The True Cod Fish & Chips were also fried perfectly. The special of the day menu was the Miso Black Cod, which was a great appetizer! The black cod was delicate and so good! I also had the Portland Maine Lobster Roll, which satiated my lobster roll craving. The Shrimp Cocktail was plump and succulent! The restaurant is cute and quaint with an open-window area! It's a great spot for a girls' night out or a date night. I'd definitely be coming back when I'm in the Old Town Pasadena!

Dried bread and dipping sauces were brought while we perused the menu. Our food came quick. First was the chicken soup we ordered as an appetizer. It was delicious! Warning - the red salsa side dish is super hot. We tested it first, added a small splash, and loved it. Next was a sliced beef and marinated onion sandwich. It was well filled and really tasty, our favorite of the night. The green salsa that comes with it is a perfect compliment - savory and spicy like a molé, but not too hot. We will order this again. Then came the beef heart, not a dish for everyone, but a personal favorite. Seasoned with a great dry rub and cooked on wood skewers, it was on par with the best yakitori I have ever had. What made it even better, however, were the sides. The hominy was perfectly chewy and seasoned. Mixed with the green salad, the potato chunks, and some of the green and white dipping sauces, well, it was an excellent compliment to the dense beefiness of the roasted heart chunks. OTOH, the salsa that comes with the beef heart, while full of chopped scallions and such, was far too sour for my taste. It was like pure lime juice. I tasted it and set it aside, only adding a few bits into my mix of sides. The final nice touch was the price. Total for three dishes was $40 before tax and tip. We will be back. The closest public parking lot is a couple blocks to the north, but we found a metered spot right out front. I didn't like that the meter needed a credit card or app, but that's the way things are going.

The portions were quite generous making the food great for sharing. They also provide complimentary toasted bread and great dipping sauces. What I tried: - Fried yucca - a classic and great way to start the meal - Arroz chaufa de mariscos - shrimp, squid, mussels and fried rice. This was yummy and easily large enough to share. However, the rice was a bit too much on the salty side - Tallarin saltado de carne - sirloin beef strips with spaghetti and sautéed with onions and tomatoes. So delicious, but I wish they were a bit more generous with the amount of beef given the price - Causa de Cameron acevichada - smashed potatoes with shrimp ceviche. Only available on Fridays/weekends. Beautiful presentation and tasted as good as it looked Overall a great spot to try Peruvian food in a comfortable, casual setting. Street parking or nearby public lots.

We tried four different paellas: Seafood, Seafood Noodle, Squid Ink, and the daily special (which I've sadly forgotten). I genuinely can't pick a favorite...they were all so incredible. I've had some pretty bad experiences with overly salty paella, even in Spain (!!!), so I was relieved Dos Besos wasn't that. Great selection of tapas as well. We basically ordered everything. The standouts for me were the Galician octopus, mushrooms in truffle cream, and the cured meats. But holy, everything was so good. I am not a huge fan of red wine but the sangria was fruity and went down smoothly. Desserts were also fantastic, I especially loved the torrijas. The chef, who's from Barcelona, was incredibly kind and came out personally to offer complimentary pan con tomate with our endless jamón orders. Incredible experience and I would love to come back every day if I had the financial means to.

We loved it when we had the owners, husband and wife on the floor. In our recent visit, the owners weren't there. No one came to check on us or refilled our water not at least till the very end of our dinner because they wanted to see if we wanted to order dessert. Now, we watched them bus other tables out in the patio with water and frequent visits. There were only a few tables occupied at the time so the restaurant wasn't busy and definitely has the capacity to serve. I will not be coming back again sadly. Customer service is what makes or breaks a restaurant for me.

Out of the appetizers, the sprouts was the one that surprised me the most. The bacon and seasoning complement the baked Brussels sprouts perfectly. The calamari was whatever, I felt it was too battery for my personal liking but my friend loved it. The oysters were smaller than what I usually get from other restaurant but it still hit the spot. The entree was amazing and the jambalaya has quite a kick to it even when I ordered it at medium heat. There was plenty of shrimp, mussels, sausages, and protein in the pasta and rice dish. Parking in the plaza was atrocious because it is a busy plaza with a gym and other amazing restaurants and quick bites. Can't wait to stop by again.

The environment is family-friendly, with several tables occupied by kids and families. Just be aware that the music and overall noise level are fairly loud. Service was attentive and they checked up on us regularly. We ordered 2 dozen oysters ($1.50 each), the fish and chips ($11.50), mussels and clams ($10.50), and a beer. The oysters were fresh, mostly clean, and came with the usual accompaniments. My only minor complaint is that small seafood forks would have been nice to have available. The mussels and clams were the disappointment of the meal. While the broth itself was flavorful, the portion was downright sad. We received only 4 mussels and 4 clams total, and the bowl felt almost empty. The standout was definitely the fish and chips. Dare I say the best fish and chips I've ever had? The batter was well-seasoned without being overly salty. The fish was crispy, hot, flaky, and surprisingly not too greasy. The fries were also excellent, with a crunchy exterior and fluffy, mashed potato-like interior. I would absolutely order this again. Overall, for happy hour, come for the fresh oysters and fish and chips. Skip the embarrassingly skimpy bowl of mussels and clams.
