Friendly service and clean seating area. Crab Rangoons and cashew stir fry was good. Medium spice wasn't very hot so keep this mind when you order. Menu includes the normal Thai fare and takeout orders where frequent. Fairbanks has a lot of a Thai options and this one is a good one. read more

This restaurant was stuck in the middle of a rather beat up strip mall. It's unassuming and looks deceptively foreboding from the outside. However, the hostess offered pleasant service when we walked in. We ordered a fried squid appetizer with homemade sweet and sour sauce. The peanuts in the sauce offered just the right crunch to kick up these appetizers a notch! We drank an Alaskan Icy Bay IPA and an Alaskan amber with our main dishes. My wife ordered the Kai Soi and I had the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle) with beef. This wasn't spicy enough for me, so I added some hot oil and that did the trick. The Pad Kee Mao paired extraordinarily nicely with the Alaskan amber, which turned out to be a very tasty beer. The food was good here and the plates were large. So bring an appetite. I paid a total of $71.30 for our meal, since we also bought a man who was down on his luck some delicious lunch. read more

Admittedly, I prolly went in with my expectations too high... but was pretty disappointed overall in our takeout last night. The biggest problem was just a lack of flavor. We both ordered entrees (drunken noodles and sweet pea stir fry respectively) "spicy" - but neither had any heat to them at all. In fact, they had very little discernible flavor at all. Mine came with almost no sauce at all (which is a shame as I usually like to use that to flavor my rice). The chicken was okay - nothing special and at least his noodles weren't mushy -- but other than that there's not much more to say. We did enjoy the appetizers okay. The fried shrimp was delightfully crispy... I had just anticipated it would come in spring roll wrapping, not be literally just deep fried in batter. The Thai soup was good - a light yet flavorful soy sauce broth w a generous amount of chicken. At the end of the day, I just expected more... especially from a Thai place in Fairbanks with so much other great competition. read more

If you're looking for great affordable Thai food, this is an excellent spot! This is one of my favorite spots to order to go. They are super quick and the food is always excellent. They give an excellent amount of food for the price and the food is always super flavorful! If you decide to dine in, be prepared to hold your drink, as the location is right next to the laundromat and the tables often experience some shaking! Great food! Great prices! This is mine and my family's go-to restaurant whenever we're craving for some yummy Thai food. The service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant, and everything on their menu is $9.95 aside from drinks of course. Their portions are also pretty decent sized for the price you pay. I also must say - their Chicken Pad Thai is definitely the BEST Pad Thai we've had in town, hands down! It's my go-to order, along with their spicy Chicken Drunken Noodles. We love the appetizers they offer too, especially the deep fried shrimp and their fried egg rolls with their chili sauce. Bottom line - if you're looking for a nice, quick Thai food meal that will fill you up and satisfy your cravings, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed. read more

We love Bahn Thai in downtown and were THRILLED to learn about their new restaurant!! It's in an awesome location and has the same food - except I believe the portions and prices match the original restaurant's lunch menu portion/prices. It also has a great atmosphere - more casual and family-friendly in my opinion then the downtown restaurant. We're very happy to know they are now right around the corner. We LOVE this place! It's tough to be Vegan in Fairbanks, but not at Bahn Thai. The hostess knows us after just a few visits, and remembers our special requests (no egg, or fish/oyster sauce). I order the Pad Pak every time, it never disappoints. My husband's go-to is the pineapple fried rice. Even my toddler loves their food, she chows down on tofu from my plate every time. read more

Just picked up a phone order. The fresh spring rolls are delicious. I do like the fried ones, but the fresh are very good. Ordered the pineapple fried rice, which had chicken. The pineapple added a little sweetness to the dish. Also had the pad broccoli beef. The broccoli was cooked perfectly...still green with some crunch left. Our favorite! Since Fairbanks has more Thai restaurants per resident in town, it's a tough decision. Clean dining room and friendly servers. Good variety of different food choices but always a good time trying something unusual. Gotta try the pumpkin curry in the fall. Good stuff. read more

Bahn Thai Express is known for speedy service, decent Thai food at the best prices in Fairbanks. But for the past couple weeks their credit card service has been down and you can only purchase food with cash only. Makes me super frustrated because I don't always carry cash with me. So I as super annoyed that they have not stepped up and solved this issue quickly. Their credit card service is still down by the way. read more

I have only eaten here once, so my review may change later (doubtful of that though.) I had the best service from any restaurant in Fairbanks at this little place that's hidden in a small strip of stores located behind a Tesoro gas station off of College road. My daughter and I visited for lunch and ordered a pad Thai soup for lunch with a couple of drinks. I assumed that the price was for individual bowls of soup, it wasn't. We paid $9.95 for a giant bowl for two. It was made with white meat chicken, and we got to control the level of hot and spicy. The noodles were perfect, the bean sprouts were not mushy. Every time our drinks were halfway through a server asked if we would like a refill. It was amazing. The total bill came out to be $13.95. That's cheaper (not to mention way healthier than McDonald's). We will definitely revisit this establishment. read more

Both my friend and I got the pad Thai. I got shrimp in mine and he got the original with chicken. Incredibly bland. Mine had maybe 4 shrimp in the whole thing and maybe one stalk of a green onion and that's it... the rest was just very plain noodles. My friends was similar, maybe a few more pieces of chicken. Good thai food for a very good price. Service is always fast and the place is so small wait staff is right there and responsive. Probably the best thai place for lunch given the price and the speed of service. I eat her often with my kids, one adult and two kids can get a good meal for $25 (including tip) - kids always split the pad thai. We also like Bahn Thai downtown - funny how many people confuse the two in their reviews! read more
