Compared to the NYC locations, the drinks seemed different. I forgot that there was an option of adding sweetener to my drink because it wasn't on the menu and the person taking my order did not ask. The proportion of milk to matcha in the ice latte was off. The store itself had little to no table space so it's definitely a grab-and-go type place. I'm surprised to see less than 5 star reviews for this place. Since it opened I've been coming in 2-3x a week. I'm obsessed with the Iced Matcha Chai with Macadamia milk . Ppl complaining about it being "Hipster".. Really?!? You are on Abbot Kinney soooooooo... that's hipster enough. Also who cares! The matcha is delicious, the drinks are unique,the ppl are awesome, and the decor is sick AF. IMO it's just a great vibe and feel, which fits perfectly in with the beach scene here in Venice. One issue though, my friend and I ordered the exact same thing, she just happened to order first. When it was my turn to order my drink came out to be double the price as hers. I asked the man at the register about it and he fixed it, but although the price has been reduced it was still more expensive. Decided I'd stop by and try the new matcha cafe on Abbot Kinney this morning - and wow! You walk in and this place is BEAUTIFUL. Pink & green everything. The staff was some of the nicest people I've met. I would come back just to have conversations with them. I believe their names were Brandon and Kelly. Cha cha matcha made me want to cha cha my way out of there. This is strike two for my negative experience here at this cafe. This restaurant serves better as an Instagram photography opportunity rather than an adequate establishment to seek refreshments. They care more about their appearance rather than customer service and the workers will make you feel unwelcome and like a pest. I don't blame the employees for their horrible attitude, I blame the management for allowing this hostility towards paying customers. BEWARE! If you have a nut allergy and order Oat milk they will not tell you they mix their oat milk with cashew milk. It's NOT common to mix oat milk and cashew yet they will say "not like I'm saying it's your fault but it was listed on the menu..." I ordered a iced matcha latte (which is something I typically order so I didn't need to look at the menu). When a customer asks for oat milk and it's not made aware to the customer that at Cha Cha Matcha they mix their oat with cashew, it's just irresponsible. "hey just so you're aware we mix our oat with cashew - just making sure you noticed that" Nut allergies are very common. Thankfully I do not go into Anaphylactic shock. I rarely encounter issues like this unless the person working isn't communicating what is in the items they are serving. Its just not the best feeling when you get an allergic reaction and are violently throwing up for 24 hours on an empty stomach. Be careful when ordering from this place! read more

The cutest and most hip matcha shop that I've been to! They're matcha latte was delicious and satisfying. Seems like they have a variety of food, drinks, and milk to pair with the drinks. Price seemed reasonable for what you can usually get for a matcha latte. There is a rather large 'island' that is located in the middle of the cafe which I think could be utilized as more space so there can be seating in here. CHA CHA MATCHA. This spot is for sure on the pricy side!! You're essentially paying for high quality milk with some tea with the latte. However, milk here is really awesome, they use locally sourced milk for their almond hemp and cashew-oat. my favorite is the macadamia milk they use! So sweet - tastes like cereal milk. This is for sure one of those places that you reserve for guests when you're trying to show off your California lifestyle. I wouldn't come here every day but when I do, it's an awesome place to hang out (no wifi tho). There's plenty of open windows, pink decor and the corner of Abbott Kinney and California is a historic part of Los Ángeles. Celeb hunting is good too - Lana del Rey, Kardashian clan, and JBiebz are just some of the A-listers that love cha cha. If your into fun and quirky clothing, they also have some awesome merchandise for sale! As far as drinks go, you can't go wrong with the MATCHA LEMONADE :) I'd have to say that and the pink drink are my favorites for cooling off this summers. Lattes are ok too if you want milk tea, but an ICED MATCHA is the most traditional and healthy way to consume matcha. The purple drink also boasts 25 mg of CBD - another great choice (I like this one with whole milk when i'm have a sugar tooth). Food here is sparse and I unfortunately can't say any good things about the sandwich or avocado toast (more like guacamole toast). On that note, their pastries such as the vegan chocolate chip cookie and croissants are amazing. The croissants are from Gjusta, a local bakery and Venice favorite. The cookies and banana bread literally melt in your mouth. The banana bread is amazing and more like a muffin top - I prefer the original versus matcha flavored. Also, stay away from the donuts. The contrasting hours on Yelp and Google are "both wrong," according to the rude Asian cashier, closing time depends on foot traffic on any given day. I walked in to their open doors at 5:55. The chairs were stacked and they were mopping the floor. We were ignored for an uncomfortable minute until I went up to the cashier and asked if they are still open until 8 as described on Google. Upon hearing it was a slow day, I was completely understanding and still interested in buying a drink up until the 3rd time the cashier passive-aggressively reminded me they were closing soon. I apologized and explained that everything sounded so good and I had travelled an hour to study there so I needed a moment to recalibrate. After a moment of reasoning sparked by her sudden absence it became clear to me that our business was clearly unwanted. I will not be returning and no aesthetic is worth this. This place was awesome! I heard about this place from social media and saw how blooming it was in NYC and I was excited to find out they have made a location in LA! First off, the area is filled with great stores and also free parking (which is huge in la) so you can easily spend a bunch of time in this area!
