I called in an order for pick-up and the food was ready within 20 minutes. It was near closing time so it was not too crowded or loud. The food portions were generous, especially the eggplant garlic sauce. The food was tasty, not pictured is the house fried rice which included eggs, scallion, shrimp and beef, it was a little oily as expected but very tasty!

CF Cheng has been a regular spot due to its convenient location and their delicious food. It's a small place however there are ample tables and kept clean. Located in a shopping plaza so there's plenty of parking. Shrimp in lobster sauce is a favorite dish just in general so I typically order it as a seafood rice plate lunch special ($12) or à la carte ($15) with a side of steamed rice ($2). Their shrimp in lobster sauce is delicious!!! Try it if you like shrimp. I've also tried Mongolian beef or Szechuan beef which are very tasty as well. They also have several dim sum dishes which are very good like har gow, siu mei, etc. Service is very good. The staff has always been very nice and courteous. Will definitely be back again soon.

Friend delivered takeout and it was delicious! She indicated it didn't take long and was ready incredibly quickly. 5/5 beef chow fun. I've been looking for favorite for a while and this will def be my new go-to in the area. The noodles were thin compared to other thick and clumpy ones I've had recently. It was nice to have thinner noodles and balanced bites. Meat was tender. The onions and green onions were well balanced also and not overwhelming. 5/5 garlic green beans had huge garlic chunks. Add some chili oil it and it was perfect. This will be my new go-to for beef chow fun!

I have been craving Chinese food and we always come back to CF Cheng. We have been coming here for years. No one else makes the hand shredded chicken with jelly fish like they do! It's so good and tasty. We also got the deep fried cod with salty egg yolk. There is plenty of salty egg yolk but we wish it was more on the fish rather than on the bottom. The salt and pepper pork chop is typical like any other restaurant.

I called over the phone. I was able to ask the difference between the regular wonton. And the war wonton I know able to get my explanation pretty easily. The second one obviously comes with more comes with bok choy, which is really good and it comes with some meats and some shrimp I could go without the shrimp. I'm not a real big fan of the pork I don't know why however it could be beef. I'm just not sure. I really love the wontons. I could actually eat a whole thing of the wonton by itself. I was really impressed with the packaging so that way it wasn't sitting there in the juices I was able to pull it out and put it into my bowl. The wontons 5/5 The flu has taken over my house and this was the best thing to eat while sick

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Over a decade ago CF Cheng was the best authentic Chinese restaurant in town. I am not sure when the change of ownership took place but the kitchen has suffered greatly. The food is no longer perfectly seasoned in fact often it lacks flavor at all. The beef chow fun gravy style with greens is my go to dish. The last 3-4 times I have ordered it there is so little sauce the noodles are still white ! There are still some good things here. The pork and shrimp wonton soup is still the best wonton in Sacramento but in general the food is bland or under seasoned. If you want ok food CF Cheng can provide it.

One of the top Chinese places in Natomas. It's a small restaurant with very basic ambience and doesn't look inviting but that shouldn't stop you from trying this place the service and food makes up for what masks in ambience. We ordered chicken fried rice, crispy chicken wings, chicken buns, kung pao chicken, sesame balls, and the sautéed pea sprouts. Everything was yummy, but the kung pao chicken was the best! I only wish that they wud add a little less oil. Don't miss out on good Chinese spot at Natomas!

    Dry beef brocolli

I got beef brocolli, chicken wings , and sweet and sour pork . I get the economy probably is the cause of the adjustments to the amount of beef, but the sauce, really. I tried mixing it and it cannot even coat half of the brocolli. The chicken wings is now half the size but my issue is, it is close to being burnt and the oil used is old. Very disappointed. Used to like this place, no more!!

In a nutshell; Pretty good solid chinese food The PF changs nearby seems to only be doing take out now so CF Cheng it is. Not quite sure if the owners know each other but the naming convention makes it seem so. Parking isn't a problem as it is in a good sized lot with other businesses. Not the biggest place but still has a decent number of tables. Food is filling and for sure worth the amount or price that accompanies any of the menu choices. Servers were accommodating. Overall isn't anything entirely unique but if you're looking for chinese food that's for sure to be chinese comfort food then this is a place to consider.

CF or PF? They sounded alike. I don't know anything about the Chinese food in Sacramento, but, I gave them a try on a recent business trip. They didn't disappoint. I ordered a seafood pan fried noodle and a hand sheared chicken with jellyfish by phone. The seafood pan fried noodles came with shrimp, squid and bok choy. It had plenty of sauce. The hand sheared chicken came with juicy chicken pieces atop a bed of jellyfish and garnished with green onions. Both dishes made for a good dinner. Service was good. The guy taking my order on the phone spoke both Chinese and English. They food was ready when I arrived. It was a good place. I think they were better than the other PF place for my taste buds.

Is this place still heavily dependent on to-go orders? and if so, is the wait time still an hour to an hour and a half to get your food whether its to-go or dine-in?

They do a lot of togo business because they only have a handful of tables. You are better off ordering togo if you don't want to wait.

Is this place open for dine in?

    Yes

Do they have curbside pickup? if so, i'd order VERY frequently.

I order on the phone then walk inside to pick it up on the counter. They're masked up and have hand sanitizers on the table.

It really is quite an experience. I highly recommend you come try it for yourselves. Thank you fellow Yelpers for helping us find this place.

The AI said it was top rated, and we had never been. By 7pm the dining room was busy, many of the parties Asian We ordered a pot of tea, crispy pork, potstickers, roast duck, honey bbq pork and the house noodle dish Yue Huang Chow Fun which had shrimp and chicken. THE PROS: Nice sit down restaurant decor. Large tables and cushy upholstered chairs. Not a strip mall cubicle. They have actually been awarded Michelin Honors three times. Portions were good sized, and flavors were nice. THE CONS: Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed by everything. All of the dishes arrived just warm. Staff never checked on us - not once - until we asked for some to-go boxes. They have two large tvs in the dining room, showing a loop of the restaurant I'm currently sitting in. The music in the dining area must have been on "Slow Girl Ballad" station on Spotify's free tier- as we honestly listed to a 10 min Samsung commercial in between songs - and not at a low volume. BOTTOM LINE: Maybe we were the exception- as there were clearly enough patrons to show it is a popular - but nothing about our experience made us want to come again. I guess we didn't see what the Michelin people saw. PRICE: $80

That said, the food more than made up for it. Our favorite dish by far was the Spicy Calamari with Basil. It's something I'd absolutely come back for--the calamari was tender with a great texture, and the sweet, savory flavors paired perfectly with everything else we ordered. The Garlic Chili Green Beans were another standout. They had great flavor and still retained a nice crunch instead of being overly soft, giving them the perfect stir-fried texture. The Vegetable Chow Fun (with beef added) was decent but a little dry for my taste, so it's probably not something I'd order again. By the end of the meal we were completely stuffed, but we couldn't resist trying the banana cream pie. It looked huge when it arrived, and we honestly didn't think we'd finish it--but it was so delicious that we ended up eating the whole thing. Definitely don't skip dessert! I also appreciated that when I asked for hot sauce, they brought out several different options to try, including what seemed like a garlic chili sauce, chili crisp, hot mustard, and sweet and sour sauce. It was a fun touch that let us customize each bite. The restaurant also has a lot of history and character. We walked in casually without realizing it was a more upscale sit-down restaurant, but it ended up being one of the highlights of our day. If you go, the Spicy Calamari with Basil and the banana cream pie are absolute must-orders!

My goal is to come here during dine downtown week in January to try that menu since I hear it's worth it. For parking, it's either street parking or you can do valet parking in the garage right next door. There is no self parking in the garage. Street parking is self parking. The restaurant itself is like a long, large hallway. When you walk in, your greeted by the host desk. Then you walk towards the back and pass a bunch of booths, tables and the bar area to the right. It's built like a Craftsman style layout. When I was here recently, it was for a friend's birthday and there was a group of 10+ of us. They only do family style food so our group was split into 2 tables and each table ordered their own entrees and meals to eat family style. I was at a table of perks I had just met that night, but we had no issues sharing plates. This may not be for everyone, do you can still order your own entrees, but there won't be much variety if you don't have a lot of people. The food was good. We ordered wallet shrimp, Buddha's delight, the curry noodles/chow mein, garlic green beans and chicken chow mein. All three good was good. I would say it's above average and comparable to Din Tai Fung, but a bit cheaper. I liked the walnut shrimp, garlic green beans and buddhas delight. Service was decent. It could've been better, but could've been worse. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. I'll be back when dine downtown rolls around.

We ate the rice rolls right away and then had leftover green beans and beef and mushrooms for lunch today. The green beans were fresh and had a great garlic flavor, without it being too much. The Beef and Mushrooms was great, the beef was tender and flavorful and the mushrooms soaked up all the sauce. There were also green beans in this dish, which was a perfect addition. For starters, parking is very limited, as it is a strip mall. There is some street parking. By the time we ordered, it was getting increasingly busy. We had only 4 people in our party, so they didn't initially provide us with the menu for larger family set meals, so we had to ask for it. We went for set A which serves 4-6 people. This set included the following: Soup of the day: Simple vegetable soup with some pork/beef in it. Peking spare ribs: Deep fried spare ribs with a sweet sort of sauce. This was a bit saucier than my liking. Not my favorite dish. Empress chicken (half): This was done very well, cooked perfectly. Came with ginger scallion oil. Pan fried sole: Classic, freshly deep fried, with a soy sauce based sauce. Mixed mushroom beef: Beef was tender, dish was seasoned well. Had a good balance of protein and vegetables. Seasonal vegetables and garlic: Simple, but delicious and a generous amount of vegetables. We also ordered mushroom with salted egg yolk from the Chef's Specials menu and it was delicious! This dish was very generous in size. There were pieces of fried beech (or seafood) mushroom in salted egg yolk batter. Seemed like there was at least two grocery store containers worth of mushrooms, if you've ever seen them in the Asian grocery store. This was almost like a snack, and went so well with white rice itself. They offered a complimentary dessert but it was very plain. It was straight up herbal/grass jelly with a sweet syrup. Service was standard for an Asian restaurant. The restaurant is pretty big compared to what you might see on the outside. The restaurant was acceptably clean. We sat by the window, and although it was covered, the sun was basically still shining on us, so it was really warm sitting there. Overall, I would highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Chinese food.
