I go way back with the proprietors at Vehicle Viceroy, but you don't go buy a car from people you know simply out of personal loyalty. I'm a fussy and discerning car-buyer, which had no way of knowing until now. (That's the thing about driving a car that's old enough to drive itself.) So I shopped around at the major Honda dealership in my local area, and I took a few test-drives. Their current selections weren't great, and they sure didn't offer to actually launch a nationwide search for the car I wanted and fight for it on the dealers' market, which is what Vehicle Viceroy will do for you. As someone content to drive an older vehicle, or even attached to my older car, the process of buying something newer was not just anathema to my sensibilities but downright confusing. I changed my mind about what I wanted three or four times, and Ash at VV rolled with the punches and was happy to update their search criteria as many times as necessary. He also talked to me on the phone half a dozen times about the paperwork and process, and he provided guidance in my new home state, even though their dealership operates in Texas. The exact car I wanted is now sitting in my driveway. Nobody believes that it's used--including myself. It looked and smelled brand spankin' new, and had fewer than 15000 miles on it. I didn't even have to set foot inside a dealership, either. Did I mention that I asked VV to coordinate some aftermarket stuff too? Yeah, so that was cool. The business model at VV really allows the customer to lead the conversation. They will work within your budget and requirements when locating a vehicle. As someone on a budget, that was extremely helpful. That said, I think this would be a great dealership if you're loaded and looking for something a bit more rare or specialized. So if you really have to have some limited edition gray-on-gray whatever, call these guys. If you're on a first-name basis with the local tow truck driver, and the thought of a car payment makes you break out in hives, you also want to call these guys.

I contacted the owner, Ash, and he promptly responded with all of the necessary details. I corresponded with him for a few weeks before I decided to pull the trigger. He made himself very available whenever I had a question or concern and was very flexible with his availability for me to drop the car off. I dropped the car off in the morning at the office and Ash/Team were able to turn it around for me within 4 business days. He kindly offered to have the car dropped off at any location of my choosing (for the sake of my convenience), but instead I opted to pick it up myself. When a business owner exercises a lack of prudence in keeping their business hours adequately updated, the community which they serve suffers the most. Despite Nesloney coming well recommended from a neighbor, they have since agreed that they will not be coming back here. I was advised by Eric it was my starter and was quoted $800. to replace it. ($425 for the part and $375 for labor) I was also advised he would have to keep the car and it wouldn't be ready until noon the following day. Having replaced a starter before myself, I left and advised the shop that I was going to get a second opinion. I pulled in to an auto repair shop down West Ave and asked them what they would charge to replace my starter and was quoted $385. ($295 for the part, $95 for labor) I left my car with them at 3pm and it was ready by 4:30pm. I told my family and friends about the gouging attempt by Nesloney Auto and it is no longer a business they or I would recommend. Buyer beware!!

Made a trip here to get my 1996 F250 inspected because of the high ratings and the inspector said…read morethat there are two license plate lamps required by state law. First of all, 1996 F250's only have a cutout in the bumper for one lamp so weren't even built to support two. Secondly, Texas Department of Public Safety Section 20.18 SubSec. 2c specifically states "Only one lamp is required" to pass inspection. This was verified on the "What's Inspected" list for trucks from DPS as well. Though this shop gets high rating my first visit was not positive and probably won't go back. That's unfortunate because I had a few small items that needed fixed and thought I'd have them done here to support a local business.

The battery light was on in my wife's car last week, and the battery is brand new so I knew that wasn't it. The alternator was just replaced by another shop last year, so I'm thinking voltage regulator? Rodrigo calls me late Friday to tell me he thinks it's the alternator shorting but wants to a full charge on the battery over night to make sure. Saturday he calls me to say it is the alternator but the root cause is the water pump, which is leaking and spraying the alternator. Monday night we picked it up - perfect, full explanation/demonstration of what he found, and reasonably priced work. We're not going anywhere else from here on out.
