We've been coming here for years! Always get our favorite items: For apps we switch off between Gyoza & Takoyaki. Gyoza is cooked perfectly and the sauce is tasty, it's an easy app for people who are getting to know Japanese cuisine. And for the more adventurous person try their takoyaki, the bonito flakes are mesmerizing to look at when it comes out. It's like they're beckoning you to eat them quickly lol. For dinner we typically get the Spicy Miso Ramen to share (without bean sprouts bc we're not fans lol) and two orders of the Katsu-Don. If you can't handle spicy go for the regular Miso Ramen, you can't help but to pick up the bowl and slurp up the broth at the end, it's ok everyone does it! The Katsu-Don is a breaded fried pork cutlet with scrambled eggs, onions, and a simmering soy sauce that gets poured over the rice (mouth is watering just describing it) it is a MUST HAVE TO GET when you come here. We literally bought one for table that we didn't know bc they were contemplating it and I said pass the word along about how amazing this place is! Unlike most restaurants in the Wellington area! A hidden gem that can't be seen from the road. It's next to fedex and jimmy johns if you're having trouble finding it. Went there on a Friday night. It's a rather small place and was full, but we got seated within 5 mins as a couple was leaving. We had the gyoza to start, very delicious. I had the tonkotsu spicy ramen - very delicious broth and not too spicy. My husband had the original ramen with more pork and another hard boiled egg in it - the original is the only one that comes with more vegetables than any of the others., so make sure to add some stuff to yours if you want to make it more filling. The specials looked awesome and wish I'd tried the Kimchi Ramen and Jellyfish special! Hope they have it next time! They also sell some Japanese bean buns and candies. I felt like I was at a very serious meeting and trying to crack a smile from the waitress was impossible. Even with such service I still tipped the standard 15% since waiting tables ain't easy. -Other tips: I didn't see any sushi on the menu contrary to yelp pics... also I was able to get takeout. My boyfriend and I stopped here for a quick lunch after an afternoon of weekday errands. There was no wait and we were sat immediately. We ordered okonomiyaki (one of the specials), veggie ramen, and nabeyaki udon. The okonomiyaki, which was one of the specials, was just like what I can make at home (missing the sticky grated yam that is used in real okonomiyaki batter!) At $8 the portion was a little too small, so I wouldn't order it again. The ramen and udon were really great. The ramen was in a light soy sauce broth and was a giant portion of noodles topped with a generous amount of veggies. I also liked the addition of kale. I enjoyed the restaurant itself, as it reminded me a lot of the small ramen joints you can find in any Japanese city. The handwritten specials on the wall, enka music playing in the background, and unfussy decorations make for a nice atmosphere. Came to this secret gem today for lunch. My friend comes a lot and I've been craving ramen so it was a win win... They open at 11:30, got there at 11:50....Get there early. Only 7 tables (6 which are 2 tops, was told by some regulars there's always a line). Ordered the Chacha dumplings which was yummy.... then I got the Seafood Ramen.. portion was huge! Cha-Cha is definitely a gem in the somewhat boring Wellington. It's tiny and tucked away in a weird strip mall that's not even facing the street. But it has an authentic feel of typical Japan Izakaya. The menu offers the standard Japanese food, sushi, tempura, udon, ramen, don, etc. The place is small and run by a Japanese family from Yokohama. We recently returned from a trip to Japan, so can give the honest opinion that the dishes Cha-Cha offers are very authentic, easily beating all other Japanese restaurants in the area (and yes we have tried most of them). I haven't tried their Sushi rolls recently, so can't comment on that. But their noodle dishes are quite good (Ramen and Udon). The Tonkotsu Cha Cha Spicy Ramen's broth is very flavorful, the ramen noodle chewy, the only downside is the pork, which is tender but not as tender / flavorful than those we tasted in Japan. The Nabeyaki Udon is also quite good, the slight downside compared to the Udon in Japan would be that the noodle is not as springy, and the soup a little too sweet. But I'd say I'm quite satisfied with the quality of both noodle dishes, considering the location. It wasn't crowded when we were there, so the service was prompt. The owner is very friendly. When we communicated with her using the very little Japanese we knew, she was very happy and eagerly chatted with us. We showed her the photo of an Udon dish we had in Japan, asking whether they make it in Cha-Cha. She said it's not on the menu, but they can surely make it. Started off with appetizers: grilled octopus and takoyaki(octopus balls with bonito flakes), really great smoked flavor I ordered the Nabeyaki Udon with Tempura vegetables. The service, while still friendly, is honestly rather awful. The prices have also gone up... and, sadly, my food here has been mixed. The ramen still pleases me, and so does the Takoyaki.... but I have been let down by some of the other items I've tried. I'll still frequent when I am able, and when I am craving those slurpy, delicious noodles.... but I hope the staff tightens up and the prices sort themselves out. :( read more

The Katsu don was very good. Really really nice, pleasant service as well. Limited seating but very clean interior. I was disappointed to see they no longer do sushi but they have plenty of other options on the menu and authentic Japanese food isn't all about sushi. I don't get what these raving reviews are about. It must be that I came on Father's Day. We came to get sushi and the first thing we are told is that they don't have any sashimi or sushi lunches or 2 other types of rolls. Also no green tea. So we ordered the regular sushi portions (what is the difference besides price? You've got me...) We got barely tea instead of green tea, because they didn't have that either, and low and behold, the tea tasted like pure coffee, because they brew their tea in the same machine as coffee. Total bad taste in my mouth. I got a shrimp and vegetable tempura for an appetizer, which was 2 pieces of shrimp and 3 pieces of vegetables in a large basket. Really. $6. My sister got the salmon roll which was 99% rice 1% we don't even know. My rainbow roll was cream cheese, rice, and a piece of fish on top. I was introduced to Cha-Cha's Japanese Restaurant a couple of years ago by a good friend. It's a small little place with only 10 tables max. It is an old school Japanese mom and pop family owned eatery, with the owner personally cooking everything himself. I believe he is the only cook for the restaurant. I've had almost everything on the menu, with the exception of a couple of items. The food, without a doubt, gets 5 stars, with the Yasai ramen, being my favorite item on the menu! My food has always been cooked perfectly. From the Ramen to the Takoyaki to the Ika No Ichiyaboshi. The Servers are always so warm and inviting. Being a frequent customer, they remember my order and make me feel welcomed. I've even become close to a couple of the servers. Like I said, the food and the service definitely receives 5 stars! The reason for my 4 star rating is there is no take out, the restaurant fills up quickly and then there is a long wait and they are closed on Monday's, which most Japanese restaurants are. My day off is of course Monday so it's hard to get to Cha-Cha's on other days. Being that their food is amazing, it's disappointing that there is no take out and if you don't go at their down time, because there are only a few tables, you may be waiting up to 30 minutes to get a table.. I have been to cha-cha, probably twenty to 30 times now, by myself and with my family and I can say that outside of the tiny venue sometimes causing wait times or discomfort, the food is absolutely fantastic and as authentic as you can get in probably all of southern Florida. Their cha-cha shoyu is the perfect level of rich broth and spice, and the tonkatsu has all the flavor of a pork roast condensed into a dense milky broth.
