I thoroughly enjoyed their Crispy Kare-Kare. It is wonderful that they prepare everything fresh upon order. You might experience a slight wait for your meal, but it is certainly worth it. As a Southern California Filipina, born and raised in San Diego, and with a chef for a father, I have had the pleasure of trying various styles of kare-kare. Alongside the kare-kare, the bagoong (cooked shrimp paste) is equally important. I wouldn't even consider eating kare-kare without bagoong. If the bagoong is not up to par, the kare-kare is not as satisfying. This was my very first experience with Crispy Kare-Kare, and I am definitely planning to return to Almuchow to savor one of my favorite Filipino dishes again. Bagoong is an acquired taste. My husband dislikes its aroma and flavor, which is why he doesn't particularly enjoy kare-kare. The quality of the kare-kare is intrinsically linked to the bagoong. This Filipina was so happy to find Filipino food in the area. I was resigned to having to drive to my parents' house, West Covina, Cerritos or my sister's house to get some Filipino food. Although I can cook many dishes, sometimes you just want to get take out. We ordered: Longsilog- my husband and I shared an order. It hit the spot although I wish they had spicy vinegar! Located in Blossom Market Hall, I've been here a couple of times. Food court style, it's a great atmosphere for a quick meal or takeout. ::Food:: My favorite dish is definitely the Crispy Pata. The skin is crispy, the meat is tender, and it's perfect to share with family or friends. I also tried the Crispy Kare-Kare, but it just wasn't for me. I usually love the traditional kare-kare. The tocino breakfast with longanisa, egg, and garlic rice is another meal I like. The tocino was flavorful, and you can never go wrong with garlic rice and eggs. Came here on a Sunday during open at 11am. I was the first customer and got my Silog Combo order (Longanisa and Steak) in less than 15 minutes. After tax and tip it rang up to $25.74. The amount was filling, was able to split it between myself and my wife. The Longanisa had flavor but tasted different from the type I usually buy from the market. It definitely had less oil than what I'm used to which could be a good thing. The tapsilog (steak) was tasty, cooked well and had a good amount of flavor. The ambiance is that the seating is shared amongst the establishments in Blossom Market Hall. Sometimes there's a live band. Since I adore lumpia I couldn't resist grabbing an order - and I was not disappointed. Definitely a solid choice for lumpia in the area (it's called Lumpiang Shanghai on their menu). The pieces are small but quantity is more than ample. And they come with a sweet/sour sauce. The lumpia were nice and crisp on the outside and smooth on the inside with great flavor and not greasy. We also tried to order some chicken adobo but they were sold out - will have to try and catch it again next time bc it looks great. Prices are reasonable and service was efficient and pleasant. We were a little bothered by the fact that the cook and other food handlers weren't wearing gloves and were touching their faces and the money while also handling food - we almost didn't order there bc of it but gave it a shot anyway lol. My first time trying authentic Filipino food and it surely did not disappoint! I got the Longsilog which includes two scoops of garlic rice, longanisa (Filipino sausage), cucumbers, and 2 eggs. The eggs were cooked to perfection: jammy and runny with a smooth glass like egg white. The Filipino sausage had a blend of savory flavors with a hint of sweetness to it. Both the sausage and the eggs complimented the rice so well. I was extremely impressed with the garlic flavored rice! It was delicious and the portion was very big! Definitely a filling meal! This place was inside a public market eateries that are common in a lot of areas now. Obviously, seats are hard to find, but with a little patience you can snag one just in in time that your order is ready. Surprisingly, food was good and really up to Par with how I'd prepared these dishes at home. Today was protein day, so the food we ordered was loaded with grams of protein and no carbs (rice). We have been here multiple times and keep coming back. My daughter loves the pork sinigang and the calamari. I don't know what they do to the calamari but we love that it is flavorful and soft. Warm, flavorful, nostalgic... until the isaw disappeared after like three bites. $13 and the toppings were MIA. A boiled egg would've made the price sting a little less, just saying. Then came the lumpiang shanghai. $15 for 15 tiny pieces, each about an inch long. Crunchy and flavorful, yes, but for the price, it felt a bit... stingy. Customer service was excellent. The tita running things was kind and accommodating. I genuinely wanted to root for this place but it's hard to ignore the price-to-portion ratio. Dishonest business practices here. Don't support this business owner, and don't spend your money here. I came here for dinner the other day and ordered the tapsilog and the calamari. When we got called for our food, only the tapsilog was sitting on the counter so I asked about the calamari. The business owner (I assumed he was the business owner later by the way he spoke to me in a later interaction) looked surprised as if he wasn't aware that I had also ordered the calamari, and told me to take the tapsilog first while they worked on the calamari. Ok no problem. These things happen. I asked when I should come back for the second item, and he said to give them 10 minutes. Ok no problem. I eat the tapsilog with my boyfriend (which was not tender, too oily, and coated my lips with grease. It was also too expensive for the portion we got, but I digress) and come back to the counter about 10 minutes later. The calamari still isn't ready yet. They tell me to wait another 10 minutes. I come back, now a total of 20 minutes later, and the calamari STILL ISN'T READY. It seemed apparent at this point that they had forgotten to put my order in, and kept putting off making it even after several check ins. Yes, they were pretty busy that night, but that's no excuse considering I had already paid for the item and waited over 20 extra minutes for it! At this point, I tell the owner that I need to leave because I have plans to go somewhere else already, and I cannot wait any longer for the calamari. I asked for a refund. I paid for the original item via card, but instead of refunding me via my credit card, the owner decides to refund me with cash. Ok no problem. However, when he refunds me with cash, he tells me that my refund is $14 and something cents (I don't remember the exact amount) and gives me $14 flat. He ROUNDS DOWN TO GIVE ME MY REFUND. That is INSANE and so dishonest for a business owner to do. And it's not even like he ran out of coins!!! If he had ran out of coins, he would have just told me "oh sorry I don't have any coins left" but instead, when I asked "what about the remainder" then he SIGHED and SCOFFED at me like "oh wow you really care about that?" and then reached into the register to hand me the rest of the coins. The attitude on this guy was unbelievable and it made me feel so uncomfortable when I was just asking for a refund for an item I had waited over 20 minutes for and never received. He acted like I was the one who did something wrong and he was being so inconvenienced by refunding me the exact amount that I paid. It's not even about the money at this point, it's about the principle and the poor customer service to follow. I will never ever return here, I will never give them my business ever again, and I will encourage all of my friends to spend their money elsewhere. There are so many other great restaurants in the Blossom Market Hall that deserve business and customers over this awful, dishonest, and rude place. read more

First time at Almuchow Atbp and we decided to try their Longsilog and Winter Melon Tea. The Longsilog consisted of garlic fried rice, 2 sunny side eggs, 2 small longanisa, a half slice from a half slice of a tomato and a slice of cucumber. Excellent customer service at Almuchow Atbp from the beginning of the transaction at the counter when ordering until pick up of the meal and drink. We inquired about ingredients and cross contamination as our child has food allergies specifically to peanuts, tree nuts and sesame seed. The lady along with the cook was awesome they informed us and guaranteed that none of the Longsilog contained any of those food ingredients. The longanisa from the Longsilog is homemade by Almuchow Atbp which is even better. The longanisa was very good and it's flavorful and not plenty of fat which we appreciate. The garlic fried rice was also good and you can taste the garlic and the rice is not salty. Winter Melon Tea was good and it's not too sweet. Really happy to have a spot like this around. I've tried a few different things here and the food has been consistently satisfying. The Tapsilog was very good. The beef was flavorful and paired perfectly with the garlic rice and eggs. I also ordered the Lumpiang Shanghai, which came out hot and crispy and was honestly one of my favorite things on the table. On another visit I tried the Pansit Canton and Pinakbet with Bagnet, and both tasted comforting and home-style. Portions felt fair and the food tasted freshly made.
