I'd come back just for that. Loco moco was ok. Mac Nut pancake was ok. The sauce was more like a custard and I thought it would be a Mac nut whipped cream. Rice was good. No OJ was weird, so I got a soda. The service could use a little work. Train up your stuff and don't just hire anybody. Cashier was borderline rude and just not that helpful. I thought I would give this place another try especially after all the advertisements on social media. I didn't have a good experience when I was last here 10+ years ago. I got here a little after lunch on a Sunday. I went to the counter and the girl that was helping me said a few things were sold out. Totally understandable since it was past the lunch rush. A few things was an understatement, more like half the menu was sold out. I asked for the Katsu which they had listed as available. I was then told they are out of Katsu sauce. Fine, I'll take the teriyaki beef which was listed as available. I was then told they are out of teriyaki sauce. I then asked if there a was a fried rice dish that I can order. I just got a blank stare. This is not helpful at all. I was pretty annoyed. I ended up ordering the teriyaki beef with no teriyaki sauce and macadamia nut pancakes. The pancake was moist and the cream sauce was generally enjoyable. However, the pancakes could've been cooked more since the center was a bit doughy. The cream sauce was also a bit too much. It was still overall good though. We also had the spam musubis which were pretty straightforward, but could've been firmer. It was already falling apart upon it being served to us. The interior of the restaurant also wasn't the cleanest. The surfaces and the menus were pretty greasy and sticky and the booth seat I sat on was pretty scratched up. However, the prices at this restaurant are really good! Pretty good value for a hearty meal. The servers were really nice. The portions were huge. The inside decorations made us feel like we were in Hawaii. The pancakes were sooooo good. It is a must try! The kalbi ribs were a bit on the fatty side and chewy, but the portions were huge. The Spam Musubi came with 4 pieces, was a bit crispy on the inside, and had teriyaki sauce over it. Another spot where we redeemed our SGV passport offers. I had Aloha Food Factory bookmarked for a long time. I was very happy with this first visit. We came on a Sunday and it was very packed! The whole restaurant was almost at full capacity. The parking lot is also small but street parking is available. The restaurant has the entire aloha vibe. There's indoor and outdoor seating and you order at the register before you find seats. We ended up using the redemption for the spam Musubis and I ordered a stack of the Macadamia Nut pancakes. We were lucky to find seating outside and the food didn't take long to be received. The spam musubi were very saucy, but I enjoyed them. The Macadamia Nut pancakes is IT, though! You must try these pancakes if it's your first time. The portion is enormous! The first bite of it was exceptional! It was basically regular pancakes with vanilla pudding on top and some crushed nuts. Aloha Food Factory is a great spot for a quick bite. My husband and I got two Spam Musubis each (SGV passport redemption) and an extra order of their famous Macadamia Nut Pancakes. Their musubis were hot and fresh when served. They were cut in half to fit in their to-go containers, which was thoughtful and convenient. The spam they used wasn't the traditional kind that we're used to seeing. It was thicker, but still tasted the same. There was also a lot of teriyaki sauce that off-set the salinity from the spam. There was more sauce than I'd like, it can get a bit messy when you eat them. It was delicious, none-the-less! I definitely recommend getting those. My husband enjoyed the Macadamia Pancakes! He said loved the cream on top and the portion was well worth the $9. The restaurant was pretty packed when we got there around 11am on Sunday. There is only one cashier, so the line will build easily and start to feel a bit congested. They have several menus available to peruse while you're waiting to order. Parking is tight and can be a challenge. We had to circle twice before we found one. Note, it is shared between them and another establishment. They offer seating indoor and outdoor in front and back of the restaurant. Both sides are shaded, it's a great option if you want to enjoy the breeze. I'm a Loco Moco fiend!! And this place had one of the best loco moco's I've had in a long time. The gravy was delicious and the burger was perfect. And OMG the macadamia nut pancakes were the absolute BEST! I think it was the best pancake I've ever had. Service was quick and friendly. And just felt so nice and cozy in there. This place has been on my "Need to Go" list for years and we only just had time to go check it out recently. The main reason to go here is for the macadamia nut pancakes. It's more than I expected honestly. I usually do need quite a bit of food to keep my energy up, so I didn't really look up the portion size. I ordered a large macadamia nut pancake (comes with 3) with the cream on the side and an order of spam musubi (comes with 4). Highly recommend getting the cream on the side so you can control how much you want on your pancake. It's pretty sweet so I only wanted a light layer. Originally we planned to just share the pancakes and another dish, but when it came out, everyone's jaws just dropped. It is WAY bigger than any of us really imagined. We expected a small Denny's sized pancake. Nope, the pancakes were HUGE. Even when sharing, we were only able to share one pancake and had to to-go the other two for later. It fed me for 3 meals after that. I would like to say, being in here really reminded me of Hawaii. A few other things to keep in mind for your visits. I wasn't too thrilled about the flies, as I did spend a bit of our visit trying to swat them away. So do expect to battle flies every now and then. There's also a bathroom that's outside the restaurant that you have to get a key to open with. So if you're a super clean freak, you might want to make sure you don't need the bathroom while you're here. The water is also self served. Wow!!!!! I was brought back to Ha-Va-E ( as the locals pronounce it). These are authentic island dishes without a doubt. It's no wonder this place stays busy, busy. Stopped by Saturday morning and we ordered enough for the four of us and man we couldn't eat it all. These pancakes are delicious but heavy, they fill you up fast. All of the food was amazing. I've been to Hawaii several times and pride myself on being a lover of the culture and food, but I can honestly say that I've never had a loco moco quite this delicious. The beef was a great consistency and flavored well, but that gravy. The peppery and deep deep flavor was just undeniably delicious. My wife ordered it and I almost ate half of her plate haha. Ordered macadamia pancakes as well and they were solid. Loved the sauce they put on top. Spam musubi also really good, they cube the pieces and grill them on all sides so you get more char and a bit more of a crunch. Certified banger! I highly recommend getting the sauces on the side so you don't get smothered in them, especially the pancakes. The portions are medium-sized compared to other Haiwaiian restaurants I have been to (exception, the pancakes). The location? Very outdated but charming. Outside seating is a bit more fun, there is a door that slams so loudly you feel someone is banging on the wall. The service? Adequate. I would highly recommend a manager to walk around (or a server) greeting customers and making sure they have what they need. Lastly, the way they bring your food to the table is confusing for me.
