First of all pipi's saved the night of my lovely ladies birthday party. The service is of the best I've had the food was absolutely amazing everyone in our group ate until they couldn't eat anymore but most importantly this place is extremely fun totally recommend. The table side Guac was amazing with great drinks and the food was perfect

WOW! We LOVE pipi's!! First off, id recommend making a reservation- it's pretty busy in here! We had a group of around 8, and called ahead, only having around an hour of so of a wait (but we waited to head there so it was great). This is an experience for every person joining- singing and dancing and all! If you do anything, I beg you to try their guacamole!! They make it right infront of you, and it is AMAZING!

We have been looking for Pipi's ever since an amazing experience 25 years ago. We don't think we found our "original," but this one is just fine. Saw some pretty tepid reviews about tourist trap etc, but we were chasing nostalgia. [I would agree the fajitas were not looking amazing or filling the dining room with sizzling aroma.] This is a dinks & appetizer review, since we have another favorite PV taco spot we were eating lunch at. The margaritas are Yuge! I had a frozen strawberry, my wife a skinny on the rocks. We both really enjoyed, hard not to when it's blazing hot outside and you can cool down with a big cold drink. I couldn't taste the alcohol, but felt it after my 2nd one on an empty stomach 100%. Service was very very good. From being seated, to taking drink orders, to refilling chips and salsa, staff was on point. The table side guacamole guy was all smiles and made a mean guac, extra spicy please & thank you. We appreciated the AC and so did many others as it grew to almost a full house in the lower dining room during lunch rush.

Came here on a recommendation from family friends. It was fantastic. Come with an appetite. Definitely get the margaritas. Staff were attentive and food came out quick.

We've passed by this restaurant several times and finally decided to give it a try. It didn't disappoint...from food to service. The restaurant was very busy but we were quickly seated and drink order taken. The menu seems to have something for everyone but we settled on a combo to share along with some margaritas. Complimentary chips and salsa was a surprise - great flavor with the salsa and freshly made chips for the perfect combo. Our meal was plenty for 2 with a burrito, enchilada, tamale and taco. We will definitely return. One note - the restaurant was extremely loud!

We were told when you vacation in PV, Pipi's is a must visit! It didn't let us down. The margaritas are a staple - and they are LARGE. They are also know for their fajitas, so if that is your thing you'd also enjoy a meal here. Me? Yeah I targeted the sour cream chicken enchiladas and asked them to spice it up as always! They obliged by making mine red and it had the desired heat level. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meal and voted it the best Mexican that we have had among the handful that were tried. The atmosphere is also generally fun! Live music and a bustling full space. The service is impeccable. I don't think they will allow you to run out of chips and salsa. Guacamole made to spice level at your table. All staples of great Mexican restaurants in my book!

5 food and service! Very clean restaurant and fun atmosphere. We ordered the wet burritos and guacamole. Both were delicious. I will be back next time I'm in town.

A tourist attraction on many levels. Huge selection of traditional tequila drinks served in LARGE (takes 2 hands to hold) glasses. A menu consisting of yummy favorites such as flaming fajitas, chimichangas and burritos with numerous fillings. HUGE portions. Be prepared to take some of your food home. Friendly service. Credit cards. The kind of place, when the music is playing: you stand near your table and dance. Fun but noisy and not good for conversations. Try it. Well established business that understands customer service.

This is our second time at Pipi's, Puerto Vallarta, on Dia de los Muertos weekend. We love the huge blended fruit margaritas, and the yummy also huge platters of food, all for a very reasonable price. I chose to order the marinated skirt steak. To my surprise, it was accompanied by a Chile Relleno, a chicken enchilada, cheese quesadillas, tomato rice, refried beans, a large scoop of guacamole, and pico de gallo! To say the least, a good portion of it came home. On this special weekend, there is also live mariachi music. But if you want to get away from that, there's a way to do that, too. They have an extra dining room that is slightly away from the main room. Service is excellent. The manager kept checking that we were good, as well as the waiters. Definitely make a reservation because there is a line out the door, especially especially on this popular weekend.

We went to Pipi's as part of a tour of Puerto Vallarta. We had a good time and a good meal. The restaurant was clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and entertaining. Since it was Halloween they were dressed up which was fun. The food servings were very big and I wished I had split the fajita plate.

We loved Pipi's so much that we ended up coming here 3 times during our 10 day stay in Puerto Vallarta. We always got the table-side guacamole and split a chimichanga since they are huge. All of the food coming out looked wonderful, especially the fajitas that they flame up with tequila. I also recommend the homemade flan, so delicious. Great people working here and very friendly service. It is very open, can get loud, but extremely fun. We were lucky enough to be there when the Mariachi Band was playing. Great times! Outstanding drinks. I had the Cadillac margarita and it didn't disappoint. It can get a bit crowded, but they do take reservations. If not, no worries. The service is so great that they keep things moving along, but you're never rushed. We plan to visit PV in a few months and Pipi's will always be on our must to do list.

There are places that simply serve food--and then there are places that become part of your story…read more Pepe's Tacos is exactly that for me. Having come here since I was 10 years old, this iconic taquería isn't just a local favorite--it's a timeless institution that continues to define what truly exceptional tacos should be. Since 1987, Pepe's has built a reputation that extends far beyond Puerto Vallarta, and one visit is all it takes to understand why. The star of the show--their legendary tacos al pastor--is nothing short of extraordinary. The pork is expertly marinated and cooked to perfection, resulting in meat that is incredibly juicy, tender, and bursting with deep, savory flavor. Each slice is carved with precision and layered onto warm tortillas, creating a perfect foundation for what comes next. What truly elevates these tacos is the balance of toppings. The sweetness of the pineapple and the sharpness of the fresh onions cut through the richness of the meat beautifully, enhancing every bite with contrast and complexity. It's a masterclass in simplicity done right--every ingredient playing its role to perfection. Beyond the food, the experience itself is just as memorable. The service is impressively fast and efficient, especially considering how popular this spot is, and there's an undeniable energy in the air that makes it feel alive at all hours. It's the kind of place you can count on for a late-night bite, where the atmosphere is casual, vibrant, and always welcoming. Pepe's Tacos isn't about reinvention or trend--it's about consistency, tradition, and delivering excellence time and time again. Decades later, it still holds its place as one of the best taco spots in Puerto Vallarta, and for good reason. Some things never change--and when they're this good, they absolutely shouldn't.

Out front, the trompo spins over charcoal fire, hand turned, on display to the street. The man at the blade is a performer, part craftsman, part showman. He hones his knife between razor thin shavings of al pastor, then in a reflexive flourish nips the pineapple crowning the meat, sending a sliver flying only to catch it with a tortilla. It is theater, but it is also instinct. Inside, the crowd looks like the United Nations. A tour group from India next to a Dutch family with half a dozen kids in tow, the Canadians eye the Americans with deserved suspicion, and a few locals whose plates are piled high while tourists settle for modest portions. It is the natural order of things, and nobody complains. The charcoal scent in the meat makes clear this is al pastor's intended preparation. I have never had the pleasure of eating from a coal fired trompo before, and it is instantly apparent that this is the way it was meant to be. Someday, somehow, I will rig one of these up, because I need this in my life. Pepe's is not just a taco shop. It is a master class in tradition, theater, and flavor, with a dining room that feels like the world gathered around one spit.

While the wait can be a bit unpredictable, it's usually not too long, especially during the summer. However, if you visit in the winter, it can take a while. The food here is reasonably priced and the portions are generous. The only thing that confuses me is the fruit water of the day. The cups are incredibly small, and for 30 pesos, I expected more. I've noticed that some tables have their water refilled, while others have been changed. I'm not sure if this is a policy or just a coincidence. The service is okay, but nothing extraordinary. They have a limited number of tables and don't have air conditioning, so it can get quite hot inside and outside. However, you're here to eat and go, so don't expect a sit-down experience. One important thing to note is that they only accept cash. So, make sure to bring some pesos with you.

It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. The ribeye had so much fat that we had to pick through it just to eat it. The al pastor was very average - I've had much better at plenty of other taco spots. The biggest disappointment was the chorizo. It wasn't traditional chorizo at all; it looked and tasted more like chopped-up hot dogs. We barely touched it because it wasn't what we ordered expecting, and it just wasn't good. The presentation also wasn't appealing. The meat was simply piled on top of two tortillas, making everything messy and difficult to eat. They were also pretty stingy with the grilled jalapeños. The salsas didn't do the food any favors either. None of them really stood out, and the green guacamole salsa actually tasted like it had gone bad, so we stopped eating it. Service was attentive, but almost too attentive. Staff kept coming by every few minutes to ask if we were finished or if we needed anything. While I appreciate good service, it made us feel like we were being rushed through our meal instead of being able to enjoy it at our own pace. Overall, I don't understand the high ratings based on our experience. With so many amazing taco spots in Puerto Vallarta, this one didn't come close to meeting the hype. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.
