Excellent food, and even more excellent service. During these times of Covid, I've been super paranoid going anywhere. But, I caved in to my crave for some good Pad Thai and Thai iced tea... the door was left open, so you don't have to touch the door. Didn't know how relieving that would have felt. Lady at the front was nice and packed everything up super safe. My drink even had a plastic wrap around it. You can tell they want to make sure everyone stays safe, while still able to enjoy great food. I really hope people continue to give them business. Just got some take out from here today... ordered Yellow chicken curry, green chicken curry, orange chicken and pad Thai... the orange chicken was meh... not much of an orange flavor and the chicken was a little soggy... The yellow curry and green curry were good but we got mild because my husband doesn't do spicy... flavor was still good but this is probably the first time I have seen big pieces of chicken on the bone in a curry dish at a Thai restaurant.. when getting it to go, the chicken uses a lot of space on the container with all the bone in chicken... but overall I enjoyed the flavor. Pad Thai had good flavor but the noodles were a little overdone because they were in one big blob stuck together and a little too soft ... but overall still ok. I think this place has some kinks to work out but I will come back after awhile to check it out again. read more

Found a hidden gem in San Ramon. Quiet, family run restaurant with tasty Thai food. We enjoyed the Spring rolls, pad Thai, kra prow, mango salad, and pineapple fried rice. Everything was fresh and delicious, presented well, and with excellent service. We will be back soon! read more

Ordered take out Food was bland Order taker spent a good amount of time taking order and the specifics, but the receipt didn't show any of what we discussed Perhaps their food is good, but I can't judge it because the order taker didn't execute what we discussed In fact receipt was totally off in terms of spice level (I asked for medium, it was mild) other options she suggested (half veggie half tofu) it was all veggie and loaded with veggies to the point I couldn't taste the broth Won't be giving them another chance for a while I hope they fix it because this is a great neighborhood location read more

This restaurant is AMAZING! I have never had a bad experience after the numerous times eating here. The food is all delicious and the customer service is excellent. The portions are generous for lunch and I truly appreciate the wonderful brown rice that they offer. Not every restaurant offers brown rice & some brown rice is very dry & seems old and an after-thought. But, Cha Thai must make their brown rice daily because every time I have had it - it has been moist and delicious. That is how good the food is at Cha Thai...they even make sure that the rice that they are serving with the other dishes are at the highest level. read more

The yellow curry was bland, broth was watered down. They give you a huge serving, but I prefer quality over quantity. Rice wasn't too fresh either. Potatoes were almost too hard to eat. Service was fast and friendly. read more

Was hoping this was a 5 star since it is the closest Thai restaurant to our house... Went here because we were starving and they opened at 4:30, our usual place was not open yet, so we gave this a try. . Would have been 3.5 stars for the food but ordered online for a 4:45 pick-up. Received a call at 4:40 confirming my order and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes (4:50). Did not get order until 5:05, 20 minutes after when it was supposed to be ready. A little disappointing. Also, when I arrived at 4:50, the open sign was not on and the closed sign was still showing in the window. Walked inside and some of the staff were eating inside while I waited, did I mention I was starving. The staff did not seem concerned that I had to wait or that the signs were not correct, when I pointed it out to them. One gentlemen left when he saw the closed sign at 4:45. As for the food, it was OK, 3 star. I got drunken noddles and they were OK, a lot of the noodles where stuck together. My wife got yellow curry and she said it was OK too. The sauce was really thick and a lot of potatoes, not much chicken. Don't know if we will be back, even though it is so close to our house. I wish the food and service was better. read more

I just want to share my experience in this family owned restaurant, my husband and I were running around all day and we found this place by accident, since we were really hungry we decided to give it try, surprisingly The food was amazingly delicious, top notch service!!! Our daughter came joined us.After we finished and left my daughter's car won't start, my husband went back to the restaurant to ask for help and that's when we got to meet the owner who went above and beyond to help us to jump start our daughter's car, to get her going to work since Road service was going to take hours to come, not only he (Sam) help us he even checked out our battery to find out that was very low on water, we went next door and got the destilled water,filled it up jump start it and she was good to go!!! Today is my three year wedding anniversary and we went here for dinner. We had 3 items the sweet and sour chicken the chicken potstickers and the chicken satay. Everything was perfect from beginning to end we were greeted politely we were seated quickly we were served quickly the food was delicious the service was extraordinary and the price was reasonable I highly recommend this place and this will be my new spot when eating out read more

Love this new hidden gem in San Ramon. Thai food has always been one of my favorites and I like stuff tasty and spicy. This place is pretty authentic and the owners and staff are super friendly too! Everything we have ordered here has been very consistently from curry (all kinds), PadThai, papaya salad, chicken satay, eggplant and basil and the garlic pepper stir fry which my kids love. It's so good that they even eat all the veggies that come with it. Their sticky rice and mango is pretty good also. We have been looking for a Thai restaurant near us. We usually drive to Berkeley, SF, Walnut Creek for thai food. Today we tried Cha Thai Bistro and we loved it! The food was delicious, we ordered the tom yum soup and we were surprised at how big the bowl was and how loaded with vegetables it was. We also got the papaya salad and it was a big salad it was also delicious! ordered the green curry with chicken lots of veggies and the flavors were perfect! We also got garlic pepper stir fry this plate also had a lot of veggies and the flavors were perfect. Not to mention the service was great! Went there for lunch today with a friend. Awesome location - right off the freeway. Friendly staff - advised us on what to expect on food portions and spice levels. Food arrived promptly. This place has improved a lot since they first opened. I come here regularly and they keep getting better. The food is authentic and the corner location has a nice open atmosphere. The Tom Kha is fresh with generous quantities of ingredients, and the green curry is nice and hot. They don't put as much fish sauce as I like, but you can add more at the table. read more

Service was ok. Pad Thai noodle was way too sweet.. at the same time I was complaining about the pad Thai being too sweet, the table next to me was complaining about the curry was too salty. LOL. This newer restaurant is pretty close to home so I really wanted to like it but unfortunately it was just average at best. Walking in I immediately noticed how eclectic the dining room was using 20 different materials to decorate it, nothing matched and the high pub tables I find are always awkward to have a meal at. Only one person working was visible and turned out he did it all but cooked and at times was pretty busy being the order takes, cashier, server, busboy etc. Food came out in a reasonable time. We started with a papaya salad followed by green curry over rice and drunken noodles. We ordered it medium hot and I like pretty spicy foods but it was a little too spicy. The dishes were average at best. Nothing stood out, we will continue to frequent our usual Thai restaurants in the area and not likely to return. Not that it was bad just not as good as most other Thai places in the area in my opinion. read more

Really yummy food!! I got Pad Kee Mow and Fried Rice and it was really delicious. I'm vegetarian and love the tofu substitutes. My husband got a chicken curry dish and he really loved it. The only reason that I gave it 4/5 stars is that we came from Los Angeles and it's next level as far as their Thai Food goes but this is the best place is the best so far in the East Bay. read more

A hidden gem right next to Starbucks. We had takeout from Cha Thai last night and the food was sooooo good. We had both fried and fresh spring rolls, delish! The Pad Thai was so fresh, delicious and yummy, also the Massaman curry. Great taste, very fresh and flavorful. Everyone loved their meal. You can choose the protein, and the level of spice you prefer on the website when ordering on-line. In addition to the great food, there is probably no restaurant in the area with nicer staff. Super friendly restaurant. The staff are very courteous, and even though it is not exactly "traditional Thai" restaurant, it is more of a fusion place, their dishes are always warm, cozy/comfort food, a place to go to when you need to have a quick bite. She hustled the whole time we were there with service at the counter for take-out and serving the dining tables! The owners seemed very friendly and the interior was modern and clean. My wife and I live across the corner and we were happy with the price and quality of the food.
