It didn't taste bad but I just expected more Lunch plate with char siu and garlic shrimp: the char siu was super sweet and the garlic shrimp was super salty. I prefer the char siu. Let's start with the food. Probably the best thing in this review. Good flavors and good serving sizes. Food served with proper spicing and fresh. Thats about it. The ambiance is very casual. Good place for a quick bite but wouldn't want to stay long. It gets stuffy and hot in there. Not alot of ventilation or air control. Now lets talk about the service. I can say by far this was the biggest problem and I can understand why the business has been struggling. First thing you see when you walk in is the Aloha promise sign or sign of service detailing how you should be greeted and how long it should take and how no one will walk in or out in silence. The server/cashier didn't follow any of those things. We walked in and she looked at us and kept talking to the group of kids getting water and ordering. Finally when I went up to order she was very distant and short. I asked who I could talk to about catering (for my daughter's birthday party) she scoffed and pointed to herself and said "ummm... me" I told her what we would like and she said she'd talk to the cooks. After ordering our food my kids got their drinks from the refrigerator. We had to wipe the cans down because they were covered in dust and dirt. We waited for our food and everything came except my wife's food. I waited 10 minutes and then went to the cashier and asked if the food was coming. She argued with me that i never ordered it and that should would know what food I ordered. After finally understanding that we wanted to eat she place the other order for me. We ate our food and I asked if she had word from the cooks. She said shes been busy and didn't ask yet. Keep in mind, it was my group of 4 and another group of 3 in the building. No one else. We finished our food and was presented the check. When she gave us the bull she said that the cooks didn't want to "shut down the kitchen" just to make our order for catering because they get busy. She said to order it on Friday and just serve it the next day. Needless to say, we left after paying. Called L&L and they gladly took our catering order, had it ready for us on Saturday and everyone was happy. Another spot where we redeemed our SGV passport offers. I had Aloha Food Factory bookmarked for a long time. I was very happy with this first visit. We came on a Sunday and it was very packed! The whole restaurant was almost at full capacity. The parking lot is also small but street parking is available. The restaurant has the entire aloha vibe. There's indoor and outdoor seating and you order at the register before you find seats. We ended up using the redemption for the spam Musubis and I ordered a stack of the Macadamia Nut pancakes. We were lucky to find seating outside and the food didn't take long to be received. The spam musubi were very saucy, but I enjoyed them. The Macadamia Nut pancakes is IT, though! You must try these pancakes if it's your first time. The portion is enormous! The first bite of it was exceptional! I'm a Loco Moco fiend!! And this place had one of the best loco moco's I've had in a long time. The gravy was delicious and the burger was perfect. And OMG the macadamia nut pancakes were the absolute BEST! I think it was the best pancake I've ever had. Service was quick and friendly. And just felt so nice and cozy in there. Aloha Food Factory is a great spot for a quick bite. My husband and I got two Spam Musubis each (SGV passport redemption) and an extra order of their famous Macadamia Nut Pancakes. Their musubis were hot and fresh when served. They were cut in half to fit in their to-go containers, which was thoughtful and convenient. The spam they used wasn't the traditional kind that we're used to seeing. It was thicker, but still tasted the same. There was also a lot of teriyaki sauce that off-set the salinity from the spam. There was more sauce than I'd like, it can get a bit messy when you eat them. It was delicious, none-the-less! I definitely recommend getting those. My husband enjoyed the Macadamia Pancakes! Very happy I stopped by after reading reviews. Working right down the street on Valley, this place is a must try! Came in starving and left with a box to go (plus an extra portion for lunch). Food came in a generous helping and the flavors were spot on. The place was filled at 10:30 in the morning for lunch and breakfast. We were craving Hawaiian food yesterday, so we went to Aloha Food Factory around 1-ish. We ordered the macadamia nut pancakes (2 pcs, $8.99), one Spam Musubi (4 pcs, $5.99), one Kalua Pig Bowl ($9.99), and one Plate Lunch with one entrée ($13.99). I picked the Lau Lau for an extra $1.99. We were told that the pancakes would take a while, maybe around 30 minutes, but my daughters still wanted them because they order them every time we visit. I originally thought only the pancakes would take longer, but all of our food took quite a while. The Spam Musubi finally arrived around 1:35 PM, the plate lunch came about 10 minutes later, and the pancakes were finally served at 1:50 PM. By then, we were starving, so everything tasted delicious. We just wished the vegetables were cooked a little softer since the broccoli was still quite hard. Wow!!!!! I was brought back to Ha-Va-E ( as the locals pronounce it). These are authentic island dishes without a doubt. It's no wonder this place stays busy, busy. I've been to Hawaii several times and pride myself on being a lover of the culture and food, but I can honestly say that I've never had a loco moco quite this delicious. If you love massive amounts of custard, then this is for you. Unfortunately the custard did not compliment the pancakes but rather overwhelmed them. Met up with a friend for lunch at Aloha Food Factory on Tuesday 4/28 before our Costco run. It has been a while since my last visit and this was my friend's first time there. We were both happy with our meals. I ordered the Breakfast Plate with teriyaki chicken and eggs over-medium ($14.92 after taxes) served over a bed of rice. The chicken was flavorful, tender and drizzled with a slightly sweet teriyaki sauce. Delicious and something I could see ordering again. This was a very generous portion, so I had enough left over to take home for another meal. My friend ordered the Lunch Plate with teriyaki chicken and char shu (about $20 after taxes), served over a bed of rice with some vegetables and a side of macaroni salad. The char shu had good flavor, but he thought it was a bit dry and could have been more tender. Portion was sufficient for him to have some to take home as well.
