This place is getting it right since 5 years or so.. the food is consistently good, the service is top notch, the place feels and looks clean, the monthly specials are always a delight and the quality of the food ingredients is top class. I wonder sometimes why this place has only 4 stars overall rating. This place deserves nothing less than 5 stars because it delivers across all aspects of a restaurant. I take my guests here to impress them and everytime everyone of them is impressed. It happened last weekend also and it makes me feel good to see my guests satisfied with my recommendation. I went to Chaat Bhawan with my family on dinner. The place is neat and serves fresh Indian vegetarian food. I love their poori bhaaji. We ordered butter naan( 1 big naan cut into 4 pieces) , dal makhani and paneer tikka masala. The tikka masala has peanut and tasted bit different than the usual tikka masalas. Every time we're in Dublin we stop by here. It's our favorite Indian restaurant in the area. Service is always exceptional! Savio has helped us multiple times and he is great!! The restaurant is also huge and there's plenty of seating inside. Unfortunately I get too excited when the food comes out and forget to take pictures, but every dish I've tried has been fantastic. We have been regular customers for more than 10 years. A solid 4 stars all these years. Today I am rating it an 1-Star. Our last visit in June was strange - a new paneer dish we tried clearly was made from some canned cream of mushroom soup! Today my wife ordered pickup through Doordash. 2 pieces of sabudana vada for $9 felt like a ripoff, especially when images show 5 pieces on their ordering page. Please be aware of Chaat Bhavan's catering services. They rip you off by selling additional services such as on site catering, chef services and don't keep up with it. I opted for chef services based on their advice and they sent two people who looked like mediocre helpers and didn't even serve my guests well and asked them to serve on their own. I brought it to Dublin's chaat Bhavan management attention and they didn't seem to care for customer satisfaction and was not even sorry that this happened. Extremely unprofessional staff and catering services. I wouldn't go there again. Please be careful when choosing for their catering services. read more

Wow! I dont know how anyone could leave less than five stars for this restaurant. The curries here are my favorite in the Bay Area. I've tried five different Indian places in the past week trying to find one as good as here, but haven't found any better. Chaat Bhavan has the most flavor, highest quality of ingredients, and best portions for price. The food is consistent whether you get it delivered or if you dine in. Service is really good when dining in, they always makes me want to come back. They're super helpful in answering any questions about vegan options, and they also have plenty of Jain options. The variety of paratha here is great. There are so many options. If you're vegetarian (not vegan), the Chana Saag is delicious. For vegans, there is plenty, and I like the Chana Masala. Samosa are amazing too. Their menu is labeled well when you dine in, all they need to do is clarify if things are vegan on delivery apps like DoorDash. read more

A vegetarian's delight! The service was quick, and the place was clean and well lit. Not necessarily the place for a date night, but great if you just want to get good food at affordable prices! Food - (1) they customized the items to be "mild" spicy, which was super nice of them. However, in that process, some items turned out to be totally bland (2) they have a large menu, and it has never happened that any item was unavailable, (3) they have a lot of Indian street food options, which I love the paneer in the veggie burger was made in-house and was absolutely delicious, but it could have used some extra sauce for flavor street food items like Sabudana Vada, Dabeli, Khichdi were delicious - authentic flavors the dry potato sabji was not flavorful, but methi puri was great. We recently hired Chaat Bhavan for our event in San Ramon. Their food was absolutely amazing! Everything was fresh and tasty. We had a live Pani Puri station, which was a hit! The only issue we had was their lack of time management. We had a verbal and email conversation regarding the timeline of our event, and were told they would arrive 30-40 minutes prior to the event start time, 11:00am. I called their office at 10:40am for an update on the expected time of arrival, and was told they would arrive on time to start serving at 11:30am. Guests started arriving 11:15am, and at 11:30am the caterer finally showed up and began their setup. We planned to start serving appetizers at 11:30am, but they didn't start serving appetizers til 12:30pm, and lunch immediately followed. Nonetheless, everyone was pleased with their meal and we also had plenty of leftovers to enjoy. read more

Also tried their Kashmiri aloo dum and samosa chaat and they were delicious. Their bread is so fresh and great in texture. Pretty good Indian restaurant in the area. We've always gotten take out from here, but every time we've been inside, the dining area seems to be bustling with activity. One thing though - every time I come, I don't feel like its welcoming. It's obvious I ain't Indian, but all my neighbors are and we enjoy learning new cultures and cuisines. I'm sure it's because they're busy and I don't speak so communication may be an issue. Oh well. Like I mention, food here is good (coming from an outsider). My friends like it. The veg biryani is very flavorful, almost too much though. Not sure if it's the spice, but it is on the salty side. Same with the chana. But I just throw some yogurt on it and all good. I've yet to try out some of the more exciting dishes here. I'll get to it for sure, but I'll surely try some dine in options with my neighbors. read more

The food was super salty and one of the dishes the Aloo Baigan was so salty I couldn't eat it. All I tasted was salt. I told the waiter and he told me I had to order something else. He wouldn't just void it off my check. So I reluctantly ordered something else...I asked please no salt but it too was salty. What a waste of money and food. I order the other vegan option which was $1 less and he still charged me for the more expensive one. This is why I give it a 1 star. I will not be returning. I actually didn't know it was totally vegetarian before we came in but was pleasantly surprised that I really did not miss meat at all. We got quite a few dishes since we wanted to try the menu. Paneer tiki masala, a few different dishes with chick peas, samosas, dumplings in a cream sauce and garlic naan. Everything was super fresh and flavorful. Service was attentive but not overbearing.
