    Tofu in bean sauce
    Monal J.

Hospitality- 9/10. Our server was very quick, gave us exceptional suggestions. But was also very quick at removing dishes. Hardly had any time to think if we wanted more. Lol. Spicy Schezwan veg noodles - tasted good. Had a nice sauce at the bottom giving the noodles a nice flavour. You don't really need a gravy with these Veg spring rolls - These have been so far the best I have had in Toronto. Must try. The plum sauce that came with it was one of a kind as well Tofu in bean sauce - tofu was chewy but the sauce was absolutely amazing Crispy ginger chicken - these tasted awesome. Must try. Our server suggested it and glad that she did. The portions were good and you will not at all regret your visit. Topped with fortune cookies, this meal made my day.

This is the worst Chinese food I have tasted. Ordered: Vegetable Lo Mein -- it was soggy and tasteless. Black Bean Ho Fun -- Again tasteless Tons of noodles very little beef and very few black beans. Chicken with Broccoli-- Broccoli was good but little flavour and chicken tasted strange. Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls -- Oily on the outside, mush on the inside. I understand that these are challenging times but this food was not cheap. It seems that no effort was put in to make it edible. Cannot recommend this garbage at all. We feel ripped off

This is a combo plate, with fried rice, pork, and vegetables.

The food tastes as good as it looked. The atmosphere was comfortable as it gets. :) The service is warm and absolutely will be back soon.

Kung Po chicken lunch special (takeout)

The most noticeable things in this restaurant are: 1) the strange straw roof over the bar/cashier that brushes against your head if you're tall 2) the chefs in the back talking very loudly in Cantonese in the kitchen The staff here were very polite when I went. The lunch specials are priced very well at $7.95 including rice, soup, spring roll and fortune cookie. The food was good. The wonton soup was satisfying but only had 2 wontons. the rice was fresh and the meat was not soggy with minimal amount of breading. I would come here again. They have no wifi.

Black bean beef noodle. noodles were overdone and had no structural integrity to it. The veg were also over cooked and overly soft.

I really didn't want to post this review, but this is the worst American Chinese food takeout I've ever had. I'm a 3 minute walk from the restaurant and made sure to get there on time and get home quickly so the food would not sit and get cold. We ordered two noodle dishes, black bean beef noodles and a vegetable low meen and both of them were over cooked and soggy. The noodles were so over cooked it lost all its structural integrity. Ordered chicken balls and it was basically 98% stale bread that tasted like oil and 2% chicken. We also order Chinese brocolli which was also overcooked and mushy and came sitting in a pool of oil and water.

C'est Bon, I wanted to like you, I really did but you had to go and break my heart ... The food here really surprised me. But it wasn't the food that will prevent me from ever returning, its the recent experience. I have been here twice, the first time we had amazing service from a very nice guy, he was very friendly and talkative. That would have been my first visit and I found C'est Bon from their coupon in the entertainment book. Which was for a free entree, I made sure before ordering that if I ordered rice that it would not be the free entree as rice is just a side if you ask me. The waiter insured us that they will remove the middle entree, which sure enough they did. So we decided to go back after a couple weeks and there was different people working, a woman who I assume may have been the owner and a guy. The woman seemed to be ignoring people and eventually just disappeared and left altogether. Anyway, we had another coupon, ordered the exact same food and when the bill came, the rice was the one that was removed.. Then we were told that's the way it is etc etc, basically he was trying to tell us that we were liars. That's a good way to keep customers from returning, the right thing would have been to fix it but he was very rude about the whole thing. Why be surprised when you don't get a tip is beyond me. Based on this experience, I don't care how amazing the food is or isn't , I will never go back.

I'm definitely coming back here!…read more We ordered the Tapioca dumplings, the beef messemen curry, and the mango and purple sticky rice. Wow! It was all so tasty. The tapioca dumplings are unlike anything I've tasted before. They serve it with a side of lettuce, mint and peanuts. I liked the dumplings better without the sides they served! The lettuce and other add ons dim the flavors of the dumplings. So I prefer just eating the dumplings straight on. The Messemen curry was so flavorful and the beef was so tender! I'm a big fan. If you're a fan of Thai curries then you'll definitely like this! The Mango purple sticky rice dessert was also really tasty! It had a tasty coconut sorbet and it all went really well together. Service was good, food came out quickly, vibes were good. No complaints here!

Unfortunately, the day took an unexpected turn when I had to go to the hospital, and for a while I thought I wouldn't make it at all. As a testament to both the kindness of my friends and the exceptional staff at Lao Lao, they were able to accommodate us even though I arrived nearly two hours late on a busy Saturday evening. Originally, our table was only reserved until 8:00 p.m.--the exact time I finally arrived. Thankfully, with the help of our incredible server, Savanna N., everything worked out. Her professionalism, warmth, and willingness to help truly made the evening possible. More than anything, I hoped the wait would be worthwhile for my friends, who were visiting for the first time. I'm happy to say they absolutely loved it--especially the outstanding hospitality and customer service. A huge thank you to Savanna and the entire team for making us feel so welcome. As for the food, every dish was delicious. Nothing disappointed. The papaya salad was such a hit that we ordered it twice. The Beef Massaman Curry, Crispy Lao Spiced Chips, Banana Leaf Steamed Fish, and the seasonal Vermicelli Noodle in Chicken Coconut Red Curry were all exceptional. Although it had been about a year since my last visit, I was delighted to see that Lao Lao remains consistently excellent in its food, quality, and service. Bravo!

We decided to order just a couple main dishes and they were also amazing. The flavors from the curry noodles were very rich and creamy and absolutely delicious. The drunken noodles had a perfect blend of spices just like Hometown and we will definitely go back to try this and the rest of the stuff on the menu again. The service was amazing, we were greeted by the host with a warm welcome, and the waiter was also very kind. It is a true authentic Thai restaurant and the food and flavors are expected and reflect from the culture. Ambience is just like the islands of why the title of the name is there and the decorations are amazing. Let's talk about dessert, the pandan toast was out of this world. Top two with the coconut ice cream and the decorations and the display was already worth $1 million photo. The flavor was not overwhelmingly sweet but Rich at the same time. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness and delicious food and we will definitely be back soon to try the rest of the menu.

I was quite impressed with it... probably rate it slightly higher than Pai and Thai Barn Na. Food (4.5/5) - nice menu with lots of variety and overall good food quality. - Khao Neow Gaeng - this is one of their signature dishes and was fantastic! Stir fried pineapple curry with coconut curry sticky rice. What a great mix of items with great flavour, served in a half pineapple. - Khao Soi - a nice flavourful mix with a tasty curry broth. - Moo Tod - fried pork belly served with a lime sauce. This one was just OK imo... bit on the dry side. - Pandam Toast with Coconut Ice Cream - a really tasty dessert with a toasted custard piece and creamy ice cream. Service (4.25/5) - this place gets busy but they are fairly well staffed and keep an eye on the tables to make sure people are moving through quickly. Maybe can appear a bit standoffish for that reason but not rude at all. Atmosphere (4.25/5) - it has two levels for dining and also a small patio out front. Not as elaborate or upscale an interior as Pai but functional. Overall (4.4/5) - A definite repeat to try some of the other dishes. Be aware that it can get very busy so book with reservations.

This time we ended up at Khao San Road, which was busy from the get go. We got there a couple minutes before opening at 5pm, and before you knew it, there was a line waiting behind us. Inside was quite spacious between tables, and they were playing throwback tracks. We ordered a mango salad to share, which was okay but not my favourite. It got really sour near the end but next time I would try the papaya salad instead. For my personal main, I got the Pad Thai with no spice. It was still very flavourful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. One thing I appreciate is that the portion size is huge!! For me, this could've easily been 2, if not 3 meals. The Thai iced tea was also really good but on the sweeter side. A good restaurant to try if you're coming from out of town, wouldn't be disappointed.
