Cute place! Decor is still pretty simple but it's a nice place to sit and hangout on hot days. We got 2 parfaits, which is enough for 3 people. The matcha ice cream is intense but still very creamy. The gateau/cake is really dense and it works well in this. The flakes add a nice crunch in both parfaits. The yuzu one is seasonal and so refreshing. Highly recommend.
More than 4*, but not enough to round up to 5*. The experience was solid and I'd recommend it, but I wouldn't put it in the "you absolutely have to try them" category. Hubs & I went with a college friend of ours, and providentially it was quiet enough when we arrived that we could take our time with the touchscreen menu and leaf back and forth through all the options without worrying that we were holding up a line behind us; with three kiosks people were moving through without wait. That was not the case a bit later when we were picking up our desserts to sit at the last available table (squeezing three into a 2-top); there was a queue at the kiosks by then and people perching on every available stool, step, and bench by the time we finished our cones. Hubs got a matcha twist cone, I a cone with red bean and mochi, and our friend a matcha red bean latte with mocha. And I think we all thought what we ordered was the best of the three.
This place reminds me of the green tea parfait I love in Kyoto. However it is very big. Located in the corner building on Broadway but the entrance is on 32nd Street deep. Almost like going inside a building. You order from any of the 3 kiosks and choose your order and pay. Get your ticket and your order will be announced. Most places go sit is communal with some tables around for 2. I ordered the Matcha Warabimochi Parfait and it was delicious like being in Kyoto. It had the green tea jelly which I enjoyed in Japan and all the other items. They also offered green tea drinks. The parfait is layers of jelly, soft serve ice cream, mochi, green tea syrup whipped cream with green tea syrup on top and also green tea ice cream. Next best thing to treat yourself close to being in Japan

Love this place! We ordered one parfait for the three of us it was made so quickly, so tasty and unique. The bran cereal they use for the crunch and to balance the flavors is genius. Plenty of soft serve and the matcha tastes great, mochi and red bean, all together it's so much fun to eat and each thing tastes nice on its own. The interior is a very modern and a little cold, so it doesn't seem like the sort of place that beckons you in and asks you to stay a while. However, the cafe is incredibly spacious and had ample seating around mid-day. There are three kiosks to order from at the front of the shop where you can easily browse the menu and edit your order. I opted for an iced, unsweetened matcha latte. After placing your order, you receive a number and wait for it to pick it up at the counter. After a few minutes, my order was ready. The latte was great without any sweetener, really letting the flavor of the matcha shine through. Although I'm no expert, the flavor, color, and consistency of the matcha all indicated to me that it was made with a good quality powder. It seems Nana's specializes in green tea, so I'd totally stop here for a more authentic experience than getting matcha from places that focus on coffee or are simply trendy matcha spots. Aside from lattes, there are many parfait and soft serve options with a matcha or hojicha bases, so hopefully I'll have the opportunity to come back and try their other offerings!
Came in for dessert and rest on a rainy day. Order on the app and was lucky to find a table. The Hojicha ice cream is good but the mochi was too gelatinous to my liking and I wished the middle layer was Hojicha flavored as well instead of vanilla. Overall good flavor and store has plenty of seating!
After a spicy dinner in koreatown, nothing beats a nice cool refreshing drink, and ice cream with to with it makes it even better. My second time coming to this place and it was packed with people, but understandable since it is Valentine's Day. The service was quick though (around 5-10mins wait. There are also plenty of seating areas. The tea was very flavorful and I'm starting to prefer hojicha over regular matcha. Recommend giving this place a try.
This is a late review. We went here during fall and tried their matcha cheesecake and their matcha soft serve. We both shared a matcha latte as well. The matcha latte was good. The desserts, however, were brilliant. If you like matcha and prefer strong matcha desserts, this place will not disappoint. The soft serve was very very good. The cheesecake was better than we imagined. We also combined the two together - and found it delicious! This place is always busy and seating can be tight.
3.5 Finally went to Nana's. On a really cold day but it was ok bec. there was a lot of space/seating and was warm inside. Can order at one of 2 kiosks or at the counter. Ordered the Matcha soft serve with gateau chocolate in a waffle cone. Around $10. Shared with my husband and it was enough. Soft serve is creamy matcha and was good (though I prefer stronger matcha flavor). The gateau chocolate was very dense and dry, not really flavorful so would have skipped that. Restroom available.

As a Gen Z person, I feel like K-Town is always a staple on where people aged from 14-30 years old always ends up at the end of the day especially with the proximity to Penn. Anyways this is one of the socially nicest dessert places here to bring friends to. I think this place has expanded my love for black sesame flavors and I always get anything matcha and black sesame flavored here! Can't go wrong with any of the menu items with those flavors Service is relatively quick! You just put your number down on the kiosk and they text you when it's ready and it's no more than 7 minutes majority of the times im here. Ambiance is also great here especially when you bring friends although the seating is a little limited although maybe the popularity of this spot is just a testament to how nice this place is. read more

the ice cream was wayyy too sweet and honestly it was hard for me to finish. waffle cone was nothing special. it looks really cute and that's the only redeeming factor cuz it also cost $10.50 my friend got the hojicha and that was somehow worse than the ice cream it tasted like dirt water. i'm not the biggest fan of tea usually but i've had better iced teas that i have made at home lol. if you can get seating the vibes are pretty good. i will say i have never tried the matcha/matcha desserts here so it's hard to anti-rec this place, but i definitely would not go for the strawberry soft serve or hojicha read more

Came in with a friend after having lunch. The last time I came in here, it was so packed. So I didn't try anything. This time, I am glad that there were some empty seats for us to sit after ordering our items on the kiosk. I believe there are 3 kiosks machines for you to order from. We got cold hojicha latte with oat milk and matcha mochi parfait with matcha basque, red beans paste and matcha ice cream. I can taste the roasted tea, it is light yet nutty, mellow yet slightly smokey. It tastes refreshing after a brisk walk to quench the thirst. The portion of the parfait was a bit bigger than I thought. There were some cereal pieces in the middle layer so it gave our taste buds a break from the sweetness. The matcha basque was tough to bite on, not sure if it is supposed to be like that. There were also matcha jelly pieces toward the bottom of the parfait. My friend ordered coffee latte and she said it was one of the good ones she had (she is from another country, came here to visit). I recommend to share the parfait if you don't want to get sweetness overload or if you are not a big eater! There is a restroom for customers to use, however, you need to enter a code to enter. The green tea is a main event. The quality of the tea captivates the palate. Theres a light earthy finish for your post dinner dessert. My daughter enjoy a vanilla ice cream as well and there was no shame to her game. We all were happy that evening. read more

Finally got to try Nana's Green Tea which is originally a chain from Tokyo. We got a matcha and hojicha parfait to share and we all agreed that the matcha ice cream was better than the hojicha. I loved that there were so many different components to the parfaits but felt that the warabimochi was a bit stale. There's a self kiosk which makes ordering easy and it's nice and spacious inside. I would come back to try their drinks. read more

Japanese café @ K town, NYC Japanese café specializing in green tea, Macha drinks, soft serve/parfait and desserts. The place was clean and spacious with a nice relaxing jazz music. I ordered green ujicha which was very strong. I had to ask for a hot water to refill the rather small brewer. There are three kiosks to order and you will receive a text message in your smartphone or annouce when your order is ready for a pick up. I would like to try their green tea soft ice-cream on a next visit. read more

Stopped here on two different occasions. I first tried the black sesame mocha parfait ($12.45). There wasn't much to it so I was a bit disappointed. On my second visit they just opened so it was empty! Yuzu black tea frappe, a seasonal drink, ($8.95). It was good. Overall didn't love so I likely wouldn't rush back. read more

We really love this cafe !!! It's easy to just order on the machine and then take a seat. I am obsessed with their matcha frappes! Haven't had anything else but my body just wants the frappes. Can't wait to try the other drinks next visit. Worth a visit. It's very busy here but we have been lucky to get a seat every time. read more
Big open corner of the building with glass facade, lots of seating, and minimal interaction with the server other than when they had your order ready - order on the tablets to the side, pick up from the staff at the counter. Lots of machta-flavored drinks and ice cream - mild, not too strong. Ice cream was mild and smooth. Good size, wish they had more mochi and red bean on mine. They obviously use very high quality ingredients. This is a place you can enjoy without fear of having corners cut. The popularity of matcha and hojicha means cafes will serve these drinks without any knowledge or respect for the ingredients. This place is much better than this. Each sip was packed full of robust hojicha flavor. I also appreciated that it was not too sweet at all, though at first my jelly latte had no jelly in it. read more
We had dessert here, and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious parfait! I'm not a big matcha fan, my friend enjoys it tho so we got 2 different parfaits.. one with matcha and one with the sesame powder (Horjicha). Self serve - kiosk ordering. Once you're done, grab seats and wait for your number to be called. Careful holding the tray bc the parfait comes in a glass cup... and there's a slight step to the lower seating area. I like the horjicha one better... both parfait comes with mochi, red beans... and ice cream. Feels like the matcha one was a tad bit bitter for my taste. My friend liked it tho - so for all matcha fans - this is for you. Pretty good! The size of the cafe is big. There are many seating options even while being packed. It does get loud with how many people are inside. The portion size is large which is great considering the price of the menu items, and your order comes out very quickly. I would say within 5 mins of ordering, even during a weekend night. I'm not the most informed when it comes to matcha but I enjoyed the ice cream. read more

Pretty popular even at 10pm on a Friday night. Tables are a free for all and you order on tablets. Your order number is on a screen so you know when to pick it up. Definitely crowded but the parfaits were delicious. Not too sweet and lots of tasty toppings. The mochi was perfect and the flavors were authentic. The black tea yuzu with black tea jelly was very refreshing and well executed. Matcha was solid and no complaints. 1 parfait was good for 2 people. Very trendy building and glass walls. read more

This place is my favorite dessert place! I love the matcha bingsu and they have the best toppings. The service is good it is mainly using the kiosk and picking up the dessert in the front. The ambience is good and there's always a spot and there's a lot of seatings. Most of the time it is packed ! I recommend this place! read more

I feel like matcha has been all the craze recently, and you can really tell by the crowd in Nana's green tea. I feel like this is very reminiscent of a Matcha cafe maiko, but they're more drink centered here. The matcha flavor is really good, and they don't over sweeten their drinks which is nice. We also tried the yuzu black tea frappe and it was so refreshing, with a strong yuzu flavor. But I wasn't the biggest fan of the yuzu chunks. read more

I came back to visit Nana's Green Tea with my friends on Tuesday about 7:00pm. It was pretty crowded, but we were able to grab a table. We ordered at one of the 3 kiosks. After ordering, my number was called and I went to the counter to pick up my order in less than 10 minutes of putting in my order. I ordered the Matcha Float with Mochi ($7.45) this time. The Matcha ice cream and mochi were very yummy. I really enjoyed it. Nana's Green Tea has great matcha and it really tastes genuine. For the restroom, you need to enter the code on your receipt so make sure you keep your receipt handy. read more
Amazing! I had it first in Seattle so I was so ecstatic to learn that they opened up a location in NYC. This time, I got the Matcha Parfait and the Matcha soft serve. Both are giant portions and definitely share-able between two people each. The matcha soft serve was smooth and creamy but the matcha taste was not as strong as the scoop of matcha that was in the parfait. The parfait had mochi, corn flake, red bean paste, whipped cream(?), and matcha jelly. The red bean and matcha jelly was amazing, I would eat a tub of that alone! I went Friday around 8:30pm and it was PACKED. Once 9:30pm rolled around, the space opened up a lot. read more
This is the first time I tried the hojicha latte and it did not disappoint. The hojicha was bold and balanced out the milk well. It was nutty and smooth. I was pretty full from a meal but wanted to try something so I went with a hojicha latte. It was kinda disappointing tbh, the flavor was mediocre and not very strong. The drink also left my tongue feeling gross over time- it's like when you get a drink from somewhere and it's made with a powder or creamer or something like that. Perhaps their parfaits are heavenly idk, but for drinks it was a no for me. read more
Was craving warabimochi unfortunately the mochi in the parfait did not really satisfy that. I felt like it was a little too dry and felt a bit brittle. But really enjoyed everything else in it. The matcha ice cream was not bitter and probably on the sweeter side, really liked the cereal and the matcha jelly at the bottom that added nice texture to the parfait. read more
