Found this gem a while back and was glad to have another dim sum place in the area. The interior is narrow but spacious. The staff is friendly and very kid friendly. They even have plastic plates for kids. The dim sum was average, not bad but not amazingly good. The dim sum was a pretty decent size but kept falling apart.

We came here on a Sunday for lunch and got seated right away. We got the following items: - sticky rice wrap - shrimp dumpling - shrimp and pork siu mai - steamed BBQ pork buns - fish porridge The portion is actually really big, which really surprised me! However, the majority of the dishes we had were very mediocre. The sticky rice wrap was especially disappointing since the rice wasn't as sticky - not sure if it's because of the type of rice used. Service was really attentive!

You'd never guess there's excellent cuisine at this fairly nondescript restaurant. Friendly, unrushed service and excellent dishes...surprisingly so. The Dim Sum comes out when it's ready: Perfect temperature, Perfectly delivered. Casual ambiance but comfortable. Highly recommend and very reasonably priced.

Good dim sum place that serves dim sum at later hours than other local dim sum places If you're craving dim sum late afternoon or early evening, this is a definite option My main complaint with what I ordered is that the sauce is already mixed in with the shrimp rice noodle. I would have preferred if the sauce was on the side, so you can control how much sauce to add to your taste. The sauce is a bit too salty for me so I would have added very little if any at all, but since it was already mixed in, there was nothing I could do about that Otherwise, a solid dim sum spot

The highlight was the service - extremely attentive and sweet! And the dim sum was so good too-- everythinf we got was as good as (if not better than) versions we've had in the past: 1) BBQ pork buns (not pictured) - the softest yet not soggy buns I've ever had 2) turnip cakes - more savory and cris than I've ever had, with a nice surprise of Chinese sausage bits inside 3) fried tofu- perfectly crispy with a nice dipping sauce 4) shanghai soup dumplings- homey taste with a nice chewy wrapper, served atop Napa cabbage 5) shiu mai (not pictured) - hefty size, filled generously with pork and shrimp 6) chow mein - flavorful (will have to try the chow feng next time) 7) sesame balls - perfectly crispy on the outside and steaming on the inside, not too greasy at all! We loved the casual, family-run feel of this place and will return for our dim sum fix in the future!

First time. I was not disappointed. Very good service and very tasty food. I had the lunch special which included choice of soup. I took the hot and sour which was probably some of the best I've had. I had the orange chicken which came with egg roll little cream, cheese, wonton, and fried rice. Portion was very nice very tasty and very quick service.

Wow, what a hidden gem! First time here with my mom, aunt and uncle and we had such great experience! Amazing fresh dimsum and we didn't have to go to Alhambra for it. Exceptional service by Julie. Cant wait to take my whole fam!

We ordered online pickup. Food was ready in about 10 minutes nicely packaged! Even on a holiday the staff showed me my order. Food was tasty. Interestingly some items were more sweet than expected. I guess they are catering to their audience. We ordered pad thai, beef and broccoli, fried rice, and panang curry and they were all good just sweeter than you would usually expect at traditional places. Plenty of parking. Be aware the sign on the door says to order online if you want take out (they provide their website on the door) and they don't do takeout in person. Probably for the best to eliminate errors and they are pretty fast at order fulfillment!

Yay!! 1st attempt - SUCCESS! We had Pork siomai, Porridge with century egg, steamed dumplings, chicken feet, Kung Pao chicken (lunch meal), pork bun, steamed "something" - all for only 2- we were hungry, yes. We had to gos afterward. From these orders that we had- I can say that KUNGPAO CHICKEN and pork siomai are the best. Eeeeeverything taste good, but if I will come back here these two will be present on the table again. The place, I can say is a little high-end compared to other Chinese restaurants that serve the same dish- it's decent and good for dates and group. It's clean, the staff is really attentive, restrooms are available, and a lot of parking. So yeah, all in all I recommend! Nice place to visit for Dimsum cravings!

A friend was *craving* coming here so we came for dinner. I love shrimp fried rice and theirs was delicious!!! She had something way more adventurous and loved it. Their spring rolls were really yummy as well. This place in in an open mall area and is probably hard to miss if you don't live in the area, which is kind of a shame. I hope they have nothing but great success. The restaurant was super clean and the service was beyond quick and friendly. I will definitely go back with my friend when I visit her.

The service is consistently great... attentive, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. Fair warning for anyone new to Sichuan cuisine, the dominant flavor is "spicy". That said, the dishes are not just about heat... they're layered, aromatic, and incredibly well-balanced. Every dish I've tried has been outstanding, both in flavor and presentation. If you're a fan of bold, authentic flavors and reliable service, this spot is definitely worth visiting. Tip - If you're new to the cuisine, I strongly recommend getting everything MILD spicy. I've been told by some of my colleagues that MILD spicy is still pretty spicy, so be warned. With that said, strongly recommend the dishes below. Lamb with Cumin 11/10 - My favorite dish here by far. Aromatic, flavorful, and the spices are just on point. Dan Dan Noodles 9/10 - Solid and consistently good. The sauce is properly seasoned and truly compliments the perfectly cooked noodles. Shredded Cabbage with Pork 9/10 - Not to be confused with twice cooked pork. This dish is so simple and bland looking, but it's packed with flavor... so good! Garlic Pork Belly 8/10 - This is a cold dish. The meat was perfectly cooked and properly coated in chili oil. Solid and consistently good. Kung Pao Chicken 8/10 - In my opinion, it's an elevated Kung Pao Chicken. Solid and consistently good.

The cold noodles were refreshing and had a nice firm texture, making them a great starter. The qiao jiao beef stood out with its rich beef bone broth, and both the beef and radish were incredibly tender. The shredded potatoes with vinegar and chilies had a satisfying crunch and a nice kick without being overwhelming. One of my favorite dishes was the tea smoked pork ribs. They were fall-off-the-bone tender and the crispy garlic on top added a lot of flavor and texture. The kung pao chicken was another standout. The chicken pieces were meaty and the sauce had a sweet and savory flavor that actually reminded me of sweet and sour pork, which I really enjoyed. It's a comfortable spot with padded banquettes or chairs at the tables, which feature chrome frames and (very good-looking) faux marble tops; along with white walls and light-colored wood accents, the owners have created a clean, simple, welcoming environment. The mood is jostled even further into a specific vibe of calmness with the carefully curated music being played: bossa nova covers of pop hits from bygone days (The Bee Gees' "More Than A Woman" and the Bee Gees'-written Streisand hit, "A Woman In Love" being examples), but it all works. The menu offers a varied selection of dishes from several Asian cultures, from Chinese Beef Rolls to Japanese noodles and soups to Korean Beef over rice. It's not a huge menu, but there's definitely enough there for everyone to find something interesting to eat. The food is all cooked in view of the customers by a staff of chefs working in a sparkling clean kitchen enclosed by windows, and the staff is uniformly friendly despite juggling a lunchtime crowd at the tables plus quite a lot of to-go orders. I tried 2 really enjoyable and satisfying dishes. Beef Rolls featured thinly sliced brisket rolled inside crispy fried crepes with scallion, cilantro and a touch of Hoisin sauce. The brisket had a mild but distinctive flavor that spoke of careful preparation, while the slightly astringent pop from the onions and herbs was a nice foil for the inherent fattiness of the fried crepes. The Hoisin sauce was very subtly deployed, lending tasty support without overwhelming everything else. I added some of the house chili oil for a little extra spice and peppery depth, but these well-made rolls were terrific all by themselves. It should also be noted that the portion is very generous, especially for the price ($12.80), and more than enough for 2 people (perhaps 4 people, if each has 1/2). My other dish was the Qinghai Clear Cold Noodle, a terrific-looking, and even better-tasting blend of thick, chewy noodles, fresh chopped garlic, veggies, tofu and chili sauce that's got a bit of heat but more so a pleasing depth of Chinese spices. This appetizer is packed with flavor and just happens to be Vegan (as are a number of menu items), so it can be enjoyed by anyone. All in all, this was a fantastic mid-week lunch that pleased the senses without breaking the bank, and I even brought some home for later. Do give this Noodle St. a try -- and if you're not in Pasadena, check their website, because they have 8 locations, with a 9th opening soon in Sherman Oaks.

The quality was solid, and everything came out hot. The chicken wings were great, the garlic green beans and cucumber salad were amazing, and the signature spicy ramen was really good too. It was a bit greasy, almost like birria, but the meat was tender and the broth tasted like it had been cooking for 48 hours deep, rich, and full of flavor. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the Korean beef. It was way too sweet and didn't really give Korean BBQ flavor. The meat seemed more steamed than grilled, and not even vinegar or chili oil could save it for me. Other than that, everything else was fresh, flavorful, and worth coming back for.

We'd been talking about getting Chinese food, and he picked Xiang La Hui, his go-to spot for classic Sichuan. I'd never been before, and was more than happy to try a new spot in the SGV. We met up at noon and stayed until the restaurant wrapped up lunch service and gently pushed us out the door, sometime around 2:30. The space was nice, instantly recognizable as a Chinese restaurant in Alhambra. It was pretty quiet the whole time, a good place for a leisurely catch-up. Service was fast and polite, though the combination of QR code ordering and poor Verizon service was a bummer. I had to cross the dining room to take down the wifi password posted on the opposite wall. We ordered a sizable spread for two people: Chong Qing fried chicken, dan dan noodles, wontons with chili oil, and pea tips with garlic. Everything was delicious, most of all the Chong Qing fried chicken, crispy nibbly bits of breaded chicken stir-fried with green onion and hot pepper. I love dan dan noodles and wontons, and thought both were great, if not the best I've had in the area. The pea tips were lovely, bright green and not spicy, but abundantly flavorful. I'd love to come back to Xiang La Hui and try more of the menu. It seems like a restaurant that does everything well, and I'll keep it in mind whenever I'm craving Sichuan.
