the bar sings for your enjoyment while eating your desayuno. My simple 3 pancake breakfast was very tasty with flavorful fluffy cakes. Coffee included 65 pesos. A relaxing place to start the day. Service was casual yet very efficient. Area was clean & comfortable albeit the folding wooden chairs were less comfortable. Worth your time.

My brother is a regular at Cesare so he wanted to take me there during my visit to Puerto Vallarta. We arrived around 11am and were seated immediately. We opted to sit outside because his Great Dane accompanied us to the restaurant. I opted for the pancakes and fresh fruit with a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. The portion size is HUGE. My sister and I realized that we probably could have shared one breakfast. (She also ordered the pancakes) The food was good. The orange juice is fresh squeezed too. The pancakes were heavy so keep that in mind if you've got a big day of sightseeing planned. After we ate the owners came over to chat with us. He and his wife were enamored with the dog and also recognized my brother from previous visits. My brother mentioned to them how he'd told us to try the French toast next time because it's really good... About 5 minutes later the owner came back with a complimentary order of French toast!! We were all blown away by his gesture. The French toast was amazing! It was light, fluffy and topped with cinnamon. So good! The grapefruit juice, green juice (Hugo verde), multi grain toast and strawberry preserve is really good too. The prices are reasonable and the entire staff was pleasant and attentive. If you're in the area don't hesitate to stop in.

We walked downtime street with the purpose of finding a restaurant for desayuno. I was in the mood for huevos. And, there was Cesare with its beckoning shaded patio. Tracie had the chilaquiles with ranchero sauce. She was surprised when they came with strips of steak on top. She enjoyed it. I had the poblano omelet. Strips of poblano and some queso inside the omelet and a creamy poblano sauce on covering it. A squash blossom topped it. Exactly what I wanted and it was delicious. Service was quite good. Competent and attentive. + Wi-Fi. + Cooling fans on the outdoor patio. + Music. A singer (with his music box) who started out doing tunes from the 50s which I really enjoyed. He then shifted to the 70s. - Paper napkins. - Cheap Tramontina flatware. $241 for breakfast for 2, NOT including tip. $20 tip for the singer.

This Ernst little place is all about service. We had the pizza and a salad. The pizza is not typical american fare but a sauce with a little spice and a crust that is more bread like. Watch out as the salad was swimming in dressing which is my fault for not asking on the side or just a little. The star was the drinks. We each had a fruit drink which was large, fresh and yummy.

Nice patio and atmosphere. Good chips and salsa, delicious drinks, and great service. Nice place and vegetarian friendly. There was some live music in the evening. They serve breakfast too.

What a genuine little gem we found! My boo thang and I were souvenir shopping just a few blocks from our hotel when we saw a thunderstorm a-brewin! Before we walked half a block it was raining cats and dogs (as it's common in Puerto Vallarta). We simply could not make it back to the hotel without getting completely soaked so we took refugee at the nearest decent-looking place to drink the rain away. My only request was: Air Conditioning.... even though it was raining, it was still warm as heck. Did Cesare have air conditioning? NO! lol BUT the waiter brought us a nice big fan just for us and I was happy with that! We sat in the patio section (roofed) and it is just beautiful! We could watch the train pour down as we downed our Micheladas! Oh yes, life was good! The service was impeccable! Sure, maybe it was because we had a big fat "Tourist" sign on our foreheads but it was great! Our waiter was soooo accommodating, prompt, talkative...just awesome! When the rain and wind were picking up speed, he moved our entire table further back without us having to ask. Oh aaand he went out to the street to fetch us a taxi so we wouldn't get soaked. Aaaand he held a big umbrella for us while we got inside the taxi! Food-wise: Excellent! The molcajete we shared was super good and big enough for 2 people. The Micheladas hit the spot everytime! And the prices: OMG! My boyfriend and I EACH had about 3 Micheladas plus we shared a Molcajete (see picture) and we shared a cheesecake slice. Here in the US, you can expect to pay about $65-70 for all that, but we paid *drum roll* just under $24! I highly recommend this cozy little place!

Very nice place for breakfast or lunch. Pleasant outdoor front patio. Good omelettes and Mexican specialties. Live music from the gentlemen with a microphone and a boom box - crooning greatest hits from the 50's thru the 70's.

Excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent staff! Love it here! The molcajete is wonderful and the shots are big! Highly recommend.

Great breakfast. We chose to eat inside to escape road noise. The French toast and omelettes lived up to the reviews.

Having come here since I was 10 years old, this iconic taquería isn't just a local favorite--it's a timeless institution that continues to define what truly exceptional tacos should be. Since 1987, Pepe's has built a reputation that extends far beyond Puerto Vallarta, and one visit is all it takes to understand why. The star of the show--their legendary tacos al pastor--is nothing short of extraordinary. The pork is expertly marinated and cooked to perfection, resulting in meat that is incredibly juicy, tender, and bursting with deep, savory flavor. Each slice is carved with precision and layered onto warm tortillas, creating a perfect foundation for what comes next. What truly elevates these tacos is the balance of toppings. The sweetness of the pineapple and the sharpness of the fresh onions cut through the richness of the meat beautifully, enhancing every bite with contrast and complexity. It's a masterclass in simplicity done right--every ingredient playing its role to perfection. Beyond the food, the experience itself is just as memorable. The service is impressively fast and efficient, especially considering how popular this spot is, and there's an undeniable energy in the air that makes it feel alive at all hours. It's the kind of place you can count on for a late-night bite, where the atmosphere is casual, vibrant, and always welcoming. Pepe's Tacos isn't about reinvention or trend--it's about consistency, tradition, and delivering excellence time and time again. Decades later, it still holds its place as one of the best taco spots in Puerto Vallarta, and for good reason. Some things never change--and when they're this good, they absolutely shouldn't.

It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. We paired that with the prime rib tacos, it was a plate stacked with meat and 4 tortillas under it, more than we could eat. The seasoning was great, it was diced so small that it was easy to eat. Vegans are easy please. Give them clear marked options, even if there is one option, we are pleased. This place had a few clearly marked options plus the staff was fully aware and can provide suggestions. The only downside it is a cash only place. Guacamole and chips - fantastic. The guacamole freshly prepared and chips fresh fried. Amazing. The 3 types of vegan tacos we got were vegan chorizo, mushrooms and cactus (trying for the fist time). The vegan chorizo was the best, slightly spicy but not overly. The poblano peppers were predictable but very good. The onions with it were a good addition. Nicely seasoned and prepared. The cactus was good, we found that it was less seasoned. Just stir fried cactus. The star of all the three types tacos was the fresh blue corn tacos. We could have those everyday. The other superb tasting was the salsas and fresh toppings. 4 types of salsas, white onions and cilantro. The salsa were of varying different levels of heat and even the mildest salsa was the best. The virgin margarita and virgin mojito were great. Margarita being slightly better even though we love mint. Good atmosphere, clean surrounding and great service and vegan food - what more can one ask?
