Our princess tour guide mentioned that Fairbanks is known for Thai Food with 20+ restaurants in the city! According to Northwest Travel and Life - Why so many Thai restaurants in Fairbanks? There was a migration of Thai people into the Alaska interior for gold mining; when that didn't pan out, many stayed needing a livelihood. Restaurants followed. Initially, the fam and I were supposed to head over to Lemongrass Thai Restaurant but after talking to our local uber driver she talked us into this spot. This was the best decision ever, this hidden gem located in downtown behind 1st street is worth the stop. The customer service very friendly, the floors were a bit sticky but please don't judge them by that because the Thai Food here is insanely delicious! Ordered Pad Kapao Chicken - Garlic sauce, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, basil leaves Pad Pak - Choice of meat with sauteed veggies in garlic sauce Drunken Noodle - Choice of meat stir fried noodles, eggs, veggies and fresh basil Pad zee ew - Choice of meat eggs, stir fried with homemade noodles and broccoli Fresh Spring Rolls - Veggies, soft noodles, eggs, wrapped in rice paper Thai Spring roll - Chicken bean thread, veggies, wrapped in pastry, deep fried - served with chili sauce There were four of us, more than enough! We even took some home. I have never been to a place that make their noodles like this. Living in California, I am use to the mass production of them the perfect shape, size and taste. Here everything is made from scratch daily! Not all noodles were the perfect shape or size but the texture and flavor were awesome! I was so happy to see sooo many patrons walk in after us! The only downside which wasn't the restaurant's fault was lyft and uber are basically non-existent - we tried for 30-45 mins to get a ride back to The Princess River lodge. If you are in this dilemma, walk across the street and head to the hotel, ask for taxi services and they will give you maybe 4-5 numbers. Should've don't this after 10 mins of waiting!! Our driver was quick and cheaper than the Uber. Pay them a visit, one of the best Thai food joints I've ever tried!!!

First server was not very friendly, I told I'm first time ask her about menu but she told me everything is good, just look at menu. I picked special from board curry noodle Bowl was bit small and noodle looks like instant ramen noodle. Server never stop at table ask me how was I or anything, she just came pick up dishes and tell me to go "pay there"

Rustic Thai restaurant family run. The food was made to order fresh and hot. Some of the best Thai food we have eaten. Delicious Thai tea. The cook knows how to use Thai herbs and flavors to bring out the flavors. Great meal. Clean restrooms.

I wonder why there are quite a few Thai restaurants in Fairbanks. Perhaps there are a bunch of Thai people who got sick of sweating and moved out to Alaska? What a quaint restaurant, and the dishes did not disappoint. Shrimp Pad Thai - delicious noodles with plenty of prawns, albeit it was rather sweet Green Curry - delicious chicken curry with white rice and vegetables Tom Yum Kung - also very generous with the prawns. I think I counted a total of twelve in the bowl. Again, it was definitely on the sweet side. It's nice to know you can get decent Thai food even in the far reaches of North America.

Drunkin noodle

So delicious!! Would give a 4.5/5 if I could. Great portions; we had leftover for bfast (the best brekkie in my opinion). The beef panang was so flavorful, but I would get chicken next time. We asked for spicy and it was reasonably spicy. The chicken Drunkin noodle is made with homemade noodles which is different than others I've tried, but, in my opinion, so tasty. I will be coming back to try their other dishes. I reccomend this place over others in the area. Not super expensive and very authentic!

Beef house noodles

Food was very good! Service was not too bad considering it was just one person waiting tables. Ambiance is nice, not too quiet, not too loud.

Came in for dinner at 7:30pm. The aroma was very inviting. Ordered the chicken satay and beef drunken noodles. Absolutely delicious. Quick service. Friendly greeting. Clean place. Really liked it especially since it was walking distance from Springhill Suites where we were staying.

Went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. Tried to do a phone to go order but mama was to busy to answer. I walked in she greeted me and asked for my order and she said it would be about 15 minutes. I ordered beef pad Thai and Thai spring rolls, around the corner she came with a Thai tea and just gave it to me with a simple I give to you and here is a water too. She was doing it all!!! Bussing tables running orders and greeting customers. The main reason I was so impressed a homeless dude came in to bargain with her about food she refused but after some talking she told him to pay the rest tomorrow. We shared a smile and she said some people need the help. The whole building smelled amazing and the food was nowhere near the word let down, the flavor was full the food was hot and the sauce was perfect. I now I know why I heard from about 5 different people that I had to go eat here. I did and wow was it amazing.

In house noodles

5 -7 mins walk from the Morris Thompson cultural centre and antlers arch. The food was amazing and the lady (owner) was friendly, informative and service was quick. We tried the fresh spring rolls, hot and sour soup that was perfect on a freezing day, drunken noodles and in house noodles with pad thai that were delicious, freshly made and appetizing. Highly recommend!!

Was recommended as an out-of-towner by some locals. Great place. Quick service & delicious food. I got the drunken noodles with chicken to go. Definitely recommend.

Food was delicious! Home made noodles probably needed to be a little thinner so they did not taste over cooked but good either way!

Expensive and OK. Not really that impressed. Wife thinks it should get more stars if they would have included rice with the curry.

The service is quick, and the food was OK, nothing authentic or special. The menu is limited compared to what is posted here on yelp.

Fresh? Nooodles? China kind. Want fresh made Noodles. Have lobster?

Noodles are homemade! Not sure what kind they are but they are very good! About 1/2"wide x 2"long! They have dishes with shrimp and scallops but I don't believe they have lobster! Try the Drunken Noodle, you won't be disappointed! Craig

Enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. :) Service: Food took a bit to arrive but considering how busy they are, it is understandable. Very good service by our hosts who patiently responded to our queries on shellfish allergies and spice levels. Thank you so much Koi, Bambi and team! :) Ambience: Nice decor with musical instruments, interesting paintings that remind you of Thailand and they have paid good attention to details on their tables, mats and the menu. Casual chatty vibes too. All good. Restrooms: Clean and well maintained. Parking: No issues at all. Plenty available!

Ordered Pad See Ew with Beef, Gaeng Pa-Nang with Halibut, and Pad Plick Khing with Halibut. Although I thought this was very good, I didn't think it was better than the other Thai restaurant that I had been to earlier in the week. Food was just missing that little something that would make it truly elite. I will give credit to the Mango Sticky Rice though, that was great. Staff here were really friendly. Took care of our orders quickly because we got here right before the kitchen was about to close. Also filled our water quite a bit. Lemon Grass is still pretty good, glad I tried it.

The staff in the restaurant were nice and we were able to get seated right away during dinner hours. The decor inside was very simple and casual. We ended up ordering chicken satay and egg rolls as appetizers, which both were decent. For entrees, we ordered pineapple fried rice (which you have to ask them to add pineapple to the fried rice item on the menu), beef massaman curry, tom kha gai soup (one with coconut milk), and drunken noodles with chicken. All the entrees were also pretty decent and flavorful, although I did find most of them to be on the saltier side. The meat in the massaman curry did also taste super soft but almost in a canned meat kind of way. We were also served water but everyone in our group felt like the water tasted weird, almost like there was some kind of cleaning supply or chlorine type after taste. We saw that they put lemons but there were no lemon taste in the water. We were all concerned by the taste and ended up not drinking any of the water (despite the food being salty and we really needed some). Overall, not a bad spot outside of the water situation, but not a spot I'd necessarily recommend given the price of dishes and value.

They put a lot of beef, but the beef is a little on the chewy side. The tom yum is a bit salty for me. It would be better to eat with rice instead of drinking the soup on its own.

Ordered the Halibut Egg Rolls, Panang Curry with Halibut (which is not a normal menu item), Chu Chee Pla with Salmon, and Pad See Ew with Beef (which I have to order at every Thai restaurant I go to). I must say, this was up there with some of the best Thai food I've ever had. Not everything you see halibut in egg rolls, but I had to get it. the panang curry was up there with some of the best panang curry I've ever had, and it came with a fairly hefty portion of halibut. Chu chee pla was good, although it tasted a bit similar to the panang curry. Pad see ew was very good, and it was quite a huge portion as well. Staff here were very friendly despite being extremely slammed. There were only two people taking care of the entire restaurant and one cook in the back. Despite all that, the food came out at a fairly reasonable pace. Much kudos to them for working so hard. Really enjoyed my trip to Bahn Thai. I guess there really is elite Thai food up in Fairbanks!

We got the halibut egg rolls, which was freshly fried and a bit more refreshing than a regular one because of the halibut. The ginger fish dish comes with either halibut or salmon. We opted for salmon and it was overcooked but the ginger sauce was very good. Once we broke down the salmon to soak up the sauce, it was tastier to eat. There were 4 small pieces. We also appreciated the loads of vegetables that come with this dish - strange how much we appreciate veggies in AK. We wonder if the traditional Thai dishes are the way to go here, but our meal was still good.

Because we were the first few in the door, our entrees arrived sooner than others who came after. I was disappointed with the Thai iced tea, it lacked tea flavor and was more of condensed, excessively sweetened milk drink. I could only finish 1/2 and poured out the rest . We ordered 3 dishes and the portions were generous such that we had leftovers the next day. 1. Veggie Tom Yum Soup - was OK but I've had others with better flavor and wouldn't order this again. 2. Chicken pad Thai was the best dish of the bunch but it was very skinny rice noodles. It tasted better as next day leftovers after the flavors marinated overnight. 3. Alone it was kinda bland but with the sauce it was actually very good. I ordered the pad Thai with chicken. Honestly the flavor is very good but it was very unfortunate that the chicken and tofu came out very dry. Had it not been for that I would have given my dish an 8.5/10 but because of it unfortunately I can only give this a 6/10. My buddy got the pad kee ma ( drunken noodles) with chicken and again the chicken was very dry. It was also just kind of a bland flavor. Just a little disappointing. If they maybe added some garlic and a little more sauce I think it would have really elevated the dish. One thing I really like was it seemed like all the sauces were house made which is fantastic. I would still come back here to try some other food. But hopefully they can just get the meat to not be so dry.
