My kid's condo in-unit, very old, compact stacked washer dryer was being vented to the bathroom via a long hose. So silly. It finally has seen better days and so he needed a new unit. After doing research online on Forbes and New York Times reviews and looking at Costcos offerings, he and I decided on Bosch. Our Bosch dishwasher has been amazing and CG appliances highly recommended the Bosch washer dryer stacked 500 Series which they actually use in the San Carlos store since it's ventless. Very advanced. WiFi enabled which I have learned to love. Renee was so helpful again. She helped us get our last appliance there last time - Bosch 800 dishwasher. Never looked back! She is so knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. She also tried to get some rebates from Bosch directly for us but a lot of stuff except for washer dryers are discounted currently. Regardless, great service and my son is very comfortable with everything. Great value in our eyes although Bosch is definitely on the higher end but totally worth it. Buyer beware. Purchased a theromdor oven from CG. When you cook grease gets into the glass panels and it cannot be cleaned unless you remove the door and the glass panels to clean. The cost $250 each time. Clearly there is a design flaw as every time you cook grease gets in between the panels. CG offered no solution apart from having it professionally cleaned every time. Contacted thermodor And they said that the oven still functions so there is nothing they can do. The door was removed to cleaned and shattered everywhere. How on earth can you have a venting system that dirties the glass and is impossible to clean without spending a fortune every time. Stay away from this product line and CG appliances. read more

My new range, purchased from CG Appliance San Carlos, was delivered and installed yesterday, March 10. Selecting the range was a terrific experience with Renee who made suggestions about which models would meet my needs. She grasped right away what I wanted and even did some research with CG Daly City to be certain a particular feature was on the range I selected. The delivery and installation were done by Carlos and Christian and they were on time and very organized. They actually left my condo cleaner (I have white carpeting.) than when they arrived because, after removing the old range, they cleaned the area where the new range was installed. Carlos and Christian coordinated their actions so the installation went well. This was the 2nd appliance I've purchased at CG and buying from these appliance experts is going to be my practice in the future. It's lonely to walk around the appliance section in the box store by myself, with no staff around to answer questions. CG prices are comparable and the CG staff is a huge help. This review is long overdue. I got my built in KitchenAid refrigerator from CG Appliance about 6 months ago. Renee Warren is such a gem and really helped me out. The KitchenAid built in fridge was one of the few that would fit into my space without modifications and at the price point I wanted. She helped me get it in a timely manner and at a great price too. Renee is very personable and easy to talk to. She provides excellent customer. I was really worried about getting such a large fridge into my house because I'm a bit particular about my walls, floors, and cabinets, but she got me the best installers, shout out to Juan and Enrique, who were just wonderful. This is our second major appliance purchased from CG. The combination of personal service, knowledgable, experienced staff and really quality appliances makes CG the only place I plan to purchase appliances in the future! Our 22 year old Kenmore side-by-side fridge suddenly stopped working and Renee helped us choose the best fit for us, and did some juggling so we could get an in stock unit of the model. Then Ernie made some schedule changes so we could get a next-day delivery! The whole team really helped us out and saved us from having to lose a lot of food that we had temporarily stored in ice chests and borrowed fridges. I did a lot of online research, read Wirecutter's detailed analysis, checked out some fridges at Costco, and there was no comparison. This was not the cheapest unit we could find, but I think my cost over the life of the appliance will be comparable. And if anything goes wrong, you can tell from the reviews that getting good, responsive service is increasingly difficult, and I just don't have to worry about that with CG. read more

We were searching for a washer/dryer went into this location and had the worst customer service ever. The lady at the desk by the door barely looked up from her phone and asked what we were looking for? I said washer and dryer for today, She said we don't have many but they are over there in the corner. I told her which brands and she said yeah over there and continued on her phone as we started to walk she asked a man at a desk about two away from her if he could help us, he said no and continued to work. ( no other customer in store) we walked to corner I told my husband let's just leave nobody here wants to help us and we proceeded to leave then the lady says is that car outside? I said yes? Her whole tune changed and she started talking to us. Way to discriminate against a customer. We left bad for them we need a whole kitchen and laundry room. Left a very bad impression on me. CG Appliance (CGA) has a wide range of products available. But their ordering and delivery leaves much to be desired. Ordered a side by side refrigerator online and was told 10 days. Several weeks later it came in. Fortunately our old one still chugged along. Contacting the store via email was tedious since they were never proactive about letting us know the various order delays. Next came delivery. They correctly installed the new unit but left the front door open for hours in 85F heat after repeatedly asking them to shut doors as they entered and exited. Common sense? No. Delivery Communication was poor and the overuse of cologne from one of the delivery guys forced me to leave my home. If you can smell the cologne before you open the front door, it's bad. Refrigerator score 5/5, ordering 3/5, delivery 3/5. Good luck, hope you don't need the appliance right now! read more

I'm not sure why they get such good reviews. We ordered from them based on the five stars. They installed the washer improperly. They had to have someone else come over and redo it. We made the mistake of ordering from them again. They failed again. They did not show up on the delivery date. They did not give us an updated ETA. They certainly had no problem taking our money though. If you're honest with yourself, you know that no one gets all five stars. This place has a 5 star average. Something is fishy here. Our refrigerator door fell off Thursday and we needed a quick replacement. CG had a great selection and Rod was very helpful. It was a total mess with massive lead times. Through it all, Renee remained super patient and on top of things. She's really organized and a kind soul all around. Life saving! My family and I recently moved into a new home which has a very awkward laundry closet. We ordered a washer and dryer from a big box retailer and it didn't fit. They wouldn't/couldn't help me figure out what would fit and what my options looked like. I decided to call CG Appliance and met Renee. Renee introduced me to someone who might be able to help us reconfigure our closet. He confirmed that it would be a big job best suited for a contractor. I called Renee back and she jumped into action and gave me all my options. She looked at my pictures, measurements and diagrams. If you are female and shopping solo... beware. I was "helped" by a salesperson named Jeff. I have never experienced such rude behavior from sales staff/customer service. He cut me off several times when I was trying to explain the size constraints I was looking for in a refrigerator. And it wasn't with an, "Excuse me...let me point out something" tone of voice. But what prompted me to write this review is when Jeff had the gall to ask me, "Are you married?" and followed it with "Are you handy with a measuring tape?" The implication being that as a woman, I wouldn't know how to use a measuring tape to measure the dimensions of a kitchen cabinet...and I better go ask my "handy" husband. It's appalling to find this kind of sexist attitude in 2020...I definitely will not be spending my money at a store that employs sales staff who feel like they can speak to customers in such a demeaning manner. Please educate your staff in how to engage with customers. read more

I called up CG Appliance for comparison shopping for a new dishwasher (my friend had recommended a competitior - Davies Appliances in RwC if you were wondering ;-) and I had made up my mind to buy from Davies at that point). What had me hooked me and changed my mind was the transparency with which Jeff Stern talked about the different dishwashers, the time he spent to explain the pros and cons and his willingness to "work out the right deal for me". My comparison shopping turned into an instant buy and when my husband and I went down to CG Appliances to take a look at the dishwasher and swipe our credit card - we just loved the way he took the time to walk us thro' the features again, gave us the truth on extended warranties and patiently talked to us about a Laundry Set (that he knew we wouldn't buy for a while!). Since it was July, they were running a free haul-away and install for Bosch and he set up my free installation as I completed the buying process. Within a week an installation specialist from CG Appliances, Tito, comes over to my house - installs the new dishwasher, shows me how to use it and cleans my dishwasher and the kitchen area before leaving - I am in awe of their customer service, the value for money and their attention to detail during the buying and installation process! Renee gave us an excellent and through orientation using a floor sample of Thermador dishwasher we had selected, which led to us buying the new Thermador dishwasher. She was very professional, extremely knowledgeable, reasonable, responsible and caring. The dishwasher was installed and we had trouble running the appliance. Within hours she scheduled a technician to come over and we learned that we were using the wrong detergent. Recently, we found a loos screw that had fallen off the mounting surface, again she sent her technician within hours when I sent her a text message asking for help. If you want to do everything you can to make sure you're appliance delivery and installation goes well, then you want to go with CG Appliance. I needed a new dryer, but my dryer installation is a funky bottom vented setup. Jeanette at CG Appliance was easy to work with and thorough. She double and triple checked the order to ensure the right installation kit was part of the order. She didn't push me to order more than I needed either. I brought up myself that I'd like to also replace the washer and she quickly found the model I identified. The team that came to do the installation was detail oriented and thorough. They did a better job installing the new dryer than was done even for the old dryer. They made sure everything was leveled and got the machines installed as flush to each other as possible in a tight space. We had a fantastic experience dealing with Jeff. Our 10+ year old refrigerator died overnight and we were assuming it needed to be replaced. We are limited on space given the placement of the fridge and surrounding cabinetry, but Jeff quickly began walking us through the models that would work, the features of each and the relative strengths of the brands. I'm sure this place gets plenty of people coming in who are remodeling their kitchens and looking to replace all their appliances to the tune of $10k+, but even though we were likely to only spend $2-3k it felt like we still got lots of attention from Jeff. He was finishing up by printing out spec sheets for each and writing up pricing so that we could go home and think things over when my wife thought to ask whether he could recommend a reliable repair person to try out. Despite the possibility that it could end up costing him a sale, Jeff not only gave us the contact info for a person he recommended, but quickly called and left him a voicemail to expect our call. We were able to get the repair person to come by that same afternoon, and he was able to replace the fried control board and get our fridge back up and running! Overall, Jeff went above and beyond, and if we do end up needing to replace the fridge or even bite the bullet on a kitchen remodel in a few years we'll definitely be going back to CG Appliance. read more

Went to the store in San Carlos having researched and selected a dishwasher that the CG Appliance website said they had in stock. I asked for the specific model. Sales persons there seems to be bored and sitting behind large monitors (you, the customer, are looking into the back of the monitor!). They took several minutes to determine that they didn't have the model in stock, even though their website says it was in stock. They were not able to show me what models they do have in stock, and seemed completely uninterested in actually making a sale. read more

We love CG Appliances! George Russ helped us put together an appliance package with things that we never thought we would've been able to afford, but he made it work and fit in our budget. He also was the only appliance person we talked to who was willing to help us track down a non-standard depth wine-fridge. (He found one 18-inches deep, and then when we realized we didn't actually need the specialized size, he didn't bat an eye.) But while CG's selection and customer service are exemplary, where they really shine is with installation and post-install service. Their installers took incredible care not to hurt any of our newly installed floors/walls, and made sure everything was perfectly lined up and leveled. We purchased a built-in fridge and it can be hard to get the cabinet doors just right, but they did it. When I emailed the company to express our appreciation for the white-glove installation service, I learned that the installers had both worked for them for over six years. Definitely notable - you have experts doing the work! A few weeks after our appliances were installed, we prepared to move back into our house and were cleaning things. We noticed a small, barely noticeable scratch/chip in our new cooktop. We emailed George and within a few hours he had scheduled us to have it replaced and reinstalled, free of charge. The level of decency and commitment to customer care astounded us. Lots of people say they care about their customers, but with CG it felt genuine. We aren't big yelp reviewers, but this felt like an experience we wanted to share. It's a rarity these days to find someone who wants to work with you and do right by you, not just sell you something. You couldn't find a better sales person than Renee. During this difficult time, trying to find a white French Door fridge having to be within the specific size constraints. Looked on line searched local appliance stores. No luck or wait A Few MONTHS. Our 13yr old LG was on its last cool down. She found the only FD fridge in White in whole Bay Area. I was lucky I got help from Renee when I walked in to replace my 20+ year old dishwasher. She is knowledgeable, professional and very easy to talk to so I can ask any issues I have in mind. My issue happened after the successful installation (by the way, the purchase, delivery and installation was so smooth and right on time, which is rare). I knew the case was not something Renee was handling since her role as a sale person ended at the installation, but she was the only person I had to call. Basically, I said Help Me. She went outside of her role and gave me all the information on how to get to help and what kind of help I needed. Within 2 days, everything was resolved. Be aware that there is no service of any kind if your appliance fails, as mine did (within the warranty period). It's all on you. I got to do everything including waiting on hold, waiting weeks for the problem to be resolved, and doing without my appliance with no recompense. It's no different than going to the Home Depot, so at least do some comparison shopping and know that you are not buying anything but the appliance itself. read more
