I scheduled an appointment with them online and received an email confirmation. When the 8am time came and went, I called the number to confirm that someone was on the way. I gave the receptionist all of my information (again -- they should have had it recorded in their system). She said she'd check with her manager and get back to me. Three hours after the appointment time I still hadn't heard anything from them. ---Update: Boris had an issue with his appointment scheduling service which he intends to fix. Very scan like service provider. No clear price of repair cost. Only a very high and flat diagnosis price is given. Even tho it will applies as a credit and deducted from the final repair cost, it does not sound legit. If they are asking a ridiculous amount of repair cost, the diagnosis fee is just free money for them. read more

I hired this company to install an appliance for my tenant. I spoke with Boris, who gave me a quote which I accepted. He promised he would contact my tenant to schedule the installation. That was two months ago. The appliance has still not been installed. Boris has completely stopped responding to my messages. First, "Comercial Home Products" appears to be a front for "Delta High End Appliances" in San Francisco. Sadly, the only "high end" is the price you'll pay for service. The water valve on our Sub-Zero refrigerator ($30 part) failed and "Commercial Home Products" quoted $280 to put the part in (you can watch someone do this in 5 min on a YouTube video). I would have paid that except they added a whopping $1125 to move the fridge in and out to turn off the supply valve behind the fridge. Total quote was $2000 dollars for a $30 part, 1/2 hour of labor (including diagnosis) and 10 minutes of fussing the unit in and out of the cabinetry. I bought the part on Amazon and did the job myself. read more

I have a 1997 Wolfe Range...one of the first year Wolfe made a residential range. Since Wolfe was bought by SubZero it is nearly impossible to find someone in the East Bay to repair it. I finally called Cherins Appliance where I bought it in '97 and when they suggested Box Appliance and I told them Box won't work on the older models, they sent me to Boris. I had to persuade him that a trip to the East Bay wouldn't be too hard at 7 am, and he came, did a complete overhaul of the stovetop that was clicking away everytime I used it and it is now good for another 20 years...enshallah! He may even be thinking of coming regularly to the East Bay, if he has enough work over here. read more

When would our awesome, 15 year-old workhorse - a Sub-Zero refrigerator - finally decide to have an issue? While my spouse was in Asia on a business trip. Naturally! But this story has a happy ending: Boris came to my rescue! He even noticed that the problem with the refrigerator - a torn seal - had also happened to the freezer, but I just hadn't seen it yet! In no time at all, our refrigerator was fixed, my freezer was better than ever AND he replaced a burnt out light bulb in the refrigerator for free! He was right on time, his prices were quite reasonable and he was very knowledgeable. He even gave me some helpful tips on how to keep my refrigerator happy in the future: no cut lemons in the refrigerator! They oxidize the parts. I hope not to need Boris' help again any time soon, but I'd highly recommend him and wouldn't hesitate to call him in the future. read more

Asked them to repair ice maker in my fridge; it took them 3 separate trips to diagnose the water line (each of which left the freezer unusable for a day). An attempt to fix the water line failed. Had to hire a plumber to patch things up. One star for consistently showing up on time. read more

I have to say I was somewhat disappointed in the service and communication I received from this outfit. Boris came out a few days after I called and he ordered a replacement assembly from Subzero which was shipped to my house. After about a week I called him to find out when he was coming to install the part. He apologized for not getting back to me, and came out the following week and installed the replacement compressor or some system like that. He restarted the unit and said the temperature was dropping and would be cold the next day. Unfortunately the unit only got cool, and the following week my refrigerator drawer registered 90 degrees and smelled faintly of ozone. I called him on a Tuesday to inform him of this, and he told me turn the unit on (I had turned it off) and he would call the next day to determine what was probably the problem. He did not call, and I called back on Thursday and got the answering machine. I left a message imploring him to call me. I called on the following Monday and his answering machine was full so I could not leave a message. I called again the next day and was able to speak to him. He then came out at the end of that week and fixed the problem and the unit is now working fine. read more

They sent a guy out who bid 2500 to fix my Lynx BBQ. He told me it was one of the worst he'd ever seen, he told me they were the only ones in the area that could do it. He tried to sell me a 450 cover for it that he said was absolutely waterproof. My impression is that he took a look at me, (blond female), my house and what I owned and made the decision that I was a good target and and not very bright. Not sure if that was the case but it was my take away from the encounter. My landscaper listed to the whole conversation and was blown away by what I was being told. He almost stepped in but relaxed when I told this guy that I was going to get a second opinion....which i did I called Gourmet Appliance also certified in Lynx. They are located in Half Moon Bay. They've worked on my inside stuff for years and I didn't know they did BBQs but they do. They've always stood by their work and give fair quotes. The total came in with parts and labor under 800. They also told me while the new covers were great and very pretty they were not waterproof. Shop around, these guys do not appear to be on the up and up. read more

He didn't try to sell me something I didn't need, and in fact, he didn't even charge for the service call----he re-set the panel, and we now will wait and see if the warning light was activated by Thanksgiving guests (or us) not completely closing the freezer by accident. I got these guys from the Sub Zero factory site. They came immediately when I called- a guy was in the area. Needed parts. $130 for the quick diagnosis. After a few weeks (the technician went on vacation, although he never mentioned it.) After several calls on my part we finally got a time scheduled- 9AM, he showed at 11 and not even the same guy who went on vacation. He was here half an hour to swap the evaporator and charged a $500 flat rate! $630 is robbery. His response was: wasn't I told? No. The original guy was totally engrossed in a private cell call- They got one star because I don't know how to give them none. read more

We recently replaced our icemaker after thirteen years (Sub Zero brand). We called upon Boris to take care of it.  It was easy to make an appointment with him.  He called prior to appointment to confirm, he showed up on time, and was very efficient.  It was determined that after attempting to repair a part that we needed a new machine...not an inexpensive solution, but necessary if we were to have ice.  After installing it, Boris made a point to contact us to ensure that all was well.  All was not well but Boris came back several times to address the issue and made sure that the icemaker worked as the manufacturer indicated.  Our experience with Boris has been pleasant and we would call him for all our European appliance needs.  We have Miele dishwashers, washing machines/dryers and Subzero refrigeration and feel confident that he will take care of us seamlessly.  I Highly recommend him. read more

Okay, its your lucky day. I've had a bunch of problems with my antique sub zero fridge. After spending thousands over the past few years to fix the fridge side, i found Boris. He completely replaced the compressor that was wrongfully installed a few years ago with real sub zero parts, replaced the freon with the original gas that is not available in the US anymore, and some other things I forgot about for $2200 and my fridge is like brand new. My setting is only on 4 and I'm feeling very good about myself. This is the final fix your sub zero will need. read more

Boris is a hoot. Tells you exactly what you should have bought, instead of the POS that you did buy. I'll be switching brands on a few of my appliances int the future for sure. In the meantime, Boris did a quick fix on the igniter for our Blue Star range. Customer service with him is great-- answers his phone right away, shows up on time-- even calls you on his way over. Had the part in his truck already, so it was a one-visit repair. I'll be having him back soon to fix some other appliances that we've been neglecting. In early June, 2021, I called Commercial Home Products, who indicated that they serviced sub zero refrigerators, in order to repair our sub zero ice maker. The technician, Boris, came and said we needed to use his plumber at Expert Plumbing to add a new water valve at the front of our refrigerator, as he couldn't move our refrigerator. This was probably unnecessary, however, we complied and paid Expert Plumbing over $200. We waited for three weeks, and after many calls, Boris returned and installed an ice maker which was not a sub zero, and it failed to make ice. We paid Commercial Home Products &1,195.32 for a non functional ice maker. We called and texted repeatedly, but Boris, norany other technician responded. Finally, in the last week of August, 2021, we called another company and they have installed a sub zero ice maker which is working. I would caution everyone to avoid Commercial Home Products. read more

We'd first had another outfit come out to quote a repair for our Subzero but the price was really high for the amount of time and parts required. Boris was willing to come out the day we called him for a second opinion. He quickly diagnosed the issue (the other folks monkeyed around for an hour and never really quite figured it out, exactly), and took the time to show us signs on the inside (corroded ceramic) and bottom of the fridge (oxidized tubing) to corroborate his findings. He also took the time discuss the anatomy of our unit with us and ultimately recommended against wasting money on a repair for an old unit like ours with an essentially un-fixable problem (thinning insulation) - better to simply wait until we're ready to buy a new unit and use a workaround solution instead, namely some absorbent material on our stone floor to absorb any excess moisture. But then we moved to the garage where we'd first spotted a leak underneath the floor above where our Subzero sits. There he reviewed other options that might be causing a leak one level below, rather than our fridge. Because he didn't furnish us a repair estimate, he didn't even charge us for the visit, a very generous touch after such a thorough explanation, and one which, given our current financial situation, we gratefully accepted. I was very impressed with the service I received from Boris. I called Commercial Home Products to deal with a problem we have been having with our commercial Wolf stove. The thermostat needed to be replace and we really couldn't find a service repairman who could do the job well. We tried one person who we were not at all impressed with. So we tried Boris to see if he could repair our stove. Boris is professional and very knowledgable about commercial Wolf stoves. He straight forward and knows what he is doing. Boris not only replace the thermostat on our Wolf stove, but he took the initiative to made many adjustments on the stove door, panels, and knobs that should have been done many years ago. It's now back and functions perfectly well. We also had asked Boris to install the lights in our Sub-Zero refrigerator. This installation needed a service person from Sub-Zero and we just hadn't gotten it. So when we learned that Boris also works on Sub-Zero equipment, we gladly asked him to service the refrigerator as well. He installed the lights with great care and precision.
